SS isn't even Marvel. It's DC.

This too. If we're lucky, Suicide Squad will just be a live-action version of Assault on Arkham (because let's face it, AoA isn't a Batman movie despite having Batman in the title). Of course, DC wants to be all gritty and angsty, so it will almost certainly be stupid like Man of Steel was. Speaking of Man of Steel, Ben Affleck's batsuit makes him look old and fat, and the suit itself looks like it's made out of denim. I know they were trying to make it resemble the batsuit from The Dark Knight Returns, but it just looks bad on Batffleck.

Also, exactly what is the deal with Superman v. Batman? From the leaks I've heard, it sounds like Batman's involvement is just lifted from TDKR (everything from the costume to fighting Superman in a mech suit), but Snyder insists that he isn't ripping off TDKR. Needless to say, I'm not particularly enthused to see Batman v. Superman, especially after the Nolan movies and Man of Steel. DC's live-action movies are miles behind Marvel's.

Speaking of SS, out of all the cast members Will Smith looks the most badass lol

His Deadshot outfit is pretty cool, yeah. Is he going to have a helmet (like Deadshot SHOULD have) or a stupid gimp mask like in Arkham City? Google image searching isn't helpful at all.

Will Smith played J in the Men In Black films, which are technically Marvel films, since they published the MIB comics. Lol.

Will LOL if J and K make a surprise appearance in the MCU.

It's also a shame DC wasted a good actor who could've played a role in future Marvel Movies

It's a shame he can't act as different characters, which is why i'm worried.

Robert Downey Jr IS Deadshot, but I guess they can't do that while he's doing Iron Man.

But my problem is Will Smith is like Keanu Reeves, Jack Black, Johnny Depp, etc.  They don't/can't play different characters (Most of the time).  They just play...themselves.

Assault On Arkham is actually a prequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum.  Its directly tied to the videogames.

But agreed.  it will probably suck.

And he's going to have a full white face mask with a nerf scouter over the eye, but I GUARANTEE you it'll be like Firefly's mask in GIJOE 2 and he'll have to take it off immediately to show off the actor instead of the character.

But back on topic.  Scarlet Witch's powers.  Why weren't they in the film? They just turned her into Jean Grey.

I'm aware. I own the movie. Batman also barely features in it, the focus is by and large cast on the Suicide Squad. Hence, it isn't a "Batman movie" despite his name being on the tin. Batman only takes the center stage at the very end, prior to that he only plays a supporting role.

Side discussion, an oldie but goodie.

Why the crap is Deadpool what everyone complained about in Wolverine Origins, when he was the only character in the entire film to even resemble who he's supposed to be?

I always hear stupid crap like "His mouth is sewn shut" or "stupid baraka blades".  The former is a callback to Stryker's comment that he'd be the perfect soldier if it werent for the mouth, plus do you really think anyone in control of wade WOULDNT want to shut him up?  And the latter is Stryker trying to one up wolverine.  Both points made sense in the context of the movie.  He's not deadpool yet.  He's Wade Wilson and then a Weapon X Project.

But oh no, people woulda rather whined about that, instead of say, them being lazy and using a really cheap fatsuit for the blob, or turning "being huge" from his superpower to an eating disorder "REALLY?", or making both Mavericks totally unrecognizeable as different races, ages, and ones a villain.  Or how Sabertooth was made into Wolverines Brother, or how Wolverine is tall, clean shaven and nice, rather than the hairy little troll of a caveman he normally is.  Silver Fox being given random empathy powers.

But no.  Wade getting his mouth sewn shut is what ruined the movie, apparently.  Gah.

I'm pretty sure everyone complained and said the movie was crap, but ruining Deadpool was the biggest nail in the coffin

But the point is that out of everyone in the film, he's the only one who WASN'T ruined.  Only really inexcusable thing was giving him optic blasts.  He had the humor, the combat skills, the scarring, the costume, the swords, etc.  Just didn't use guns (yet).

Like I'll say that they could have made an awesome Deadpool movie off of the origins version, but I'm scared to death of this "truer to the comics" version I keep hearing is coming.

And the fact that they took 3 of 5 away (along with crappy Baraka arms) is what ruined the character. Deadpool is literally one of the easier characters to not screw up and they managed to do it

When people heard DeadPool was gonna appear in the movie they expected the character minus the 4th wall breaking, they did fine with Ryan Reynolds in the beginning but went NOPE

Well, Fox is getting a second chance to do the character right.

I leave for a day and someone starts defending X-Men Origins Wolverine of all things?

Wow.

I'm more surprised this statement was uttered.

Just. Wow.

That's like someone saying Smallville would've led into a great Superman movie.

Anyway, I hope you guys don't destroy my thread while I'm gone, because I'm gonna be off for a while now.

Not really.  At the end of the movie he's Weapon XI.  So with that in mind, they got him perfect.  He whooped Wolverine and Sabertooth's asses together.

Only thing they took away was his mouth, which was the POINT.  Stryker wanted him to shut up, so he made him shut up (Mouth was reopened in his 4th wall breaking teaser ending though)

Well, Fox is getting a second chance to do the character right.

I really doubt it.  Every other marvel hero is becoming the "wiseass", which is usually Wades thing (Iron Man and Starlord, for example).

I'm getting the feeling this will be like Howard the Duck.  Yeah the terrible 80s movie.

I'm just under the impression this will be outright horrible, whereas at least with Origins, the problem is viewers go in expecting Deadpool,. when he's not Deadpool YET, still just Wade in Weapon X.

Better than Superman Returns, at least.

Howard the Duck allowed for Pixar to be founded. (That's actually true before you try to call bs on me)

So anything about that movie can be forgiven.

I get the feeling you didn't watch all of Smallville like I did. Because that show was horrible.

Superman Returns might be more boring than watching paint dry but at least it's not offensively bad like anything involving Lana Lang.

It's what the movie did was the issue

Deadpool isn't the only wiseass character in Marvel, how this is an issue is beyond me

And how was viewer expecting Deadpool their fault when the movie did poor job with "Weapon XI" to begin with

Yeah, never thought I'd see the day.

I mean, I'll stick up for The Wolverine, but that movie at least has some redeeming qualities.

...Before the big dumb Silver Samurai robit shows up...

Well that would be a bit difficult to do correctly in a movie.

He was the actual villain as far as I was concerned. Good popcorn flick though

On-topic: Feige made a HUGE blunder when he green-lighted another Spidey flick with ANOTHER young white dude as the protagonist. It has been done in FIVE films for the love of the Goddess! Please, why not give us something unique, interesting, anything but the same old, tired Peter Parker character.

:pinched:
