This game just now was equally as insane as the first one; I have trouble sorting out thoughts, but a few things are pretty clear to me:

1. That officiating at the end of the game was atrocious.
2. Klay Thompson: you the real MVP.
3. Blatt's refusal to put a red-hot Mozgov in for any part of the fourth quarter while playing Tristan Thompson (who could not shoot or make FTs) made no sense whatsoever.
4. If LeBron had been in Curry's position - MVP defending home court against an inferior, injury-riddled team...and having a total meltdown, missing All The Shots, and getting shut down by Matthew Freaking Dellavedova - he would have gotten eviscerated by the sports media. We'll see how everybody reacts in the next few days, but I suspect that people will focus more on LeBron's amazing game rather than Curry's dumpster fire. And hey, if the Dubs recover and manage a gentleman's sweep, none of this matters anyway, but...oof.
5. That Mo Speights sequence - blown dunk, then tackling Delly and knocking a ref into the scorer's table - was one of the most glorious basketball things I've ever seen.

The Refs were trying the damnedest to gift wrap that game for the Warriors and they kept fumbling and dropping their freebies

And, they couldn't win despite Lebron being just too tired to be effective as normal offensively late in 4th/OT for the 2ns striaght game. Still, I just cna't see a team like GS lost 3 games out of 6 against this Cavs team. That would be embarassing.

What's also embarassing is how there are people who think that Curry was actually the MVP this season.  That's just nonsense. Thompson is just as good and important to the team. James is the Cavs.

That's not the impression my family got.

Of course, I know absolutely nothing about basketball, but I suppose I'm rooting for the Warriors because I'm from the Bay Area.

If they do win at least that will be the second Bay Area team to win a championship in quite some time (if it ever happened at all).

Curry's stats when defended by Matt Dellavadova:

0 points

0-for-8 from floor

0-for-5 from 3 point range

4 turnovers

:o

Eh.. he was bad most of the game. Don't forget the FTs. Also, it should be pointed out that Della was dreadful versus Thompson. I think it's more that Curry had a bad game and Thompson didn't. Let's not forget James also had a rather lacklustre S% - espicially later in the game.

Lebronnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Jamessssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!

How can you make any other argument? L0L

Where was Delly's 'defense' in 4th quarter? :P James had TWO huge steals and a HUGE block.

Still, I think GS will still ultimately win this.  Their talent level is just ebyond the Cavs. James said it himself pre season. This team ain't ready to win.

So did the Cavs win yet or nah? I'm so out of the loop I don't even know if the finals are over yet.

They're up 2-1 without Kyrie. Lebron is making up for the damage last year's finals and the mavs finals did to his rep, certainly.

Last year was NOT his fault. It didn't damage his rep at all. He was great in those finals. His teammates were not. And, the Spurs were an absolute fantastic team. Just like if 9when) GS wins  it won't change the fact that James is the best player in the NBA. However, him winning won't make those who hate him hate him any less.

I didn't say he played bad. I said it damaged his rep, which it did. Just like his first Finals against the Spurs. In the push for GOAT, a lot gets lost in the narrative, and Lebron's failure in the Finals - even if it wasn't always on hit - gets held against him. Whereas it goes the other way with some stuff too, e.g. if he wins this year probably the Decision will mostly get swept under the rug.

The Michael Jordan dick riding gets unbearable this time of year. So lets embrace one of the most underrated players ever.

I don't think there is anything James or any other player can do to swing the narrative away from Jordan being the best for a lot of people. Maybe over time people will remember James in a more favourable light, especially if another James type player doesn't come along because right now there is nobody like him. A Jordan clone entered the league before he even left.

The Warriors are only proving one thing and that is that the NBA is broken. Just watch as the league shrinks in average player size due to the inability of the NCAA to groom skilled big men. Good bye power forwards and centers, here comes starting lineups of 4 point guards who only play like undersized shooting guards, oh and one token 6'4" "big man".

Wasn't it Magic who had the crown beforehand, or Kareem? I think all the Jordan love is going to be gone in a generation, and honestly if Lebron had a better ratio in the Finals, the only Jordan for greatest of all time backers would be like the Bill Russel for greatest of all time backers today.

It seems more like the dearth of talent is also driven by how some potential all-star+ players got hurt. Yao, Oden, now Embiid.

So basically once all the zealots die off? Haha. To be honest I don't care who people personally believe to be the best, its the idiotic logic people use to form there arguments I can't stand. Jordan may well be the best but to suggest that Kobe or Lebron or anyone else isn't in the discussion is just ugh.

We had a lot of incredible players this generation and its a shame they don't get love. Tim Duncan is either the best power forward of all time (IMO clearly better than Malone) or if you count him as a center IMO top 5. Kobe is the best two-guard apart from Jordan (whose positional runner-up was who, Drexler?). Lebron is one of the best all time and overall a more physically dominant player than Shaq. On that note, we also had Shaq who dominanted by showing up.

Jordan did amazing stuff but he gets away too much love.

All the big players in the NBA will come from the european leagues.

I should think they are at least proving they can kick the Cavs' butts, also.

I like the Kobe comparison the best, because in a lot of ways they are the mirror image of each other.

Definitely. A lot of people give Kobe flack for his obvious inspiration but the fact that he has/had the skill to utilize what Jordan did makes him a pretty impressive player, even if he didn't have the same efficiency and degree of success.

Or how they give Kobe flack for being an a-hole to his teammates and yet don't acknowledge that same flaw in Jordan.

Jordan was kind of an a-hole to everyone in the world who owns a ping pong table he hasn't beaten them on yet.
