My Warden isn't showing up in the Keep even after 24 hours

AKA

How to access the Diagnostics page of your DA:O profile

So, your Warden is taking her time and won't appear in the Keep no matter what? You've already waited the recommended 24 hours?

  1. Go to the Legacy Bioware Social Network
  2. Log in with your Origin account (the same one you are using for Keep).
  3. Click on the "My Games", "Dragon Age: Origins" in the left menu
  4. Click on "Profile diagnostics"
  5. By doing all this, you should get access to Profile Diagnostics for Dragon Age: Origins, looks a lot like this:image.png

If you have some characters there, that have red "X" next to their name delete them (don't worry about orange "!", that one is not important).

They are corrupted and won't be uploaded to the Keep. They may also prevent other characters from uploading. You can't save them, you have to delete them and upload them again.

If you no longer have an access to your game/saves you can just use the free Character Creator

If the "On-line storage summary" in the bottom of the page still says you have your profile full (50 files uploaded), delete some of the Wardens then go back to the game and make a new save.

The characters should appear on the diagnostics page shortly after you do that. However, it will take the character a longer amount of time to appear in the Keep (again up to 24 hours), so be patient.

If there are no Wardens on the DIAGNOSTICS page, read this. Mainly the posts by Jesse Reid.

If you are bored and don't mind a little tinkering, you can try the following (this part is only meant for PC users):

This procedure makes sure your game has it's console disabled, there are no mods, you have the latest patch, you are logged in with the right account and you don't have to care about the DA services running since this version of the game doesn't even use that.

  1. Uninstall the game (keep the settings, saves)
  2. Go to the My Documents\BioWare and make a copy of the Dragon Age folder somewhere elsethen delete the original folder (really make sure you made the copy, you'll loose your saves if you don't)
  3. If you bought your game on Steam or on disc, continue reading, if you have it on Origin, skip to step 7
  4. Download EA's Origin, install it and log in (use the same login and password you are using for the Keep)
  5. Copy the serial number of the game from Steam (right click the game in the Library, "View game's CD key") // or find the game's box
  6. In Origin, select "Origin", "Redeem Product Code..." from the top left menu and enter the game's CD key, click "Next"
  7. Install the game from Origin
  8. Fire up the game, you should be automatically logged in now (make sure by checking the bottom left corner in the main menu)
  9. Should a prompt from your firewall appear, make sure you enable the online communications
  10. Alt+Tab out and go back to the copy of Dragon Age folder you made in step 2, open the Characters subfolder and copy the folders with the base game saves back to the My Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Characters (the ones from the base game do not have a number at the end of their name)
  11. If you think you know what you are doing here, you can also copy back any of your mods, it's not recommended but it CAN work with them (I assume you know where the mods belong to)
  12. While logged in load a character (force the load if asked to), unequip your helmet and make a new save, repeat that for every character you want in the Keep
  13. Go back to the Diagnostics page, the Warden(s) should be there now

My Dragon Age Origins Diagnostic site is STILL empty! Where are my characters?

I have abducted them. If you don't send me a cookie, you will never see them again. Or you may try checking if your router or firewall isn't blocking ports needed by the game - these include ports 80, 443, and 18081. I'm not going to write here how to do that though. You'll have to use Google for this one.

You get your personal ID from the DA2 page to use in the DA:O page

This ID is the same for both games, or at least for me it is, it's just easier to get it from the DA2 profile. But if you go to your DA2, click Change Game and then click on DA:O, the link you'd get should have the same persona ID. If you'd go straight for My Games into DA:O the link it gives you doesn't include the ID.

Hmm It seems I'm going to have to do some fiddling as it's not showing DA:O as existing.
TBh I just added it, so faults on me I suppose.

I have had the Keep as a beta for a few weeks now, and every time I tried to upload my wardens it didn't find them, and they didn't show on my player profile either - achievments uploaded though. Now I tried this, and I can see that my wardens are uploaded, but when I try to access their profiles, I just get a white blank page. (Click to make the images bigger.)

They don't sync to the Keep either. I have no trouble with my Hawkes, but this warden thing bothers me. Shouldn't they show up in the keep if the page shows that they have been uploaded to my profile?

I have tried absolutely everything, I've tried uploading my characters without any mods, I don't have the console enabled, I have the latest patch and I use the same Origin account for everything. I've even sent a report to Bioware about this problem but I haven't got a reply. I'd be the happiest girl ever if my wardens just synced but no.

I just noticed I don't have a Dragon Age: Origins profile, even though I own the game and has connected with the servers before. It's strange, because the Keep can read my Origins achievements, but not the Wardens.

