My Hawke and Warden in the keep are exactly correct on the decisions I made in my play-thrus. I think the keep imported from the old BSN your save game data, but will not be letting us upload any new data from Origins or DA2. If you use a default hero in the keep, you will have to enter the decisions you made.

If you never uploaded any characters to the old BSN.. you have to use default.

You have to enter decisions for all chars, not just default ones.

How can you tell if your console is enabled or not? I wouldn't have enabled it on purpose, if it's there it's there because of mods. I'm on Steam.

This is from Wiki:

Open the file "\BioWare\Dragon Age\Settings\KeyBindings.ini" in your My Documents folder. Find the line that says "OpenConsole_0". You can change the value after the equals sign (=) to the key or key combination you want to use for opening the console after running the game.

So if you have somehow the console enabled (but I don't think you do, usually you have to run your game with a -enabledeveloperconsole), if you set the key and run the game, then press the key and the kinda "stops responding" you'll know the console is on.

BTW I think the last point in your other post could be relevant to some people.

Thanks!!

Ok, so I got two of my Wardens in!!! But, they are ONLY the Wardens whose games I re-saved. Also, my original Warden is a little glitchy. Her headshot isn't there, and it thinks she died in Denerim. (This is consistent with the bug in DA2 where, when you meet Alistair, he comments as if the Warden is dead even if she isn't.)

But, she's there! (after waiting a few hours)

The only other thing I did, aside from confirming that the console was off and re-saving my games, was following these directions in the Wiki console page:

It has been observed (after version 1.0.2) that enabling the console may interfere with the BioWare Social Profile updater. If you notice your online profile is no longer updating properly, disable the console and run the game again.

If you're using Windows 7, type services.msc into the search box and open that program. Scroll down until you find "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" and right-click it. Select "Properties" and then check to see if the service is running or not. If it isn't, hit the Start button. Also, if needed, change the startup type to "Automatic" as well. Then hit apply, ok, and then exit. Now run the game and login to your account. Your DLC should work now.

The Keep doesn't import story choices, so it thinks she died in Denerim because that is the default choice.

Hello. I seem to have hit a wall while trying to sync my DAO data.

My copy of the game is the free one that Origin was giving a way a few weeks back. As I understand it, it cannot be registered, so, no access to the diagnostic page?

Regardless, I did all the suggested steps: it's a clean install, no mods, developer console is disabled, I started up my saves and re-saved them several times. No luck.

Then, as I attempted to force the data upload by uploading screenshots as was suggested in one of the FAQs, I got the "Unable to access your online profile storage. The account information provided may be invalid." error. Anyone got any idea if that's somehow indicative of my syncing problem? Something I could do? (I tried googling it with no luck.)

My achievements for DAO sync fine, regardless of whether they were unlocked a month ago or yesterday. My DA2 data is completely synced, Hawkes and achievements both.

Any ideas?

P.S. Oviously, I know that importing a Warden avatar is only a superficial feature for personal satisfaction, and if they don't upload, then no big deal, but I'm still curious?

I'm telling you that all my decisions were correct in the tapestry in the keep the way I played my games. I did not have to change anything.

That just means that you played a default game because there is no story data uploaded into the Keep.

I can only tell you that the "Unable to access..." error doesn't mean anything. Anyone will get it when trying to get to their profile from the game. If you have DA2, you still have a shot at trying to reach the diagnostics page for DA:O. You see the link to your DA2 profile will also have a persona ID at the end. Copy that one and continue from step 9 of the guide.

:( I had only looked at one from each game. It even got my decisions from Awakening right. +Sooooo why even bother including all the chars if they are all the same.

Thank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. It gives me Invalid persona/game combination error page.

I also don't think that it doesn't mean anything: in one of the Keep twitch streams BioWare created a new DAO character through the separate Character Creator. It has "Upload Info" as the last step. That should sync to the Keep. I just attempted the same trick, and it gives me the same "Unable to access..." error, so I would think it's exactly the reason behind my problem.  :(

Using the DA:O Character Creator won't change your BSN records. They will still show the same "invalid persona" message as before.

Instead, once you hit the Upload button, the character should go direct to the Keep (may take about 30 minutes). Go to the Tapestry, use the menu button in the top left-hand corner and choose Heroes from the drop-down menu. Your new character should be there alongside all the default ones.

You put them in different world states and you can tell which world state is which based off of the char names and the profile pics. Or at least that is what my assumption for the use was.

Ugh, this is simply the most frustrating thing. I was finally able to select one of my wardens in the keep after creating them in the character creator demo. But alas, apparently I've reached the maximum number of files I'm able to store online, but am unable to do anything about it because I'm only reaching the "Invalid persona/game combination" page. It appears as if I'm stuck using generic wardens until Bioware resolves the issue.

I understand, and I'm not checking in with BSN, I am checking the Heroes menu.

Except it's clearly not uploading. It gives me this message about being "Unable to access online storage", an "Upload Info" line blinks on top of it, it's not connecting to anything, and no upload actually happens.

I don't mean to be contrary, and I'm sorry if I'm drawing some erroneous conclusions here -- this is just the only thing that seems not tow work, so I latched onto it as a possible root of my inability to sync.  ^_^

That's because even Character Creator uses BSN, nothing goes straight to Keep. If it gives you that kind of error, the only option is to contact Bioware directly, or to wait. I'm sorry.

On an unrelated note, I'm not going to be here for the next couple of days so you guys will have to help yourselves. Good luck.

It doesn't matter that much to me if the appearance/name imports. I was just wondering if maybe it was something that I was doing wrong and could fix manually. I think I'll give it a rest then. :3

Ah okay. I've used the Character Creator several times without problem, notwithstanding the fact that I still get the "invalid persona" message, so it's not that. (Or at least not only that!)

I've never had the "Unable to access online storage" message, though, so maybe that's a clue. Can't help any further, I'm afraid.   :(

You know, the photo [to my left] of one of my original Wardens was taken from the old forum back when all of my achievements and stuff had been depicted there. Since gaining access to the Keep, and after trying every suggestion - none of my characters have ever synched.

I have carefully determined my slate of world states which are raring to go, but given the absence of save records that have somehow gone kerflooey, I really fear that I will just end up with squat upon activating an Inquisition run. What if my imported Keep world states won't go through after have recreated them?

As another non-syncher, I've had the same concern. The key seems to be that you must ensure the platform you are going to play on is linked to your Origin account (mine was PSN, but the same principle applies to others, obviously).

Here's the thread where I raised it (and eventually got comfortable with the answer!):

Huh, never thought of the World Saves not importing though.  But I think we'd be fine, the only sync part not going through is the 2D pictures of my warden/hawke.

still not working, done all the suggestions, new saves and editing, only finds 2/4 characters and of those pretty much doesn't even remember most of my choices like even basic things such as romance, hopping it gets fixed cause atm it isn't any point.

It will not import your choices. Any of them.

If some tiles in the Tapestry currently reflect the choices you made in DA:O and/or DA2, that's just a coincidence.

You always have to complete every tile in the Tapestry manually if you want it to properly reflect your game choices.

Even if BW eventually manages to get syncing to work properly, this won't change. The Keep just isn't intended to work that way.
