Before we go to open beta, we're introducing a new feature to the Keep called Queue It. Because we're going to get a lot busier very soon, Queue It will help us ensure that the site stays up and running properly during times of heavy traffic. When you encounter the queue, it'll place you in line where you'll have a short wait to enter the Keep. You may see it pop up frequently for now, as we've set the threshold pretty low - but we are raising it after today. 

 

Please post any questions, concerns, issues or bug reports regarding Queue It in this thread, and we'll do our best to answer them.

No real comments on it atm since I haven't seen it trigger yet. I am slightly concerned as I got a new error today, which may or may not be related. I got an error 500 (or was it 400?) when I first logged in about 15 min ago. Refreshing fixed it but then it booted me back to the error page a min later. Logged out, logged in and it has been working fine since. Hopefully that was not the queue trying and failing to trigger.

I also have a question, how long can we stay in the website once we're past the queue?

Saw it!  Am waiting in line.  However, I got to the keep by typing out the URL and when the page first loaded, it showed an 500 internal server error.  I refreshed the page and got the queue-it page.  PC/Chrome

We can stay for 15 mins. However even when I get in it just bumps me back to queue it where it says I can enter momentarily. When I do get in all it does is load the tapestry page but doesnt load the spinny icon before the tiles and then kicks me out.

You can stay in for as long as you like after getting in - however, if you're inactive on the Keep for a long period of time it will kick you out and you'll have to re-enter the line.

I seem to just be endlessly queueing, even though I'm front of the line and it's telling me to confirm. The page just refreshes and tells me to confirm again.

 

Running on the latest Firefox.

 

Edit: Never mind, it's kicked me to the back of the queue as my 'queue number was old'?

First got the 500 error, then it took me straight to the queue. It says that I am number 311 in line, but the number ahead of me is steadily decreasing. Is this like when you take a number at the store, and you have a static number they get to, or is it bugged?

I am getting stuck in a loop with this...

There is a countdown, say 5 minutes, then it says I am ready and being redirected to the site, only to be put back in a queue with yet another 5 minutes to wait... :/

 

Number 156 in line...no wait, 487 in line...

My only problem with the que it that it doesn't work for me XD. It constantly says 4 minutes. At 2:55 it said 3:59 (because the keep is an hour ahead of me.) at 2:56 at 4:00. And it keeps going and not letting me enter :0

Reached the front of the queue. Clicked the "Yes please" button when prompted.

Green time bar appeared twice more, then another "Yes please" button.

When I clicked that it sent me to the back of the queue, saying my number in the queue had already been taken.

Hmmm, and Queue-It keeps pushing back the "You can access the website in: X minutes" time (as well as expected arrival time).  The number will go down and then back again.  When the page first loaded, I saw 3 minutes, and it kept wavering between 3,2,1.  It was 9 minutes before I actually accessed the Keep.

 

When I got to the "front of the line page" the page reloaded itself a couple of times, which was confusing.

 

I saved my Queue ID if you would like it.

Well I like to report that I was also on the lovey 'wheel of fortune' for a good minute, but now it just let me in.

 

I'll mention I was using IE and didn't have to press anything. It just auto redirected me.

Hey everyone - just letting you know that we're looking into the "kicked out and re-entered line" and "500 error" issues at this very moment. Thanks for helping us test this out! (This is not a "thread is closing" message even though it may sound like one. Just keeping you updated on the latest).

My own experience in the queue was pretty straightforward, however it did seem to have confusing time frames.  It would say, "You're next!" but then do nothing?  So it seems a bit slow. 

 

Is this queue system a temporary thing or is this how the Keep is going to be going forward?

Want to report that I when I was down to 1 minute to access the Keep, it looped back to nine minutes. I

Also the estimated hour is one hour early than my system hour

The reason why the wait is long is because we've set the threshold super low right now as we test it out. It's going to be raised a lot higher, so in the future you should only encounter Queue It during times of really heavy traffic.

I got in with 2 tries on the "yes please" button, and promptly got a script error, followed by nothing responding. Using Firefox. I'm going to try Chrome