I know it doesn't matter in the end, but if DA:O will feature my Wardens and Hawke, I want them to keep their appearances. Or is that unrelated with the Keep?

Hi,

The blank page is unfortunately how it is for everyone. Hence this workaround to get to the diagnostics page. It doesn't however effect your ability to upload characters to the Keep. Three of them should IMO appear in the Keep without any problem. The first one won't since her data are corrupted. If it's really been a long period of time and not a single one of them is in Keep, then the only thing that comes to mind  is trying to delete the first one - the corrupted one and wait a little longer.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Based upon the image all I can see is that Deni probably won't show up due to the corrupted files X's but the other three should have.

Hi,

what do you mean you don't have the profile, it's like a blank page? If so then that doesn't mean you don't have one. It's just how it is right now. Should you try and follow the instructions, you could see for yourself if there are Wardens waiting to be uploaded, or if your profile is full of... something else.

The DA:I will indeed feature your Hawke, but his/her appearance won't be derived from the Keep. You'll get an option to recreate him/her in the game itself.

Nah, none of them are showing up even though I've been resyncing the Keep as often as possible. I deleted the glitched character from there and now I tried again - only one of my wardens showed up, but hey, that's better than nothing. She's the newest, so I'll open DA:O and save the other wardens' profiles and if everything goes like it's supposed to, I think that they'll show up too.

Thank you so much for this thread, now I at least know that there's nothing wrong with the connection between my DA:O profile and the Keep if at least one warden is there.

Glad we were able to help.

I don't really know why should the corrupted character prevent the others from uploading (at least it looks like that's what happened) but I'll update the first post anyway.

I unfortunately always get a blank page, or the invalid persona etc message :/. Thankfully I've already uploaded my main Wardens. Hopefully I won't have a problem with uploading my last three that I plan on eventually using in the Keep.

Do we know if they are planning on fixing those issues?

Edit: Worked now, yay!

It looks like this. I can't check my Dragon Age Origins diagnostics, because they seem to not exist. When I try to open my profile in-game, it says "Profile Not Found".

I tried doing it with my Dragon Age 2 profile, but that got me the "invalid game/persona combination" error.

Looks like you don't have DA:O or DA2 registered, when you highlight side menu under "My Games" is there a link to DA2? if so, try posting the link to your DA2 profile, I'm going to see if I can access your DA:O profile with it.

Hey, thanks a lot for this post!

I re-upped my Warden to the server (deleted all files through the profile diagnostic page then made a new save in-game) but I'm showing "Error Code 1005 - Extra unexpected files uploaded for this character." I'm hoping that's not going to be an issue. I guess I'll have to wait a day or so and see...

Thank you for all the info guys, managed to access the DA:O diagnostics page and deleted all unnecessary files. Waiting for the syncing right now. Hopefull I'll get the desired characters into the Keep soon.

A quick question. Is it possible to delete characters uploaded to the Dragon Age 2 profile? If it's possible, how do you do it? Can't seem to figure it out. Thank you.

My DAO wardens are not showing up on my Bioware Social Network Account. I have the Xbox 360 version and both DAO and DA2 are listed in my games although, My Xbox ID only appears under the DA2 Player profile. (In other words I can access my Hawke but, not my Wardens). I've looked into my DAO storage in game and saw that my "Upload character profile" is checked. I've only played the entire game with my first Warden, which has mutltiple saves from Main game and DLC. I've been seeing Diagnogstic pages for the Social network account, is there a way i can access this?

Also, is there a possible reason and solution for my particular problem?

There is no way to do this for DA2.

The way to access your Diagnostics page is described in the first post.

Thank you for this post! The Keep hasn't been syncing my newest wardens and since checking the diagnostics page I discovered that my online storage was full and they weren't there - deleted some old wardens and now the new ones are showing on the page. Just need to wait and see if the syncing will work in the Keep now, fingers crossed!  :D

UPDATE: My current Warden is now officially synced in the Keep!! Thank you again for this, I was beginning to lose hope!

I have stumbled onto this thread after trying everything to get my DA:O Warden to appear, been waiting over a month with trying fix's. Disabled and Deleted Mods, As far as i can tell no firewall or antivirus is stopping data flow from Origins.
Both of my DA:O and Bioware Account are linked. (DAII Characters are showing up, but not my DA:O)
Upload Character data from the client is active (Logged In), i tried syncing several times over a couple of weeks to no avail. I even un-registered the game and then re-registered it after my workaround (suggested here) gave me this, which suprised me.

So i am pretty lose in general at what to do.

Probably a stupid question, but.... Did you load a Warden in DAO after you un-registered and re-registered DAO on BSN?
