A store sold me the PC version early and I've been playing for a few hours, but I've stopped 'cos I wanna wait for the DLC. First of all, I wanna say that if you used console cheats YOUR SAVE ISN'T CORRUPTED, you can still import and there won't be any problems

Anyway here are my impresions:

Combat:
- Combat has been vastly improved, it's much more fun now
- There's much more combat than in ME1
- Ammo can be scarce if you don't look for it, especially shotgun or sniper ammo
- Sentinel is tougher than Soldier 'cos of it's special ability
- Biotic combos are fun, but you can't use biotics on someone (except warp) if the enemy has armor/shield
- Soldiers don't get the SMG
- Difficulty has been improved. I played on hardened and it was perfect, not too easy, not too hard
- Squad control has been improved

The story and places
- All I can say is that all of your questions about the story and Shepard will be answered ingame
- The review that said that it's unknown whether Shepard is a spectre and that there is no mention of them is wrong
- Planets are much more populated. The Citadel is awesome
- The choices you made in ME1 affect only dialogue and a few scenes play out differently. You do hear about stuff you did which makes the game more personal
- There are more easter eggs
- The story is "darker" and "emotional engaging"
- There's less loot now, but there's more "optional items" (like fish and stuff)

Dialogue
- Unlike ME1 where you got 3 options where Shepard says the exact same thing, you get 2 options where Shepard says totally different things
- Interrupts aren't very common
- Shepard speaks more often and there's much more personality to him
- Using charm will lead to one scene, while using intimidate leads to another, but the result is the same
- Renegade options are more fun
- Mark Meer has improved
- Cutscenes can be skipped (only the beginning scenes can't be skipped)

Minigames
- The hacking mini games are more fun than in ME1, but the scanning planets minigame is annoying

Graphics
- They're good, better than ME1
- Miranda's face looks funny in some rare scenes, but she's still pretty in most
- The red veins aren't that bad

Bugs
- SMG visually occupies the same slot as the Heavy pistol
- Shepard has an AR in cutscenes even if he isn't trained in one
- Constant glitches where you go off the map or walk 2 feet off the ground. Mostly like you've seen on Youtube
- The game lagged a couple of times
- The squad AI is dumb if you don't tell them what to do
- Loadings aren't as fast as in ME1
- There's sometimes graphic glitches in the eyes

While ME1 started off slowly, ME2 start with a bang, and for the next 2 hours there's 90% shooting, 10% dialogue. There's also very annoying achievements pop-ups that can't be disabled
So far, it looks like a better game than ME1 in every way

Any questions?

Thank you. I enjoyed reading and glad it was spoiler-free. The nit-picky person inside me is already getting annoyed at Shep carrying an AR, even if she's not trained but oh well. Maybe they will fix this in ME3.

Every other class except Soldier. You don't really need it since you have the AR

No, only different outfits based on your loyalty (I didn't get any)

Awesome. You're a pretty lucky boy, you know that, don't you?

The only thing i want to know:

Are there geth weapons?

It's probably too early to ask; if there are any, they might only be found late in the game, as in ME1.

I've also played a fair bit and all I can say is; if you like story, you're going to love ME2. I just completed Omega and the immersion and atmosphere was amazing. Every conversation feels so cinematic, and the writing has improved as well.

I agree on almost everything. I think the interrupts are fairly common, but It's not like it pops up every conversation. I've played ME2 about 5-7 hours, and I believe I've encountered more than 6 interrupts. I scanned a lot of planets, so take that as you will.

Can I ask whether an Adept can be trained to us weapons well? Or are they kind of crap? I want to use Biotics and Weapons, I know Vanguard but I prefer the look of the Singularity power to the Charge power.

I think he means the <shoot him> dialogue options? If so, I am looking forward to them. I hope they give us more opportunities to pull guns on people who really deserve it. Like the scientist on Feros and the Evil Asari Scientist on Virmire.

Everyone besides the soldier gets the SMG.
Did you perhaps mean the LMG (SMG is more a Machine Pistol, LMG the bigger more baddas brother of the Assault Rifle)?
In that case, only the Soldier can use the LMG.

Thanks for that bit of information, could you please say what kind of cheats you used?

Ah, I'd hoped they changed that from the first one.
And now he does that without even carrying one.

I don't exacly know yet, but Christina said that every class can train in another weapon later on in the game

Have you tried the different classes? If so, what are your impressions of the special class-specific abilities? I'm worried some of them are going to turn out to be useless gimmicks.

Hey DarthCaine, thanks for the info.

What do you make of the RPG elements.... can you customise characters? Armour? Weapons?

Can you run & gun with no planning, or do you have to set up your squad before fights?

Is there really a "MIssion Complete!!" sign at the end of a section?

Did you have any crashes like IGN mentioned?

And enjoy ;)

The armor customization is fun, but there's not a lot of armor parts you can buy

Okay cheers. Also you said the Planet Minigame was annoying, how so? And finally, lol, how often do the bugs/glitches occur? Do they occur enough to put a sad face on? XD

So far ME2 looks, and feels GREAT. My only gripe with it is the new methods of loading textures. In ME1 there were complaint about pop ins, luckily, there are NO pop ins in ME2... at the cost of a significantly lengthened load screen.

Playing on hardcore (and since I didn't know the maps/layouts of the enemies), I died many times... and was forced to watch a 10-30 second load screen - much longer than ME1's 5 second load screen.

I'm just going to say that I've experienced 2 crashes. Both after I had scanned a couple of planets, so it was annoying.
