Marvel wouldn't have changed its Phase 3 slate and pushed the release date of 4 of their movies if they weren't sure they could totally control the creative material of Spider-Man. That's what kept the deal from being struck before. That's what Marvel wanted but Sony refused to give away. But now things are different. Point is, Marvel knows what they're doing.

It was already stated that Sony has powe and rights over Spiderman. It's more likely that they decided to fully cooperate and that Both abandoned the idea of Having full control over the franchise.
Unless What they Said about Sony's powers is false, though I don't see the reason To lie about It.

I'm kinda hoping that Spidey won't be a teenager yet again, even the college age Spidey has been done to death. Why can't we show him working as a photographer for the Bugle and in his mid-to-late twenties, having been Spiderman for a couple years at this point? After all, Banner's been the Hulk for a while before we encounter him in both the Avengers and Incredible Hulk, with only a brief explanation of his backstory to get us up to speed?

Sure, having him be Spiderman for a while might raise the question of why we've never heard any peep from him before in the MCU, since a guy web-slinging around New York seems like it'd be news? Or where he was during the events of Avengers?

I suppose they could handwave it away that SHIELD had enough on their plate after the events of Avengers, The Dark World and the Winter Soldier to deal with him? And during the Avengers, he was instead focussing on protecting the civilians more than actually fighting back the Chitauri?

Sadly l don't think they went this way. His absence during the invasion Would make no sense in my opinion, as well as Fury no trying to recruit him.
The rumours of Parker Being in High school seem to confirm him acquiring his powers post-Avengers.

They still don't have creative control over Spiderman, Sony still holds that.

From RZIBARA's thread:

Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films, though Feige’s involvement as a producer seems to indicate Marvel is heavily involved in the series now.

Sony has "Final" creative control over the franchise. Which means they get to say Yes or No only. Nothing more, Nothing less. They still own and distribute the Franchise. Which means that you'll get a share of the profits. But I don't think they're in position to dictate creative demands on Marvel at all. Judging form the company's situation. And also, Judging from that Marvel brokered the deal, Which would have never involved having Sony's creative team touch Spider-Man.

As i said, Final creative control doesn't mean that they control the franchise creatively.

If they can say "yes or no" to what happens to it...

This just makes me think in 30 years that they will re-release the original Marvel movies with CGI "enhancements" like this, just like Star Wars.

Yes. However, As i also said, What held the deal from happening was Marvel's desire to have full creative control over the franchise. So, I don't think they'd say yes to a deal where they don't control the creative material completely. The thing is, Financial deals are complex, They can appear to be something in the beginning but later develops into a totally another thing by using the easily tweaked tiny details of the deal. This can work both for Marvel and against it. But i as i said, I don't think they'd have agreed to go forward with this deal if they didn't have a plan.

Even if he acquires his powers post-avengers (let alone AoU), it still doesn't require that Peter is in high school. He can get bit by a radioactive spider at any point in his life.

Geriatric Spiderman FTW!!!

Has there been any further news about the Secret Wars Marvel reboot? What the future holds? Why it resets? Anything?

It's not really a reset per -say. The basic gist of it is that instead of having different universes/realities  (such as earth-616, Ultimate and AOA)  characters from each will end up on a new planet or earth called Battleworld. The cool part about it is the fact that they are keeping everything intact when it comes to events, stories and characters from the various universes and realities. The are not starting from scratch like the new 52 did. So, it opens up the door for some really cool ideas. Such as an X-Men team made up of Ultimate X-Men, AOA X-men and various other incarnations of X-Men. They also said that they will be bringing back some fan favorite characters who died off at some point.

Right, but once the Secret War is over after the events happen on Battleworld... what next? Has any of that been discussed?

Nope, they have not said much. Though, truth be told I have not really been really fallowing it that much. I have an issue with big comic event's so I tend to skip over them. It use to be that a big event, especially those that are universe wide, where a rare thing. So when one did happen, it was a big deal. Now that big events are the norm, it has really cheapened the entire idea. The only reason I know anything about the up and coming Secret World event is simply due to the fact that I will probably introduce some major changes to every Marvel book.

So this panel from the final issue of SpiderVerse is a thing.

mtKDNr3.jpg

Good chance the Toby Macguire and Andrew Garfield Spider-Mans died in the fight against Morlun.

And there's no way to confirm or deny it, unless you ask Dan Slott.

This has nothing to do with the new MCU Reboot, just the timing for the book was a strange coincidence.

But I have a good feeling Italian Spider-Man came out unscathed.

To be honest, I'd much rather just come to my own conclusions on the matter as it'd probably be 100% better than whatever Slott came up with.

Fair enough. I doubt the Epilogue will say anything about it.

Don't think Sony would particularly like their versions of Spider-Man killed off so soon after the Marvel collab announcement either.

Have you guys heard about all the details Fox revealed about the original plans for X-Men: DOFP?

Apparently, Matthew Vaughn, First Class' Director wanted to recast Wolverine. I don't know why. And he also had a different quicksilver scene in mind. "And it sucked". And given that a guy at fox said that DOFP was basically 90% Matthew Vaughn's story, I can easily predict that Fox's next X-Men screw-up will be very soon. And most likely gonna be "X-Men: Apocalypse".

http://comicbook.com...ver-scene-was-/

http://comicbook.com...xciting-enough/

And given that he was supposed to be X-Men: DOFP's director, I can see this coming very soon.

No doubt the Quicksilver scene in DoFP was really cool but using Juggernaut would've made more sense.

Now all think of when I see DoFP is ...

FOX should really bring Matthew Vaughn back to X-men. I just watched Kingsmen and he has certain style and humor I really enjoy.

Like removing Hawkeye, since aside from helping Loki when he's brainwashed, he doesn't really do anything relevant for the rest of the movie? Poor Hawkeye... I like the actor and character, but they just have never had anything decent for him to do in either movie he's been in? Hopefully AoU will fix that and give him an actual decent subplot for once?

Same with Black Widow, she felt really tacked on most of the films she's been in, only really becoming an actually enjoyable and watchable character in her own right in Winter Soldier with her awesome interaction with Cap. After that, I think they should nix the Cap and Agent 13 relationship they were considering putting into Winter Soldier and have him instead end up with Nat, because there's some great subtext in their banter and minor ship-teasing if you interpret it that way?
