Well it is a major gap in the story, given the first arch-demon/old-god was also the ones that told some to go to the golden city and  get the light. It is possible that could be what happen.

Also lthere are a lot of loose ends. Given Cory is clearly one of the first dark spawns, there could be other dark spawn like him around has well most notieable could be the artitech though he might have lost some of his mind, picture if all of the first dark spawn regained theot senses...they could do anything.

Indeed. I believe that most of the original however many magister darkspawn have been killed, though I do think that there is probably one or two still out there that we have yet to encounter.

Holy **** Corypheus is back after all. He look as mean as ever. Interesting the see the bug monster in an full shot. That thing looks bigger then an high dragon. How is the Inquisitor, Hawke and warden placeholder supposed to beat that thing?

With Dumat it's important to note how much his presence was felt in the Legacy. The Altar to him was seemingly Quite active and despite being dead when  this all happened, every time Cory beseached him for powers during the fight with hawke he grew more powerful. This have alternative explanations true but it could be that Dumat as the first of the Old Gods was more powerful or the Grey Wardens don't quite understand how killing the archdemon works and in truth it just banishes them to the Fade or something

Cory has a darkspawn is already immortal of body and going by Legacy->DAI, he's even harder to kill than the elves of Arlathan because he can soul jump and take over another body. I think he just want to corrupt and destroy what stand against him and his god.

I'm curious to see if this game will go into more depth about the old gods and the darkspawn. And how does the woman who touches the Inquisitor feature in all of this? Hmmmmmmm....

 

At any rate, it seems like we're likely to know more about the Fade from this came, which is cool. It wouldn't surprise me if Dumat (or an entity that BELIEVES it is Dumat) and all the rest really were real in some way. One thing the Forgotten Realms did in one of the Novels (one of the Thayan books Undead/Unclean...or something like that) was call into question the nature of divinity. At one point Szass Tam summons Bane and says something to the effect of, "He's just a spirit like any other. An exceptionally powerful one, but a spirit still. And I will summon him."  Makes me think about the gods and the spirits in the Fade.

One of the youtubers who recorded the game already spoilt it in one of their videos,so I'm not surprised to this in the screenshots.

 

Now I know who the big bad is.It's a very predictable development given what we know from previous games,how else does one explain how he froze that ogre and killed those darkspawn in the castle.It was obvious from the start.

The Well of Souls? No clue what it does, except that it is an artifact of myth dating back to Arlathan or even older. The Chant of Light even references it.

It's nothing like the Mass Effect 3 ending (seemingly). It's more believable in the realm of the Dragon Age universe/lore.

No-one knows the ending to the game. The Achievements don't give any details like that, just pictures and words about them. Also a spoiler free impression of the game? Maybe on Nov 18th (or to be more accurate Nov 22nd since I'll be glued to my computer playing DAI all the time for every waking moment.), but certainly not now.

Its shaping up to be good, though a little preidictable if somethings are true. But still worth getting and pre-ordering.

---Facts

 

Dumat&Co are slumbering and have only tentative control over mortal realm via magisters

The Magisters are promised the 'Golden City' by Dumat&Co

They enter the city in the flesh using blood magic

The city is black, they are cast out into mortal realm

They are transformed into first darkspawn

They spawn more darkspawn and seek Dumat&Co

They corrupt every Dumat&Co member they find

Sleeping Old God might still have full presence in the fade like any dreamer

Most of ADs are killed by Wardens, which implies destruction of the ADs soul (in reality only thing is KNOWN is that it ends the Blight)

Andraste is born on the year of corrupt AD's death.

 

Let's make a wild assumption this is all by a grand design, and magisters are merely pawns.  Then it is possible that the reincarnation as the Archdemon was the only way Old Gods could escape the slumber?  They corrupted magisters themselves once they entered the Fade where ODs currently resided.  Then spreading the blight on other races is  merely a necessary step to corrupt Old Gods and wake them up.

 

Conjecture from the wild theory: Dumat and other Old Gods are not killed by Gray Wardens.  They reincarnate anyway.  Dark Ritual merely simplifies it and/or points to the exact targets.  Entire plot is Dumat trying to escape the slumber, and he is willing to be reborn as AD and be killed to do so.  So entire chain of events is purely to wake up the Old Gods so they can return their power. 

 

Completely wild theory: Possibility of Andraste being the first Dumat's reincarnation after being killed by GWs.  Date of birth match, power of the character and her supernatural abilities are explained.
