What did you all think of Agent Carter début?
Did that already happen? I'll have to see if it is on Hulu. Haven't heard much.

I've only had time to watch the first episode of Agent Carter but so far it's better then first episode of AoS. It kind of made me want to watch Captain America again. I didn't think I'd like a show based in the 1940s but it works great here.
Great........ New 52 part 2

Well....it's about time they got rid of those useless mutants....I mean if they're just going to fight one anther and not help other people then what is the point of them?

Honestly? I hope the rights for X-Men never pass from Fox to Marvel studios. Not that I don't think it would be cool, but because mutants in the way X-Men has portrayed them don't play well with other Marvel items. Until the House of M incident, there were MILLIONS of mutants in the world. Granted, most had weak or no powers, but it was too wide open. Hawkeye is a normal human with superhuman skills, as is Black Widow. But even a low class mutant can surpass them in ways, let alone the entire lineup of gods the extended X family has around.
Mutants and other super heroes shouldn't play together, in my book. Not in the same fictional realities.
I have to disagree, I think Mutants could fit in well with other heroes. It's just that the 'Feared and hated by humanity' thing has become their only characteristic. It dictates all their actions now. Peter David's X-Factor had a small group of Mutants working as Detectives in Mutant town and then eventually moving on to bigger and better things. Heck his All-New X-factor run has the team working as corporate heroes and actually ACTING like heroes. Stopping threats to the world, helping people in danger and avoiding the usual X-men tropes. However, most other writers WALLOW in the persecution aspects of mutants without examining other potential story telling avenues.

Yes, but in addition to the "everyone hates and fears us, but people love a laser-firing robot suit Iron Man" issues, there's the issue of scale. Because people are born mutants, there winds up being a flavor-of-the-week feel, where mutants with ever-increasing powers just pop into existence.
If someone more powerful than Captain America is born every month, what value does being a Super Soldier matter? If being able to fly and shoot energy is a staple for a quarter of the mutants in the X lineup, why would Iron Man be a big deal? If there are hundreds (or even thousands)!or mutant mental telepaths in the world, why is Loki's mind control staff worth a hill of beans?
Mutants implies a never ending supply of powers and heroes. It's a genetic lottery and you can introduce a new winner every week. That's just too much power saturation for the type of world the current Marvel cinematic universe is working in, in my mind.
To me that is just a problem with the world building. You start reducing the overall numbers of mutants born, and make even a smaller group of that have powers that are interesting and useful and I feel things would be rebalanced.
Also, to be fair, Cap is a bad example, the serum gave him the powers, but it's the man that he is that makes him a hero.
That said, I am much more interested in the Inhumans, since they have limited numbers, are spread out amongst the earth and the only way for them to get powers could also result in their horrible disfigurement if they are lucky. I mean one guy got an Elephants head.....there's no way in heck I am willing to be doused with that brand of hero maker juice.

Which is why I like how Scarlet Witch and Quiksilver are being introduced - not as mutants born, but as mad science experiments, likely to not be repeated. Once it becomes a thing where you are BORN with your power, then nothing stops you from having people start crawling out of the woodwork with powers they were born with as well.
I guess it depends on the size of your population. According to Star Wars Rebels there were around 10,000 Jedi Knights during the clone wars. Considering the population numbers for a galactic civilization I'm not even sure that would qualify as a drop in the bucket.

Strength =/= Skill. If someone more powerful than Captain America is born every month, what value does being a Super Soldier matter?
Caps powers are more secondery to his presence. its like in Judge Dredd simply his presence alone can end a fight.
he is a figure head and a symbol above all else.
Exactly. And a well placed Vibranium shield to the head.
Thing the new title refers too.

(Yes I know I use IGN. I'm a stubborn old man and refuse to change to a different site)
I thaught it was only partialy Vibranium? lol
Nah. im looking forward to the mixup i have to admit i stopped reading about 2 or 3 years ago.
The only comic I still regularly read is Injustice Gods Among Us.
Which is DC.
But I have kept up to date with Marvels going ons.
Apparently the Multiverse is collapsing in on itself right now.
Oh is that all pfft. see this is why they never should have got rid of Marvel UK.
the Doctor, Deathshead and the Warheads would have sorted this out in about an hour.
The only thing I want to find out after all this crazy **** that's going on is what was 616's version of Miles Morales.
Id like a Spider girl too.
Id like a Spider girl too.
616 alone have over a dozen of them. Yet no Spiderboy......
There was one. he was a fat kid whith spider like versions of Doc Ocs tenticals.
later Venom bit off his arm.

Really?! The only one I remember is the one from the DC/Marvel crossover when they combine Spiderman and Superboy and got the very "original",Spiderboy
No this kid became a new warrior. i think he went by black spider or something.
Ill look him up.
I try to forget the Amalgam Universe ever being a thing.
