I came back to play ME3 after about a couple of months away (due to the released of The Following). Did something happen? I can hardly get a silver game, let alone gold or platinum. For the weekend gone, me and other 3 just stayed together for 6 to 8 games because we couldn't find any other game. Not that we have problem with each other but people rarely stayed more than 2 or 3 games. Is EA killing the ME servers?

I have just read that I may have the version mismatch bug. How can this be possible?!?!?! Would really like to sort this out so that I can get back to my normal life - playing ME3 mutliplayer

That's the link for the version bug, if your version is ok try a repair or redownload of all the mp dlc

I have a mic (can listen only tho, have little babies sleeping usually, so can't talk much)

I'm fairly new player to ME3 MP, but vet of many games. Usually playing bronze and can hold my own on silver matches  and contribute (and not die too much) if in good team. Still, my equipment is on low levels. Mostly playing GI (ye ye, hate me) and am pretty decent with it.

Repeating my suggestion to include the information about the Version 1.6 bug in the OP. This issuing keeps cropping up, as can be seen above.

"Read" is such a hard word to comprehend. It's so close to "Post".

I still vote this thread get locked so it doesn't keep getting posted in.

Holy ****** **** people

Honestly though, do we design something the way we want it or the way it ought to work?

If all the pugs are going to post here without looking/reading, perhaps the topic should reflect that. Human nature is human nature. Plan for it.

Suggestions, please, and I'll edit the OP. Perhaps the title could say "Read this first", or something like that? :D

... well it does kinda seem a little misleading with the "looking for a game/group" part... I kinda was gonna do like them for a start but I read it and realized I shouldnt ;) I dont blame them for getting it wrong... but I dont think theres a better way to phrase it :(

At the risk of sounding somewhat miffed at your criticism, I will point out have put numerous hours into researching, editing, and maintaining the OP, and the present title is the one specified to me by a forum moderator as part of the deal to get the post stickied.

The part that says "read this first" seems clear to me - and to many others, I believe - but I am completely open to suggestions about what it should say in order to remove any confusion that may lead people to interpret it as "post here first without reading".

Really, help me out here. Come up with the words and I'll see what I can do.

Maybe you could try capitalizing and/or underlining the word "read". Or maybe change it to "READ the OP first".  :P

I don't think it'll work, though.

Would it hurt to have it locked, so it is only readable and not postable? Or do you think everybody would just start spamming new topics again?

I honestly have no clue why they can't tell the difference between "read" and "post". I mean, I could maybe understand if English wasn't their first language, but the biggest offenders seem to be Americans (and Brits), so I really don't know.

Thank you for the welcome :)

Although I very much doubt it will work, I shall alter the title within the spirit of your suggestion and the limit set by the mods. And then we'll see what happens.

It would hurt, yes, since the OP could then no longer be updated/edited/corrected as needed.

Like you, I am baffled by the widespread inability to differentiate semantically between "read" and "post". They certainly look different to me.

^ Lol, true!   I fear the problem is in the root of: TL; DR .  Would it be a good idea to really make it ultraclear by adding a few words at the end, if it doesn't get too long?  Such as ..."READ this guide first, do not post in it" . For those people who got too many electrolytes from Brawndo!

Because of that TL;DR sickness, I'm guessing people could be interpreting the heading "read before posting", as: 'read this first, and then post here' , as it somehow may look like the 'before posting' part entails the assumption that you'll be also posting anyway (here or somewhere else).. and then they often just skip the reading part and directly go into the posting. That's just a guess on what seems to be happening.

... it wasnt a criticism not really but if its your first time here youre gonna do stupid things... I mean it does say looking for a game/group and if people overlook the last part... I wasnt making a criticism of you or anything I said theres no better way to phrase it... but I mean there are people posting their information on a topic which says first looking for a game/group that part kinda makes sense and its pretty easy to overlook the last part I think... I do silly things all the time so I guess its easy for me to empathize ;)

Maybe somewhere in the body put something along the lines of "Do not post your info here do that in your platform's thread" or "Only post info in platform thread(s) below." I'm not trying to be a dick, but for the people saying we can't read, show me in the OP where it says "do not post your info here." Even the first page of this thread has someone saying pc players add me. I can say when I first signed up the xbox thread was dead (no post in over a month) and I wasn't sure if anyone would see it, so I posted in this one since others had done the same and it was an active thread with people posting info (like the OP states to do). I'll get rid of my post here and move it to the xbox thread and maybe that will help get some more people to post there. Somewhere along the line it got derailed with one person posting in this thread and a wave of others followed.

Mark, can you add the 1.6 issue to the OP? It's a relatively recent thing.

Personally, since I think most readers are going to read from Left to Right, the first few words doesn't really catch their attention as it looks like just any other thread.  So, I would suggest something like: **READ FIRST!**  Looking for a Game/Group?

It avoids the To Long Didn't Read problem, gets the point of "Read this first before moving on" with the first two words, and describes what the thread is about to those who want to read the entire thread title.
