Everything.
kidding.
'Ah yes. Your decisions matter. The belief that some choices made or not made actually carry on and impact the rest of the saga. We have dismissed these claims.' ![]()
Just kiddin'. I sincerly hope they do.
Major quest plot decisions. Who became King, who made the ultimate sacrifice, whether major plot characters lived or died... etc. A lot of the other stuff will probably only manifest in the form of being referenced, either by a character or by codex entries on things.

I think it'll all have some effect. I liked Varric's narration, but I didn't like that it skipped over all the DLC overviews and didn't talk about whom the Warden/Champion romanced. You'd think the lovers of two of the most important people in the history of Thedas would at least get a passing mention. I have a feeling more minor choices will get added later on, and they might re-do/fix the narration.
I'll tell you which ones won't. Where the hell is Velanna and Sigrun choices?? Pretty much confirms they won't be in DAI.
Yeah I noticed that as well, shame I liked them. Anyone making a crazy warden/hawke who murders as many people as possible?

So what exactly is "Merrill did not stay with Hawke" + "Merrill is alive and well" supposed to be? I thought you always had to kill her if she didn't help you when siding with the templars. Is it supposed to be a "did not recruit Merrill" thing (which wasn't actually an option in DA2)?
My guess is its the reflection of what merrill decides to do at the end of DA2. Like help the elves, work on the mirror, or stay with hawke. So what exactly is "Merrill did not stay with Hawke" + "Merrill is alive and well" supposed to be? What I find most interesting is how Anders' choice is worded, as to whether or not you approved of his actions. I don't know if that's an extremely clumsy way of determining friendship or rivalry, or if the approval choice is tied solely to the star dialogue option you get if he's on 100% friendship--I tried to test this, but my own saves never get uploaded for some reason.
The Keep is not just for importing choices into DAI, but it is also the primary vehicles for importing saves into all future Dragon Age games. So not all your choices are going to affect DAI, but expect most of them to be touched upon in future games.

You can't test it. Story decisions are not uploaded.
At the ending of the game you can agree (or at least, not completely condemn) or disagree with Ander's actions whether or not you are on the friendship or rivalry path.
The Keep is in open beta... so those of you who have questions or concerns about some of the plot choices or the ISS, you should submit Beta Feedback within the Keep
They do read that and do respond to our comments/ideas.
Player made choices regarding the fate of some companions.
Off topic: I am hoping for at least an opportunity to kill Leliana. Not because I dislike her but because I am curious to see if she'll stay dead this time.
Back ontopic: And of course my most important choice: Mage or Templar?

The total lack of a neutral option in that choice irks me.
But one thing I find somewhat more interesting is what's not included. For instance, none of the ending boons in Origins seem to matter. Nor does Sebastian's friendship or rivalry (nor Isabela's or Fenris', though I didn't expect them to).
One inclusion that did shock me was that of Ginnis, a character so minor I initially forgot who she was.

IIRC, I think there's a dialogue option where Hawke can either suggest Merril stays with them, or commit to something else.

Who?

I though that was tied to romance.
Who?
The leader of the Winters, the mercenary company that tries to collect the bounty on Saemus (he of the annoyingly misspelled name).

If that is the case, the mage symbol in the background of her staying and the templar symbol in the background of her not staying is odd.
But IIRC, at the end of the friendship/rivalry path the only option that directly suggests Merrill staying with Hawke is the one available only with romance. The rest are "do whatever you want" or things to do with elves.
I'm disappointed that there's no option for "I killed Kolgrim and his dragon despite defiling the Ashes," just as I suspect that some are disappointed by "Kolgrim is dead and his dragon is not" not being an option. Those both had potential to effect this game that I fear is being missed, and I doubt they'll be added later because it's less than a month to release.
