Anyone have an idea where Red Skull ended up after The first avenger?

No where. He's dead. Hugo Weaving doesn't want to come back.

They changed War Machine after the first movie I don't see why they couldn't get someone else.

Nothing about Johnny Storm's character requires him to be white. I'd argue a thin Ben Grimm infringes on the character's nature more than a black Human Torch.

Likewise, there's no reason for him to be made black. Johnny and Susan are blood siblings in almost every continuity (I say "almost" because I'm not sure if there's one where they aren't), and Johnny being a different ethnicity throws a wrench into this. Granted, to the movie's credit they actually address this by making Johnny into Sue's adopted brother instead of a biological sibling, but there is literally no reason for this change.

Except that Michael B. Jordan is a phenomenal young actor that I'm happy to see in any movie?

I can't exactly say I'm thrilled that Grover from the Percy Jackson movies is playing the Human Torch.

I'm so torn. Because he's great. But this movie is an atrocity and I don't want to give Fox my money.

What's wrong with Grover?

In all seriousness, MBJ killed it in Friday Night Lights and Chronicle.

Agreed. I really dislike how it's looks to be another Reed Richards worship movie. We get it - stretching is a lame power and he needs to be smart as well. Whoop-dee-do.

Other than the fact that Johnny Storm is white.

With his White Sister on the team.

And making the black guy catch on fire was some terrible foresight.

The only thing I'd have a problem with black Human Torch is if they do the "adopted route" with him an Sue Storm

They did.  they made Sue adopted.

Sue and Johnny are siblings in the comics. Casting one of them as a different ethnicity screws this up. Why do that? What's the point? All of a sudden Hollywood has a problem with all white casting or something?

They do. as I said in my HUGE post above, Hollywood is hell bent on forcing diversity into everything, even when it causes problems and/or doesn't make any sense, like in this new FF movie.

No reason whatsoever, especially when there's literally tons of actors qualified for the role that don't require rearranging the story and setting to cast them.

Like I said, I'm getting really tired of them trying to cram a "Token ethnic diversity" into everything.

Start promoting the actually black characters, not just casting black guys as white characters.

Again, can you imagine the crapstorm there woulda been if a white guy had been cast as Falcon or War Machine?  There's nothing saying they have to be black after all.  But you don't do it because THATS NOT WHO THE CHARACTER IS.

It's really hard to get into a comic book movie when I'm staring at somebody who looks literally NOTHING like who they're supposed to be playing.  That's ****** poor casting, if you ask me.

Except that Michael B. Jordan is a phenomenal young actor that I'm happy to see in any movie?

So then shouldn't you be picketing for him to be cast in more appropriate roles where he can shine, instead of miscast as characters he doesn't suit?

Everyone knows who Johnny Storm is.  This is the FIRST SUPERHERO FAMILY.  It doesn't matter how good the actor is if they don't fit the character.

Crossbones' costume in Civil War:

Not gonna lie, that's really badass and a lot better than I was expecting.

Heres hoping he keeps the mask on. (He won't).

But that doesn't matter.

Then I agree about it being dumb and they should've either made Sue black or kept Johnny white

The bolded part however is just ridiculous

I'm honestly starting to think you and Slither are trolling because you two are the only one making a big deal over something stupid like this

What?! Why? He fn nailed it! He was my favorite character in the movie!

One of my favorite scenes:

Injured survivor soldier: "We fought to the last man."

Red Skull: "Evidently not." *shoots him*

Me and my brother use it as a catch phrase ffs. *sigh* Ah well whatever.

Wow, I can't believe how people are acting about Black Widow getting captured. First off, she's the single weakest member of the Avengers- no brains, no money, no actual powers, doesn't even carry equipment to fight at range like Hawkeye does- secondly, from her position as a prisoner she managed to contqct the Avengers and lead them right to Ultron's ground zero instead of lying around waiting to be rescued and crying.

Tumblr idiots are stupid.

Another thing that cements my distaste for the new Fantastic Four movie: Doctor Doom being a tween angsty hacker emo kid. He was bad enough in the 2004 F4 movie, but this is literally not Doctor Doom in any capacity other than name. He shares not a single characteristic with the "real" Doom.

And what the hell is it I'm hearing about how they gain their powers? I hear it's not caused by cosmic radiation anymore, but by Reed Richards doing some experiment in his garage and teleporting them into an alternate dimension?

If these changes are as drastic as they sound, why in the f*** is this a Fantastic Four movie and not just a new IP? There's no need to s*** all over the comic's good name by butchering the films based on them. The characters have the same names as they do in the comic, and the Four's powers are largely the same, but literally everything else is different. Normally I'm not opposed to changing things in adaptations (it's inevitable and necessary for the adaptation to work, imo), but this is taking it too far. It barely even resembles the Fantastic Four at this point.

This, my issues with the new FF movies goes way past Johnny being black and Sue being adopted

The movie feels like a DMC level reboot

The bolded part is just because of poor taste jokes I've heard.

It's the only thing that matters - best talent involved in making the movie.

ehno.

Not when you are casting people to portray specific other people.

You don't just throw "talent" at the script and hope for the best, that's stupid.

MBJ Does not fit the role.  It doens't matter how "Talented" he is, he's a poor choice for Johnny Storm.

Its based more On ULtimate version like all movies.  In Ultimate FF they get their powers from exploring the Negative Zone instead of cosmic rays.

I agree, just drop the FF name and there wouldn't be any issues.

That explains it. The only Ultimate series I've ever followed was Ultimate Spider-Man, and that got s****y too.

Also, "all movies"? Besides this new Fantastic Four movie, I can't think of any other Marvel films that borrow much from the Ultimate series, if anything at all. The last I remember that happening was when Rise of the Silver Surfer's version of Galactus somewhat resembled Gah-Lak-Tus from Ultimate Fantastic Four.

Umm that's generally how movies go, no one else seems to have a problem with it

This is why all comic book movies dealing with Marvel characters need to be made by Marvel studios. Fox has dug themselves out of the stink a little bit with First Class and DoFP, but the first three X-Men movies were either terrible when they came out or have aged poorly.

Wrecking Doom is what is unforgivable. He's one of the best comic villains. That the MCU doesn't have Doom is bad enough. But to just do this to the character...
