With all the weird territorial tension in that part of the world it's not surprising that the media is eating up conspiracy theories. This latest loss seems pretty far from mysterious though, so I find it kind of annoying with the tinfoil hat spin.
Hopefully the media will be careful with the conspiracy crap, getting people riled up could be plenty more damaging for people than just the anger over losing the planes. People think their neighbors are out to steal their resources, territory, & hit their economies enough as it is... I imagine all of that will get much worse in the coming years following the recent disaster with the Sundarbans oil spill, the loss of that natural resource & the impending humanitarian crisis.

Eh, you don't need the media for crackpot theories. They just crawl out of the wood work naturally, even when the answers are plain, people refuse them. Anyway, they've located wreckage and bodies for the latest tragedy - hopefully that'll bring some peace for the families and shut the crackpots up.

The aliens aren't too smart if they try it with undead. Literally every disaster control organization has plans for zombie apocalypses. Besides, if they go for the traditional undead stuff, the problem will sort itself out in due time, all we'd need are a couple insects (I hear we got a lot of those), a couple cliffs and maybe, just maybe a bit of gun.

 

If the aliens are smart, they'd better try the alien invasion schematic. There aren't too many contingency plans that go beyond the stage of "let's hope they are friendly". The only other option most people came up with is "nuke them", but I would laugh at interstellar travelers that can't deal with a couple nukes.
