Some people are taking it as first signs of comic book movie fatigue. I personally think Ant-man is just a difficult movie to market.  Trailers left people a lot of people indifferent.

Antman's the C-list of C-list properties, and it's pretty divorced from everything. Cap 1 had a $370.6 million box office. I think Ant-Man will outperform or meet that mark (in real terms). Don't see why people expect Avengers success from it. Or I guess GOG, since that was more of an out-of-left-field surprise.

Just watched the Ant-man today. I liked it a lot. It was pretty small scale (no pun intended), so that gave it an rather odd feeling considering such an imposing movie like Age of Ultron came just an couple of months ago.

Here is my spoilery review:

Spoiler

All in all, it was an solid good movie and worthy of making part of the MCU. I'm eager to see Ant-man in Civil war and what kind of role he will take. Now to the 10 month wait...

Spiderman spoiler.

I remember there was a version of Spiderman like that, or at least an action figure that I owned as a child before mother took them all away because she's mean like that.

Man-Spider was a Notorious Peg Warmer back when Spider-Man Classics was started by Toybiz.

So I'll assume Man-Spider.

Despite my name. We don't talk about that story arc.
The Clone Saga is like One More Day. It never happened.

I actually owned both of their figures.

I'm also amused by the naming of these things. Dr. Kirk Langstrom is named Man-Bat in the DC universe because he turns into well, a man bat (I recall there being a similar villain for Spiderman as well), while Peter Parker is called Man-Spider when he's an actual spider.

Just got out from the Ant-Man movie.

To put it short; I had a great time. I had zero knowledge about the character in question and I hadn't watched any trailers for the movie, so didn't know what to expect and I am glad that it managed to entertain me. It doesn't break any new grounds in the "heist movie genre" but it manages to take all the necessary aspects for it to work accordingly to what it wants to do, and since it doesn't take itself too seriously helps a lot. Sure, it pulls on old tropes--like a dramatic past scenario with the powers and how it affected closed ones, but luckily they don't overstay their welcome. The humor is great, and I had more than a few good laughs in the cinema and that counts a lot for me. Especially during action sequences and how the movie makes dramatic scenarios when Ant-Man is shrunken, only to be scene as trivial in real size. So not only were certain action scenes funny, but also entertaining with some great usage of how they handled Ant-Man's powers. Paul Rudd is quite a charming lead and Michael Douglas does a good job playing the role of a mentor. It is hardly anything new mind you, but it works for what the show wants to do just fine enough.

So yeah, I had a blast with it. I'm certain others here will enjoy it as well (if most of you haven't already seen it). Though as I said, I have no comic book knowledge or anything in between about the character, so I can't say whether or not Paul Rudd is the Ant-Man. But anyhow, I'm looking forward to more screen time with him in the upcoming movie(s), and as well will look forward to the next Marvel installment (it is Civil War, right?)

I didn't know it was a heist movie.

I'm easily amused by most of them.. they don't need to break new ground for me either.

I'll take my lickin's on that one, for sure. It makes sense, given that it was trying to be used to alter the nature of the universe back to one of darkness.

Now I'm curious what they'll do with Strange. I mean,Vision is powered by a Infinity Stone, why not the Sorcerer Supreme?

Of course the only gem left that would make sense is the Soul Gem. And Warlock would be PISSED if someone ganked his gem.
