I remember watching a video of BioWare talking about the Mako and other stuff on their Comicon Panel 2014 where they mentioned, that Mass Effect Next is still early in development and years away from releasing, but (If I remember correctly) they started the next game late 2012 and said early 2014 that they are in the middle of development stages. Could this be just false understanding on my side since english is not my main language? Or do they hide something?
BioWare lying about development stage?

You forgot the option you're paranoid ![]()
In all seriousness though: they just have no idea yet when it will be released. Don't read too much into it.

These companies say things based on what they're aiming to achieve at that moment. Wether or not they get close to actually doing what they intend to is another thing entirely but your English can't be that bad because the rest of us heard it that way too.

I hope it'll be released on the first half of 2015
I think I've heard that was the intended release date.

I'm with you, I cant wait for the next game but even I have to admit, that I dont think thats anywhere near possible. At best, I hope for late 2015/early 2016 buf if they really are still in early development stages, than it wont be before late 2016/2017 since they've said that the game is still year(s!) away from being finished

I don't care about release dates. I just care about a good product. Don't rush Bioware, when the time comes, they'll release the game.

I believe the game will be released on March 6th 2016 marking the 4th anniversary of ME3. Just my speculation.

I'd prefer November 7th 2015
Really, anniversary of ME3 is also an anniversary of Bioware's biggest screw-up in consensus of too many people.

That said, the occasional tidbit of information about the game hint hint between now and then would be appreciated.

Q1/Q2 of 2015? Are you serious? We haven't even seen a proper debut trailer for it yet. Only some "Pre-conceptual" pre-alpha footage. The game won't be out in 2015. There's no way.

I for one would rather have a late 2016 release than an early and rushed 2015 release.
Take all the time you need, Bioware, true fans can wait but are unforgiving if you screw up.

I'm thinking late 2015. Abouut a year from now. The Nov. 7, 2015 date a poster mentioned sounds nice. And that would be about 3 years and 8 months since ME3. That's a good amount of time.

The new Mass Effect will never come out in 2015. If it was the case, you would have trailers and gameplay, and live demo at every major games convention in the world.
When, they will start to do that, you can estimate the game to be released one year to one and half year later.
So, don't expect any release before 2016 at the very very best.

Developing a game these days is a major investment. I'm not surprised that Bioware are being careful about saying (a) if there is actually going to be an ME4 and (
subject to development costs and finance when any release is likely to be. It's far too early for anyone to predict, even at this stage considering the fact that Bioware has been doing it's own cost cutting thing of late.
In short as the gaming industry in general continues to be careful about such things - don't hold your breath

Last E3-like events were at early summer. I doubt they were going to present a half-made game by then.
It could be just bad timing that they haven't presented anything at any game convention by now.

ME3 was supposed to be released soon after LOTSB.
I remember Christina Norman stating she re-did a complet playthrough (around Christmas) of the upcoming ME3 and it was getting good.
ME3 was released 1 year and 3 month later, and it would have needed another 3 month for the polish and extended ending.
People expecting the next ME game for 2015 are going to be desapointed.
At best you will get live demo soon, and rumor of a release date for the end of 2015... and 6 - 8 month later, an annoucement that the release date is delayed.

I still think 2015 (more likely late in the year) is very possible.
2016 is also very possible - I just wouldn't like it.
2017 is very very unlikely.
I'm still going to wait a few to several months before I get all expectant about Mass Effect in-game trailers and such. If we get anything before that, I've allowed myself to be in a place where I'd be happily surprised.

How far along is the next mass effect, I've read some reports saying early stages development and some saying late stages
Too late for one, too early for the other... So I guess we're somewhere in the middle? :-)
His estimation seems correct, if we follow this chart

If game development started November 2012 (last DLC by Bioware Montreal), and stretched to 36 month scale (for a fall 2015 release date)
The game is on the verge of exiting pre-production by now, since stuff like mocap, story, dialogue, and gameplay have been in the works. We are about 17 months into the production cycle, which corresponds with where the devs have said about the state of the game. We are about to enter full production, which should last over 13 months!
For further evidence, concept art from N7 Day was released in the preproduction phase (where it should happen), and in December we heard that a section of the game demonstrating most features was operational, which would normally give the green light to enter full prduction.
This was a post I made a while back trying to get a sense of where they are at in development, made in May 2014. We should be in full out production by now, since we are about 22 months into the cycle. And it's been almost a year since a test build containing all the main features of the game has been shown off. For comparison's sake, DA2's last DLC and DAI release date are almost exactly 3 years apart. And it's been stated by Bioware themselves that DAI was the sacrificial lamb for this generation since they had to build the Frostbite engine from the ground up so it could work with RPGs. This means that the Next Mass Effect will have a leg up in terms of development, borrowing some components from the DA team.
Basically, Bioware should be able to make a Mass Effect game that's bigger and better than Inquisition, all within the same 3 year time frame. Don't forget that Mass Effect 3 was officially announced only a year before its initially planned release, so it's not something they are afraid of doing. While I doubt we'll get anything major this year, the devs I spoke to at the Montreal Comic-Con said to definitely keep an eye out for new info before the end of the year. They said they don't want to steal DAI's thunder, but after that it will be Mass Effect's turn to be in the spotlight ![]()
A Mass Effect game in 2015 is most definitely a realistic possibility, and with a nice 3 year dev cycle to boot ![]()

2015 is a pipe dream unless you're talking November/December. Mass Effect 4 is far more likely to come out in 2016, there just hasn't been enough released to justify thinking next year is it. Bioware wants us to be interested in the game with a build up, they wouldn't just start the promotion with a month or two to spare in pre-release.
