{John is in court all day, but left standing orders for me to post in his absence. It will lack his usual flair, but he can scold me later.}

Fabian holds his round, waiting for Tessa to take position.

Laurelin grasped her staff tightly,she was thinking about casting the new spell she learnt at the warden's manor.

She hesitantly raised her staff and hoped that no complications would occur.As Laurelin felt the sudden burst of energy tingling within her,there she heard it...BOO!

To say that she was startled was a understatement,in fact she might have jumped a little bit.The most curious thing however was how on earth did Beldin manage to sneak up on her like that.

Her sudden screech turned into hearty laughter "Creators!You are a sneaky one Beldin!"She said teasingly as she wiped the tears from her face.

She should certainly need to try casting that spell eventually,but she was lacking the concentration required at that moment.

Beldin's smile was a gentle one.

"I do it because I care about you, Laurelin," he said. "You never know what's going to jump out at you, and I want you to be ready for it."

Mercuriel moved forward towards the ruckus caused by Laurelin's screams in an attempt to get at one of the party's mages as well as draw everyone else in the enemy group to him.

Philomena kept her position behind the tree, peeking out slightly to see her competitors' actions. She gave a quick glance to Tessa, indicating she was waiting for further direction.

{Kerridwynn has asked me to post on her behalf while she gets ready to get her move all sorted}

Rhys sees Tessa preparing to move and waits until she does.

{Rhys holds till Tessa's taken her turn}

Like her healer counterpart on the other team, Tempest was using a tree for cover, and thus was in relative safety. None of her squadmates were "injured," nor was their warrior yet in position, so Tempest felt for the time being it was best to remain where she was. In a real fight, she would have begun meditating, beginning to channel her energy to prepare to cast, but as it was she simply watched the mock battlefield with interest.

(Tempest holds her action.)

{Feel free to call my out if I get numbers wrong, I'll edit to reflect in the morning! *grin*}

With a nod and a narrowed eye, Tessa jogged toward Mercuriel making it abundantly clear that he was her eventual target.

{Posting on behalf of Kerridwynn, per her instructions and permission}

Rhys was already "aiming" as Tessa began moving toward Mercuriel.

With a serious countenance, he shouted clearly, "I take aim and fire at Tessa!"

Tessa's orders were to go for the mage, but she was under full concealment. I could try to shoot through the pine tree, but it would be a wasted shot. Better I should take out the one in the open: Mercuriel.

"I step forward one pace, take aim, and fire, striking Mercuriel in the left leg," I said.

((I've been holding my round. I can attack now.))

Bartha scanned 'the battlefield'. Mercuriel, Dog and Tessa were out in the open, and Rhys was protecting Tempest and having free range to anyone who would come out of hiding. Nonetheless, Mercuriel and Dog would be sitting ducks for those three ranged attackers. A smirk appeared on her face. 'Start counting, people. "where is the dwarf?" is such a nice game... Time to distract them a bit.'

Bartha starts moving, using the rest of her round.

Edit: FYI, I assumed that I could still move 11 yards whilst stealthed. If this is incorrect, please let me know.

{You can move 11 yards while stealthed. You just can't enter stealth, move 11 yards, and attack in the same round. Assuming that Fabian doesn't see you, you may move the remaining 10 yards next round and attack. Actually, you can attack either way, but if Fabian is surprised, he will not be able to shoot you, only punch or otherwise do something ineffective that doesn't constitute a full hit.}

Mercuriel changed his attention from Laurelin to Tessa when he noticed her approach. She was now in his range so he sheathed his greatsword and mimicked swinging it through the air to hit her in the stomach.

"I attack Tessa in her gut!"

(I flipped a coin for Fabian's attack and decided he would hit if it landed on tails. It did not and therefore it misses, am I correct?)

{Mena's Speed is 13, so she can move 13 yards in combination with an Arcane Lance attack. Her Arcane Lance has a range of 18 yards, so the only viable target would be Mercuriel. You'll have to check the range on other spells, though. If you cast a ranged spell, you can't move, so everybody is probably out of range. I know you're aware of all of this. I'm just pointing it out because it's a question that comes up a lot. :)}

(Oh I meant I flipped a coin for whether Fabian hit Merc or not, should I not? Am I rolling for my own attack? If so then, I hit Tessa.)

{Yeah, you have to roll your own attack, just like you roll your own dice. You don't roll dice for characters that are attacking you.}

(Okay I think I got confused because Bface is rolling for both Tessa and Rhys because Kerri is busy right now. Got it. So Merc has taken 1 hit out of his 3 and I hit Tessa after flipping a coin and getting heads.)

{Since speech is a free action, Tessa has some things to say. *grin*  Now, I know that Tess is shouting a lot of orders, but she is not expecting anyone to act out of their turn.}

Tessa made a face at Mercuriel and looked around the "battlefield". She had taken two of three "hits" and she could practically see Rhys smirking from here. Time for a change of plans, it would seem.

She grinned quickly at Mercuriel, then turned her head to bellow over her shoulder. "Fabian! Drop the bow and come stab this elf! Philomena! Follow Fabian to me, but be aware of your surroundings! Come quickly, but carefully, both of you!

Laurelin! rain some sort of scary magic down on him! Try not to hit me too!"

She looked over the "field" again and realized that she couldn't see Bartha. Flames. That meant someone was in for a surprise.

(Tempest's action from Round One. I'll do Round Two when it's her turn.)

Everyone was still on their feet, but Mercuriel now seemed to have become a concentrated target for Tessa's group. That was as it should be - a warrior could absorb far more damage, so it was his job to soak up hits. It was Tempest's job to keep him on his feet, and she couldn't do that hiding behind a tree. She would be at more risk out in the open, but if she didn't take any risks she was worthless in the battle anyway.

"I'm going to heal Mercuriel," Tempest told Rhys. "Can you watch my back?"

 She began moving in the direction of their warrior, keeping to her cover as long as she could.

Laurelin smiled at Beldin and nodded in agreement.

Her attention was now on the battlefield,blocking her thoughts and concentrating on the task at hand.She sighed when she noticed Mercuriel approaching,her grasp on her staff became firm as she heard Tessa's voice,warning her."Saw him...And my magic isn't that scary Tessa!"She chuckled as she released a beam of light from her staff smiling confidently.

{Tempest: assuming you're walking, I moved your token. If you want to try to use stealth, you have to roll. Anyone who wants to try to see you can challenge that roll with an opposition roll. If they're actively looking for a stealthed character, they may roll themselves, but if they're just passively observing, then I'll take it off their pre-rolled list.}

{Laurelin, you could have just flipped a coin, but that 15 definitely hits!}
