In my playthrough, both alistair and warden were alive at the end of the game. Alistair became king and warden survied the battle with archdemon. However in dragon age keep one of them has to die killing archdemon. Is that a bug or intentional?

You need to make sure you romanced Morrigan and did the Dark Ritual m8, at the least make sure the Dark ritual option was done sorry, no need to romance Morrigan

You don't need to do the romance. Alistair or the Warden have to do the Dark Ritual for both to live.

There are occasionally bugs during syncing. I had the same issues with some things not transferring correctly when I started several months ago, but you can change it so that it's right for your playthrough:)

I'll have to check my sync data as well and make some changes to what's there. I know for a fact I let Connor live but Keep gave him an axe to the side and killed him off.

This is because Morrigan not having the baby is default. You have to change that first, then go back to Alistair's fate.

Some choices require you to set some stuff beforehand, the "mutually exclusive" isn't perfect.
For example, for Warden and Alistair to be alive at the same time you need to have one of these two:
- Loghain died killing Archdemon (with Alistair being King)
- did the Dark Ritual

Thats because that's the default resting state for the keep. Which you need to change. If it was an actual import everyone would kill Isolde

This. Syncing a character to the keep does not import any decisions you've made. Just the name, race/origin/class, and portrait.

Actually, my decisions imported...mostly. Still a little buggy, but it seemed to work for me.

Conscript Loghain into the Wardens, make him kill the Archdemon

The easiest way to do this would to be select one of these characters as alive AND select the "padlock" icon to lock that choice. Do the same for the other character, and the Keep should automatically "solve" that the Dark Ritual must have happened. It will either set that choice automatically if you've not modified it before, or prompt you to approve the needed change(s) if you have.

Thank you. I wish I'd known that trick while I was trying to set up my King-Cousland-with-Alistair-in-the-party playthrough. (Things got really confused because the Keep apparently only looks for one way to solve any conflict of decisions, and evidently thought the highest priority was that the OGB not have been born [it should perhaps be noted that in this game it WAS] rather than whatever else was keeping me from deciding that Loghain had not, in fact, done the US.)

There is a "Tapestry Tutorial" that walks one through how to make and lock a choice. I had a small nightmare like you when I first entered the beta and was one of the ones pushing very hard for some kind of tutorial to be added to help first-time Keep users, particularly one that pointed out how important the lock button can be on choices.
Unfortunately, looks like it's being missed and/or folks are so excited to get started that they're diving right in and then end up doing battle with Justin's mighty Auto-Solver. LOL
Actually, my decisions imported...mostly. Still a little buggy, but it seemed to work for me.
Nope. Just coincidence that your choices mostly matched the default ones in the Keep.

You can have Alistair rule with Anora, then have Loghain die killing the Archdemon (or doing the ritual).

Possible with the Loghain reedemer ending.
