Also we don`t know what or who exactly is Flemeth or how looks now Tevinter society. Back in DA2 we could see how is possible to ressurect someone just with a little amulet. It may be that despite the Corypheus slain in prison by Hawke, there could be someone other able to ressurect him, Tevinter magisters maybe ?

Cory just possessed one of the 2 grey wardens sense he wasn't killed by a GW.

Exactly, they had thousands of slaves sacrificed for their power, today Cory has at best a few hundred people he could sacrifice for his power. He (and the other Magisters) were following the instructions of something else when they attempted that first fade walk. That being seems far more suited to being the Big Bad Wolf than Cory. It has a history of manipulating events to suit its purpose.

 

As to other posts saying Cory could have subconsciously done stuff, well he wasn't aware of any time passing when he woke up, he didn't seem to be aware of much at all, so how could he have been planning and orchestrating this for decades? I feel like the Cory supporters are reaching for straws, because what Bioware has indicated in the past makes it incredibly unlikely that Cory would have had the time, or power, to do this.

 

There are also the points (conveniently ignored) about Felassan and the Elder Ones apparent entrapment in the fade.

As far as the breach would be concerned with this, I believe the explosion at the beggining of DAI that wipes out just about everyone their would probably generate enough power/blood magic/ suffering whatever to rip the veil open. Power wise I think Cory is capable of doing that, I just don't think he fits.

Its more he jumped bodies, even if Hawke didn't go there there was already great wardens looking for Cory, he doesn't have to  be brought back by anyone, he really would have gotten out reguardless. Either jumping bodies after hawke slayed him or the wards failing.

Personally I still think it's Dumat with Cory acting as his herald. Hench why the Inquisitor is a called a rival in Hero of Thedas Trailer, because you are more or less exactly that, the Herald of Rival God. That said I do think Cory would work pretty well as a main villain.

Corypheus was clearly a worshiper of Dumat in Legacy. Him trying to be a vessel for the big bad (Dumat in this case) makes sense to me.

The dragon in the "doom upon the world" pic kinda looks like it has Cory's weird metal deformed face things on its face. Maybe he can shapeshift like flemeth?

Yeah the pic of the big bad being a dragon and cory and the venatori helping it pretty much all but confirms the big bad is dumat.

Or the big bad is a old god who has been more chained up, rather then sleeping. Even though Corey mainly followed one old god, he most likely still indirected worshipped the others or paid his respect...which would mean he went to another old god once free and maybe he did something like the artitech did and instead of tainting an old god freed just one.

But what will be major to Corypheus plot and even if Dumat`s comeback is the status of Grey Wardens. There were some news about Wardens and conflicts with Inquisition which could be a mark of Corrypheus`s attempt to destroy Grey Wardens from the other perspective.

 

GW had their internal policies about not messing with world politics, but when we look at one of the major plotpoints, the world is in chaos of civil war in Orlais and war betwen the mages and templars, with messed up chantry. So there are almost no authorities at all, and Wardens could be soon be out of adepts for ritual and kingdoms to help in case of emergency, when everyone is fighting... and who knows, how many wardens can Corrypheus control.

 

It may be that Corypheus simply took different approach to blights and old gods...

As for Dumat being dead: There are many threads and posts about this. According to available sources Andraste was born the same year the First Blight ended. Coincidence, or evidence of a Dark Ritual from the past? The figure we see in the fade in the prologue is labelled by many as "Andraste". This could be more accurate than they know.

 

At this point the Elder One could be any thing. Fen'Harel, an ancient Elven Sleeper, a new Archdemon (unblighted even), Dumat, Cory. These pictures seem to indicated Cory is a Big Bad Wolf, but appearances can be deceiving. I'm withholding final judgement for the moment, but all-in-all Cory doesn't feel 'Right' to me.
