I still think it looks like a man, three Quizzers symbolizing different specializations; but the simple prescence of Merrill's robe tells me she's semi-confirmed to appear, why else remodel it if not she was going to use it?

Oh and the possible Merril is definitely female.

I don't think its merril. The character looks really different and if you zoom in you can make out the facial tattoos which are completely different then the ones Merril had.

 

I think it is just reskinned armor, plus this one appears to be made of chainmail whereas hers was always leathers correct?

 

We have seen Duke Prospero's armor as well, but that doesn't mean he is in the game.

No, her DA2 outfit had chainmail underneath the robe.

Hmm looking at the picture of the achivement "Doom apon All the World" my gues is that the big bad is Dumat. At least the picture reminds me of his concept art on dragon age wikia.

All of this things seem to underpin my asumptions:
-->Corypheus seems to follow him.
-->In the enemy of thedas trailer he says something alonge the lines "bow before your new good"
-->and in the masked empire if i remeber right it is said that the elder one has returned...so it could be that Dumat wasnt really killed during the first blight? who knows

Yeah, I'm really not convinced the character appearing in a lot of spoilers is the big bad. But if it turns out to be true, I've gotta say I'll be disappointed.

 

Funny thing is, I've seen/read pretty much all the spoilers so far, and I still don't feel spoiled. Probably because it's all been fairly predictable.

Seconding all of this. Especially with all the ~WHERE IS YOUR MAKER NOW~ stuff, it would make a lot of sense for the Big Bad to be an Old God, and Cory seems central enough that Dumat isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Well, let me guess, what if the intention of original magisters came out of some sorts of deamon or fallen angel who was looking for his way back to golden city or to overthrown maker. I don´t think that Corypheus alone is the answer, but he might be a missing link to the source of all this mess since the first blight.

Its possible, but I truly think that Corypheus/grey warden thing is just another side quest bit of chaos like the mage/templars and orlesian civil war that prevents the grey wardens from handling the breech.

 

remember the devs have said there are multiple entities that would be capable of handling the breech, but due to the circumstances that have been created are unable to do so.
