My question is this: Does your type of romance translate & shape Hawke in Dragon Age Inquisition?

 

Say you romanced Sebastian.

• The Friendship path makes your Hawke & him lead a celebate & more Chantry centered lifestyle. 
• While the Rival path makes Sebastian put the Chantry on the back burner & promises your Hawke a crown.

These are 2 completely different outcomes that shape your Hawke.

 

With Anders, what happened after the events of DA2? Friendship (& not executing him) you fight as a rebel against Templars. While with Rivalry you can get Anders to see the "error of his ways" & fight against his previous ideals...

 

Seeing as these choices can definitely shape completely different futures, will there be more detailed options on the Tapestry regarding the companion romances?

I don't know whether "acknowledgements" made by companion discussions in game would be recognized. From all the twitches and spoilers I saw, it was more something like:

Hawke romance Anders: Y/N

Hawke killed Anders: Y/N

Hawke had full rivalry/friendship with Anders: Y/N -> this change their loyalty and decision to stay with Hawke or not at the end

if no, Hawke managed to conviced Anders to join templars for example: Y/N

 

It's kind like multiple choice objective questions...

 

Maybe for Sebastian it'll be something like:

Spoiler

Hawke romance Sebastian: Y/N

if yes, on: Rivalry Path/Friendship Path

Hawke killed Anders: Y/N

 

made prettier with all the tiles artwork anyway.

 

EDIT: What you said make sense since there are one other companion that friendship/rivalry path will decide on one thing that I know will be back on DA:I

Merrill: friendship path she'll keep the not working eluvian mirror. Rival her and she'll shatter the eluvian. We know that the eluvian may play a role on DA:I, confirmed on achievements thread.

It's not necessarily Merrill's Eluvian. Morrigan had also found and activated one. There are supposedly quite a few out there.

Now that it is in open beta, I can actually talk about this. 

 

There is no rival or freindship choice in the keep. Instead you get choices, like are they alive, what did merill do to the mirror, did you agree with anders and so on. For every character but sebastian you can pretty much recreate the rival-romance easily. Sebastian is the exception, likely due to him being DLC, where your main option is did you recurit him and did you romance him? so no rival romance path for him sadly.

There's really not much for Fenris, either. Not surprising, since my canon LI in both games tends to get ignored  *Zevran-mancer*

Having done both the friendship and rivalry paths of Fenris, there really isn't as significant a difference as Merrill or Anders.

I can also tell you guys that Varric seems to be the only other one where the rivalry path matters.  You can choose to have Hawke be friends with him or not.
