None of the music I've heard from the streams seems poor but as far as using music properly based on setting? Those obnoxious, repetitive booming drums in Skyhold beg to differ.

The drums aren't part of Inquisition, it's something they put over the Skyhold sections for the Twitch stream because they thought it sounded cool.

Got that whole charge at Ostagar vibe going in this track think it;s safe to say that the sound track was put in good hands with Trevor Morris

As I said elsewhere, it's nice but generic. It lacks the strong identity of the themes of the previous two games. This could be used for any fantasy game - or for any modern western movie, at that.

It sounds absolutely nothing like the themes to DAO or DA2.

But it is so good! The quiet crystal like sounds at the beginning are pretty, and then when the violins come in.... I think I may have run out of goosebumps listening to that so often. *shiver* And then the rest of it is undeniably epic. It helps that I have a huge soft spot for choral work. I love it.

I really like it - more than I did the previous version that was available (someone linked to it in this thread). I'm just a sucker for any track that is so reliant on strings, especially for an opening.

Still I have yet to play any game with better title music than Lords of Shadow.

Been listening to this about 5 times during the day, it's great. Probably the only time I'll hear the whole thing, as I don't anticipate hanging around the main menu for 3:42 ever once I have the game.

 

Tweeted this to Trevor Morris, the dude deserves some love for this.

 

Man, that DA:I main theme. Now I know I'm not paralyzed, because I can feel tingles in my spine when the drums kick in. Great!
