The trouble with Ant-man is that he's just such a lame character.

I'm looking forward to Deadpool, Civil War, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel. I'll watch this movie just because I love comic books so much.

The fact that Ant-Man is getting a movie before Black Widow has done a better job of convincing me gender descrimination is real than most stuff on Tumblr.

She has only been in 4 movies so far.

...and Ant-man hasn't been in any. I fail to see how this is evidence of gender discrimination.

Ant Man has been getting good reviews from the critics so far. I'll see it because it's Marvel and LOLLIKEIMGOINGTOSKIPAMARVELMOVIE but I do have hopes that it will be funny, at the least.

They should have just dropped pretenses and had Jason Segal play a supporting character and Jude Apatow direct.

It was more a joke than anything else, really.
With that being said...the facto she hás been in four movies means she is recognizable, hás a fanbase and an already developed character. Ant-Man hás none of that outside the comic books.
The fact she is a woman probably hás something to with it. Maybe they think it won't as appealing for the kids.
Of course, her lack of superpowers plus background as a spy and assassin might not translate well to a superhero movie but if they could have a Captain America centered entirely around WW2, it's a flimsy excuse.

Honestly, all I know about Ant-Man is thst he beats his wife.
That probably won't be in the movie. Maybe if it was on Netflix.

Eric Seldwig has been in four Marvel movies. Doesn't have his own spin-off.

Clearly that means discrimination against Scandanavians.

I just saw a new Fantastic 4 ad that has them trying to bank on the fact that it's the same studio that did X-Men: Days of Future Past lol

Black widow is a better supporting character than a lead. That's just my opinion.

We got Jessica Jones coming this year and Captain Marvel in a few more. With the possibility that Netflix Phase 2 will have Ms. Marvel.

All of whom are far better characters than Natasha.

Yes. Hank Pym hit his wife Janet Van Dyne.

Once. And even in the comics now it's not something people like to make Hank forget he did.

Sure the Ultimate universe tried to kill her with bug spray, and the Zombie one ripped her head off. But those are 2 versions of the character who are different than the main 616 Hank for multiple reasons (like not being a Zombie, and everyone is a jackass in the Ultimate Universe besides both Spider-Mans)

However, Ant-Man is a legacy character, like Robin or The Flash. More than one character has been Ant-Man before. The one in the film is Scott Lang (Though Hank Pym is in the movie. But his exploits as Ant-Man happened in the 60s). The 2nd Ant-Man and Father of Young Avenger Cassie Lang otherwise known as Stature. Who is awesome.

im not feeling the movie. Its an ironman ripoff that can shrink, maybe it'll go over better with the kids but not me.

Ant-Man. First Appearance: Tales to Astonish #35 (1962)

Iron man. First Appearance: Tales of Suspense #39 (1963)

Do you ever get tired of being wrong all the time?

Your avatar reminded me to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. I bet you're so happy.

It's pretty rad. I get the Drax joke now.

No, Ant-man is still an ironman ripoff.

Yes. He is somehow a ripoff of a character Stan and Jack had barely come up with at the time.

The debut of which was 14 months apart.

I forgot to add something to my previous statement.

Do you ever get tired of being stupid and wrong all the time?

Don't answer that I already know the answer.

So like every other comic here in both DC and Marvel?

So anyway. Going from an alleged ripoff to an actual ripoff.

Deadpool trailer won't be properly released for a few weeks.

Least it's not too far off, and it's for a good reason.

Isn't Deadpool being made by Fox and not Marvel?

This isn't a Marvel Studios thread man.

It's everything relating to Marvel.

Since I have talked about Comics here before.

So the Fox movies can be discussed.
