Huge problem!

My warden was a female city elf who married Alistair who became the king of Ferelden. We had Alistair do the nasty with Morrigan so that we could both live. But the Keep isn't letting me create this world state.

Are you locking in your choices?

What is it asking you to change?

edit- Yeah only a human noble female can become queen. Not a mage or an elf or dwarf.

It was my understanding that an elf couldn't actually marry Alistair and become queen, only remain his mistress.

That was an oversight on Bioware's part that we later fixed for them. There is no reason why a city elf shouldn't have been able to marry Alistair.

If I lock in one change it doesn't let me change the warden back from human to city elf, and if I don't lock in the change it changes the romance to unromanced.

Thing is, Awakening had no problems recognizing me as both Alistair's wife and a city elf. Nor did Dragon Age 2 or the rest of Origins. They both acknowledged that I was an elf and married to Alistair. So it seems a little odd that the Keep won't allow it now.

Who fixed that and how? I'm pretty sure they made the decision knowingly, being that elves are second class citizens and have no place in royalty. Ferelden doesn't seem to care for "knife ears" any more than Orlais does tbh.

However this means that it won't be supported by the keep. It's design is to show the intended Bioware outcomes. So if you used a mod to say marry Alastair as an elf. I am pretty sure you won't get that as an option.

Did you use mods to unlock that choice? I've never heard of a city elf marring Alistair's and becoming queen.  When i tried that at the landsmeet everyone would just laugh in my face. <_<

Because it isn't possible. You have to be a human noble to become king or queen, period.

Considering that I was the savior of Ferelden, the nobles wouldn't have found it odd that I married Alistair despite being a city elf because my status as a hero would have elevated my status. Especially because I was made into nobility by Alistair. So there is no reason why I shouldn't have been able to marry him.

And if you want to talk problems, wouldn't they have objected to Alistair being the son of one of the maids?

And the thing is, the actual switch to allow anyone to marry Alistair really didn't take much, and considering the choice was perfectly valid in every subsequent game makes me think it really was an oversight.

No it's not an oversight. If it can't happen in the game without mods it's not gonna be in the Keep either.

Regardless however, this was not something Bioware intended you to be able to do, hence why you are unable to do this in the keep.

No it isn't and better to come to this realization now.

In terms of lore, they still won't accept an elf as queen even if a warden. Same if they're a mage and a dwarf.

I mean there is even a bug that allows you to romance both Morrigan and Leliana at the same time if you played things out right. But that wasn't intended, so Its not allowed in the keep.  I also used mods or console commands to overcome some things like doing both quests in DA2 saving the dwarfs and nathaniel in the deep roads, but i cant do it in the keep, which i am fine with,

This is one of the most ridiculous thing  I've ever heard in this fandom, and that's saying a lot.

Surely we must set a limit to how much the PC is a special snowflake. The nobles of Ferelden and by and large hugely racists (hell the news that Loghain sells elves into slavery barely sways them in the Landsmeet), so they won't accept a dirty knife-ear as Queen, period. The writers say so, it makes sense in story, so it's not a valid choice.

Is there anything we can do to prevent the narrative from crashing ?

I want to hear at least one time the whole story but it keeps "Oops an error occured" again and again.

I know it's a beta but as far as I explored the keep it's the only thing that won't work correctly and it's frustrating

On friday they said with everyone in the keep who applied that it was a day behind in pulling the data. Now we dont have any numbers but at least naother 100k must be using the keep on top of that it's likely to be a bigger backlog

Possibly, but it's there to fix the problems not let people do two quests that weren't available together (plus they probably happen at the same time if he lives)

Thing is, Fool's Gold is Act II and Finding Nathaniel is Act III.

It's always really confused me as to why these quests are mutually exclusive.  I did honestly believe it was a bug in DA2 that prevented both quests from working, but I guess I was wrong.

One of my favourite Wardens is a Dalish Mage, which is consider a legitimate choice by both DAO and DA2.  Doesn't stop the fact that I have to make her a rogue in the Keep (something I accepted way back when the Keep was first announced.)

To misquote from my favourite movie: 'we'll always have fanfiction.'

"Keep and Amaranthine protected"?

Apparently there was a way to save both.

Yes, if you fully upgraded Vigil's Keep, it would withstand the attack while you saved Amaranthine.

You can still romance him, and be his mistress if he's king. Or just make him a warden and romance him. You just can't be queen and an elf.

The mod affected DA2 as well because it makes The game think your elf was a human.
Elves or dwarves can't sit on a human throne in Thedas. So no, there wasn't an oversight. Your CE can't marry alistair and be queen.
