Is that what sets this one apart now? It's a "Marvel Studios" flick?

*sigh* I thought every previous attempt was fine. I didn't even mind that last reboot...

It's in the MCU. Which gives it more of a point. I liked Amazing 1 and 2, but I'd rather have Spidey swinging with the Avengers and Defenders. Because that's where he belongs.

What I'm more interested in is the director Jon Watts. Because he's pretty much an unknown.

Only thing on his IMDB I've seen is Our Robocop Remake. Less said about that the better.

Marvel Studios Spiderman is now cast.

He actually looks like an decent choice. Not too young to look like an brat but also old enough to look like an high schooler. Let's hope his acting doesn't disappoint.

It would also be nice to see Spider Gwen in the cinematic universe, but so far they haven't touched on the alternate universe subject.

Well, it's taking part in the Marvel Studios movie universe? That's a pretty big plus.

He's first appearing in next year's Civil War movie, which will have every hero in the Marvel movie universe in it. None of the other Spider-man movies had any other heroes in it.

I get it - I'm really fatigued on the whole "high school spider-man set up" thing, as we've seen it now over a dozen movies and TV shows in the past 15 years. But it's all set in the same Marvel movie sandbox narratively, so that's a big part of the equation.

I'm so pumped to see Benedict play that role.

The cast is so insanely good that it would actually be a feat of epic proportions to screw it up. The script would have to be so terrible that the SW prequels look like Oscar contenders.

I liked Revenge of the Sith more than Empire Strikes back.

Commence the public stoning.

I think he means the movie that started the Cartoon Network show

All are inferior to Tartovsky and kneel in his presence.

Awesome! Finally the Charlie Rowe vs Asa Butterfield vs Tom Holland debates are over! (not like anyone really cared on these boards...)

Now all we need is for Marvel to tell us who's playing Captain Marvel....

After watching Inside Out, I am pretty excited to see what Meg Lefauve will bring to the table.

Agreed, Genndy was pretty awesome but I felt he exaggerated force powers a bit too much.

Both shows.
The movie isn't a bad pilot though. Just shouldn't have been in theaters.
Most of the later story arcs are more deserving.

Revenge of the Sith is good, but Empire is a classic.

I don't disagree... but that episode was awesome to watch, so I give it a pass.

The rest of them were fairly well grounded in the the lore's concept of the force limitations. There's an entire episode or two devoted to saving two Jedi who are trying to keep a rock from falling on them... quite different than force punching an entire robot army into submission.

Yeah, I didn't say it sucked or it was BS. The force was exaggerated, though. No doubt about that. If I recall the episode you describe was Master Luminara & her apprentice Bariss something.

I liked the idea that they could only survive by going into a deep meditative state, and that Yoda was the one who had to come dig 'em out

Bringing it back to Marvel.

Genndy was the storyboard artist for Iron Man 2.

Yup.

Unfortunately, I don't think the storyboards were ever released.

But hey, the Garden fight is very reminiscent of Samurai Jack and Miniseries Clone Wars.
