So... this airliner vanished back in March and still no information, no clues, nothing. I recently saw a documentary on the disappearance on the Smithsonian channel and it was, lackluster to say the least. One possibility as to why there haven't been any breakthroughs; the people leading the investigations are total and completely INCOMPETENT!

One woman, Coleen something, in an interview on this doc actually used the word "ten-hundred"!  Don't even get me started on the Malaysian cops...

Didn't they find wreckage of it in the sea a while back? Or was that another plane that fell from the sky? There's so many airliners going down for various reasons, so I have a hard time (let alone any real motivation) to track all those incidents.

They have found jack-squat. The investigation was put on hold in Sept for some dumb reason. About half of the nations involved are still actively searching... according to said governments.

The one thing, one single thing people wanted after 9/11, was for governments & companies to make sure we always would know were these birds were. That they couldn't drop off the radar like this. So much for the war on terror & all the airport security that we had to put up with, the disapearance of this plane is evidence of some pretty terrible incompetance all around.

I feel pretty bad for the company itself. They had two tragedies in rather quick succesion. That can't be easy to deal with. Hopefully MH 370 will be stumbled upon soon, give families some closure, but the ocean could easily keep it hidden for a few decades.

Anyone knows the type of airplanes that went down? The newest one was an Airbus A320-200, which is more a than 25 years old design. I have a lingering suspicion that maybe a couple well used planes succumbed to time and wear and are now falling from the skies from old age (and missing or inadequate maintenance or failure to replace them at proper times).

Odds are someone is hijacking them and sending them to chop shops.

By flying the plane very low, they can bypass most radar and fly the thing to anywhere in Southeast Asia or Africa to cut up the plane and sell the parts to China to help them make their 737 knock-off. for their valuable electronics and alloys.

The everlasting quest to outsource maintenance to the cheapest source possible has consequences? Who'da thunk it.

While this does happen every so often, it's rare that these occurances would be so close together and that they would simply vanish without a trace.

It's too expensive to do, so it won't get done.

Money is everything...

Whatever happened to Qistina? I miss attempting to translate his/her posts.

Not necessarily.

Qistina had a meltdown when the first plane went missing, blamed everything on the Illuminati. Basically the entirety of western society was the Illuminati inluding Bioware.

With all the weird territorial tension in that part of the world it's not surprising that the media is eating up conspiracy theories. This latest loss seems pretty far from mysterious though, so I find it kind of annoying with the tinfoil hat spin.
Hopefully the media will be careful with the conspiracy crap, getting people riled up could be plenty more damaging for people than just the anger over losing the planes. People think their neighbors are out to steal their resources, territory, & hit their economies enough as it is... I imagine all of that will get much worse in the coming years following the recent disaster with the Sundarbans oil spill, the loss of that natural resource & the impending humanitarian crisis.

I am assuming Qistina got banned for that?
