Everything that makes a character is part of the character. Race and skin color included.

Don't change things for no good reason. (And no, MUH DIVERSITY is not a good reason)

You have superheroes that match the desired race/sex! Use them! Expand on them.

Failing that, create new ones.

Don't frak with existing ones.

Would you rather see Miles Morales as Spiderman instead of Peter Parker in the MCU movies?

Or to make the question simpler, would you rather see a movie where they didn't go over Peter Parker's origin again?

Fox has to make a Fantastic Four movie. And by has to, I mean they will legally lose the rights to the franchisearrow-10x10.png if they don't exercise the option.

So if they are making a new FF movie, would you rather they just repeat the 2005 movie, with your standard cosmic ray origin story, standard Reed and Sue romance arc, standard Human Torch and Thing feud? Same exact chafacters that have been done to death by now?

I can't believe I'm defendingarrow-10x10.png this movie, because it looks like trash. But the casting of the Human Torch is not the reason for it.

Are you telling me you can't alter the origins of character either to be different or to make it more palatable to today's audience without changing their race?
Because the Ultimate Fantastic Four did it.

http://en.wikipedia...._Fantastic_Four

What upsets me is that the casting decisions was based not how it just makes so much more sense and improves the story to have Suse be adopted by Johnny's Black family but rather on how 4 White protagonists is, apparently, "too many White People".

If they had made Falcon White in Winter Soldier, Tumblr and Twitter would have burned to the ground.

the thing is the Bigwigd dont want to upset tha apple cart.

WE know who Miles Moralis, Miguel O'Hara, Terry McGuinis and JeanPaul Vally are.

The Joe pubic dosnt.

The fillin character dosenot have the box office draw as the Esablished character.

Sure some buts were hurt about the Sater-Torch (Nou going to give that up.)

But thats still Jhonny Storm only with a black actor.

Miles is a lesser known character. coolness and greatness aside ask your mum oe any 5 yearold who Spiderman is.

Or Captai America or even Iron Man. no one will say Ben Riley Sam Wilson or Arnold Stark.

They arent going to in the first place! Christ I don't know how clear I can make that.

And how are you exactly going to work in Miles' origin anyway? Did Peter Parkers Spider-Man die during the Chitauri Invasion? That's a rather depressing retcon to the first Avengers.

I'm sorry. But you have no idea how annoying it is to have people say the same wrong fact again and again.
The movie is going to skip the origin. Kevin Feige has said as much.

Also Asa Butterfield is the new Spider-Man. That's happening. Get over it.

Now stop talking about racial casting. It's a conversation that leads no where good.

Yeah, not a big fan of this casting. Even between the 18-19 range there Are better pick, in my opinion. Though my favourite (considering they weren't gong with a 30 year old Spiderman) was Dylan O'brien.
I hope to be proven wrong Though.

Agreed.
Plus, I don't see how it'd work with the Marvel collaboration. Assuming they'll wait the end of IW for the second movie, there'll be three years between the first and the second already. The time between the first and the fourth will make Asa looks too old to be in high school.

That's also why I dislike movies that uses child stars, they end up waiting too long for sequels and the actors get too old for the roles (harry potter was one of the few that got it right)

Yeah, but it took a production schedule that was beyond terrifying. For close to a decade straight, they worked non-stop on those movies. The sheer logistics of it all is mind boggling.

Apparently they want his age to be a shock when it is reveled to the other characters.

I get this, (if I recall, SM was quite young When he first met the Avengers) though 4 movies About high school would be over the top.
So I guess the Avengers Will know that he's Peter Parker?

Why Olivia Wilde exactly?

I've never been impressed with her acting abilities.

I enjoy her performances. I wouldn't give any of those that I've seen a dramatic award, but I feel the same way about Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans, and I'm pretty happy with their Avengers casting despite the fact that they've never completely floored me with their nuance or sophistication as actors.

Also, I allow for the possibility that performers might surprise me. My initial reaction to hearing about Heath Ledger cast as the Joker was derision, which is just embarrassing now.

Just as importantly, I think she's charming, beautiful, and she'd bring a certain humanity to the role. She's fun, and I think she'd make the performance fun.

About Chris Evans/Captain America, someone said to me that Jensen Ackles was considered for the part. Does anyone recall if it's true?

He's a good actor.

I'd say who I've always wanted him to play.

But I don't want to sidetrack to DC.

He was next in line if Chris Evans turned down the role again, Jensen also passed on the role of Hawkeye in The Avengers
