So is there going to be something significant about how we chose Hawke's little sibling's fate? Like for example, Carver becoming a grey warden, does he have a part in any grey warden plot lines? Or templar, if you chose him to be.
good question.

I hope so! It would be cool if the sibling (if alive) was part of the Hawke cameo too.

Nothing's been confirmed as of yet, but I don't doubt they'll at least be mentioned by Hawke or Varric.

We'll probably have a mention from Hawke and/or Varric, but I wouldn't expect much else. Unlike most of the other companions, one of them is 100% guaranteed to be dead during the prologue, so I doubt we'll ever see them in person.

That's something I'm not going to bank on. For example, for most of my rogues, Isabela was my LI. I would love to see her again, but really think it isn't going to happen. Making a character model for all 5 LIs, voicing them, giving them animation and all of that for maybe 10 minutes of screentime doesn't seem like it would be worth it from a developer perspective. <shrug>

Probably true, but I want so badly, haha. I've only ever finished romances with Isabela and Anders, but I'd even set of Hawkes with Fenris and Merrill as LIs just to see them again too.

I think Isabela if anyone probably has a better shot at an Inquisition cameo than anyone else from DA2. Anders, Merrill and Fenris can be dead or Fenris can be brainwiped and back in Tevinter, but no matter what Hawke chooses Isabela's either with Hawke or on the run (escaped with Tome, escaped Qunari after being handed over by Hawke, or unromanced and got the hell out of Kirkwall)
She's got Liara Invulnerability going for her

See my above statement. And I've seen that stupid argument for Liara (I'm a fan of both series and I think the stance is idiotic, but to each their own.) If you want the character the DA fans consider like Liara, the Story and Lore forums are elsewhere. From what I'e seen and don't agree with, Leliana has got that "immunity".
This thread is about the sibling anyhow, not the latest "Will my LI come back" debate. ![]()

Someone ****** in your cereal? I said Isabela's the only DA2 LI who's definitely alive outside DLC, which is true
I don't know exactly what stance I professed that you think makes ableist insults necessary other than "Liara can't die in ME1 or 2" which is also ****** true.

Doesn't seem like we are going to see any companions from DA2, besides Varric. Maybe Hawke will mention Bethany/Carver in case any of them is still alive, but that would be all. Just like other DA2 companions, they had a variable of being dead. Usually characters with that option don't return or their role is limited/mirrored by someone's actions, unless they survive no matter what player did (like Leliana).

Aveline and Isabela also survive no matter what the player does.

Bethany died in Deep Roads. I hope I don't see her again.
I got the weird bug when i played Legacy DLC that had a dead Bethany's disembodied voice still speaking all her lines - and every one acting like she was actually there. So who knows, ghost Bethany could be back ![]()

I'm interested to see what Carver does in Inquisition. My Carver joined the Templars but stood against Meredith with Cullen at the end.
Does Carver leave the Order and join up with Hawke again? Does he stay with the Templars? Does he join a splinter group of Templars opposed to the main Order's actions? Or does he leave the Templars entirely and do something else now?

If Carver or Bethany do have a cameo in Inquisition, that'll mean I'll have to make all my Hawkes mages after the first one. I usually play as a rogue, but I'd much rather see Carver again since he's the one who's actually interesting.

I like Bethany as much as Carver nerved me... (They are created to have that kind of relationship : friend for Bethany and rival for Carver and you can't do anything against it.) I played a mage twice : first, I sent carver to wardens and the second I managed to send him to Templars and side with Cullen too.

I have both dead for one of my world states and the other I have Carver as a Templar. I wouldn't have a problem if he makes a cameo

I don't know about that, Alistair has a good chance of being dead, either through the Ultimate Sacrifice or execution. His role could also change dramatically based on whether he's king, Warden or drunk. But he showed up in DA2 and will play a role in DAI.
I'd love for Carver/Beth show up with Hawke, even if they don't remain. Doesn't seem likely though, since they can tie into completely different conflicts and have varied appearances. I suppose we could have the option to pick their preset after making Hawke in the cc... or have it generate based on Hawke's preset (like in DA2). Those have strong potential to screw up and create unecessary work for Bioware though. So all in all, I'm doubtful.

Alistair most likely will appear briefly, due to having all these variables. In default canon he is going to be alive anyway. But he is a special case here, since he is way more important character in lore than companions from DA2.
