Things that arent broken dont need to be fixed.

A broken sword always needs to be repaired.

User score: .2/10 can't equip boots without crafting.
Critics: 10/10 we love EA.
Reality: 0-10/10 haven't played it yet, so no idea.

No, it's not.

So? Believe it or not, most people aren't looking for Origins 2.0 but a new, evolved DA experience.
Now, I will admit that I don't get why they didn't include dual-wielding for Warriors, but builds like single-weapon rogues were just impractical and not restricting weapon choices and meticulously optimizing attributes, makes balancing a party-based RPG extremely hard. One of the reasons Origins is such a breeze, even on Nightmare.

Yes it is. Character creation, includes class and skill selection, attribute asignment/generation and also appearance, some people spend hours on appearance, for prefernce I would be trying to meta the other aspects of it, to try to see how things work.

So? We are denied the swashbuckling rogue with the rapier as an archetype entirely, and yes weapon selection matters, it speaks to character as much as facial scars or the 9th crewcut option does, (rapiers are heavy swords btw, so it would be a str/dex build to make the idea function)

No I get the concept. That other stuff never had anything to do with the 8 slot limit.  In DA2/DAO I always planned my build regardless of having unlimited or so slots.. There was a sense of prioritizing builds. Thing is. It wasn't FORCED upon you. Who do you or bioware think you are to tell me that choosing 20 abilities is wrong? Dont I have the freedom of choice to pick what I want and go with it? Being successful at it or not is up to the player. The reason more than 8 or unlimited is to not have to waste time  with something so trivial and time consuming, just like this lack of healing outside of combat. I feel this will end up biting Bioware in the ass. This backwards thinking.

If you want to spec on 20 active abilities I'm sure you can. But the build will suck. And that's no ones fault but yours. If you want to ignore how the combat system works, that's your own problem. Not the team who designed it.

Oh and on topic: I think the game will score somewhere around 8.5 but I'm hoping for higher.

On Metacritic?

Average critic score would probably be mid to high 80s. It seems to take something truly special to get 9s across the board these days. But I'll be more than happy if DAI exceeds expectations.

Average user score is a little harder to predict, but i would say anywhere from low-70s to mid-80s. People don't actually review bomb all Triple A releases for the sake of review bombing. Expect PC score to be lower than console.

I imagine that if their cliche story formula, overall writing and characters are going to be well written the best score they should get would be 85/100 at best.

They seem to have improved on a lot of things in comparison to DA2 and to some extent Origins, but their ghastly design decisions and direction they decided to take  when it comes to core gameplay are huge steps backwards. Not to mention not respecting their own lore that was a part of gameplay in previous Dragon Age titles.

I'd predict average score to range from 75 to 80.

Going off what I have seen so far from streams and other videos I think it may break down like this

I think critics are going to go after the healing system and other crafting systems. I have also already seen a 6 things we like and one thing we hate video posted on youtube for Inquisition and they picked on the fact that there is no body slider in the game.

I think people are going to talk **** about the animations especially the water and horse riding animations.

In general I think fans will like the game and it will be a mix of dragon age 2 and origins but I would be surprised if on average the scores were lower than 8 or higher than 9

Being a fanboy however I REALLY REALLY want it to be a 10 but that probably wont happen. I still think it will be my favorite game of the year though so I don't really care
