Considering how much bigger Bioware has made the "open world" areas, I imagine there will be much to explore. It's definitiely different looking compared to what Redcliffe was in Origins, and in my opinion it looks much better now.

The layout appears to be different. Still on a lake but the castle is in the wrong place. Source the game play video someone already linked.
Do you know a lots of people who would have stayed in a castle that had undeads come out from for like a week?

Not sure how that's related to what I wrote

Would be cool to run into old townsfolk. We don't know who's in charge of Redcliffe? Id be curious to see if the keep has an impact
I believe Teagan becomes the Arl in certain epilogues. At least if Eamon stays in Denerim to help Alistair rule, if the Warden stays as chancellor, Eamon goes back home.
Teagan is also referred to with the title "Arl" at least in one issue of the Silent Grove-comic, and perhaps even in Act 3 of Dragon Age, I am not completely sure. This could of course mean any number of things, Eamon might be dead or Teagan could simply be the Arl of another province, like Denerim for example.
Oh right, to answer your question: none of these possibilities are present as choices in the Keep.

The castle was probably destroyed and rebuilt after the even of DAO just to make sure there is no more undeads around.

I wonder what happened to Arl Eamon and some of the villager. A few villagers choices can be made in the Keep. Wonder if they will show up in DAI as random NPC n such

Considering how expensive castles are, yes.

Neither... for it does not exist...

So the cliff the castle stood on overlooking the town and possibly ruins should exist. Right?
I'm guessing this won't be the case though. It would be cool if it was, but no, its far more likely to be a complete redesign. Or re-imagining in their words.

From what was shown it looks very different. In DAO the castle was atop of tall rock surrounded by a lake. In DAI it appears that rock was converted to a much flatter island. The castle has also completely different shape, all square and angular where the one in DAO had round towers and circular layout.Title pretty much says it all.
We'll be able to visit Redcliffe in Inquisition, but what will it look like? A decade has passed in the world of Thedas, so much is likely to have changed. However, will it still resemble the original village and castle that we visited in Origins, or will it be Redcliffe only in name?

I tend to metaphorically roll my eyes when I hear people complain about stuff I don't think is a problem, but I have to confess, stuff like this actually really bugs me, because for someone visual-memory based, it's like changing an actor to one of another hair color and ethnicity for no explicable reason - it really does mess with my emersion.

I'll be honest, I'd rather have some slightly uglier areas faithful to old maps than unexplained redesigns of old areas.
Still excited for game, blah blah blah, but a complete Redcliffe redesign does make me sad.

Why are so many people saying Redcliffe was destroyed in the Blight? It most certainly was not, I saved the damn thing. Even if you left the village to its own devices at the Battle at Nightfall, the undead attacked the people, not the village. After the Landsmeet the village is overrun with darkspawn but certainly not destroyed. The people evacuate safely inside the castle, and it is stated by numerous characters that this was a small force, whereas the bulk of the horde is marching on Denerim.
As stated in various letters in DA2, most of the refugees from Lothering relocated to Redcliffe. They wouldn't do that if the village was destroyed. The epilogue of Origins also says that the village quickly got back on its feet and was soon booming.
People are saying Redcliffe was destroyed because that's what happened when you return to Redcliffe after the Landsmeet. The Darkspawn had taken the town, and presumably torched most of it... They didn't kill anyone living there(I'm sure they all made it to the Castle), but that doesn't mean the town itself wasn't destroyed.
With everyone having been saved from the Undead attack, however, the town could probably be rebuilt rather quickly... Which would explain why all those from Lothering relocated there(because the town would need to be rebuilt, and the people of Lothering would have just as much of a chance to get prime real estate).

I think most are referring to the Darkspawn invasion that happened after the Landsmeet. Not to mention, just because the bulk of the horde was at Denerim, doesn't necessarily mean that Redcliffe didn't suffer another attack during the final battle. Based on the comics and novels, most of Ferelden was effected by the Blight and the entire nation had to rebuild. Specifics are never given, but it's plausible.

I feel the same way. It just reminds you that you're playing a game. You go back to Redcliffe Village and remember a totally different place than what you see before you.

If the cliffs are still red it's accurate enough.

With the time leap and latest graphics, do you really want to see Redcliff the way it was in DA:O? I'm guessing not. It would look pretty funny compared to the rest of the DA:I world.

I would like to see a Redcliffe that at least resembled the one we saw in Origins. Redcliffe was located on a cliff and was next to a body of water -- Lake Calenhad I think. Other game series have recreated older levels in newer engines, so it wouldn't be the first time. I think that the new Redcliffe should keep some of those details.
