Because you claim she's lying when she's just giving her opinion. That's why I defend her - because people are completely intent on making her look like the worst person ever when she's not. I don't care if you disagree. I do care when people think they're justified in harassing her constantly.

Here's the difference: You just gave your opinion which I disagree on and I do not feel the need to PM you saying you're a liar and a horrible person. I definitely don't think you're a liar and a horrible person. I accept that it's just your opinion. Yet you can't seem to accept that what she says is also just her opinion.

Like everyone on the internet, she has no power unless you pay attention to her. So if she truly says things you think are terrible, just pretend she doesn't exist. Gods know that's the advice I always get when I see horrible things online.

Not on topic for this thread, but when did cherry picking things, and mistrupting things become so common place to prove a point and get people behind you.

Everyone from politicians, news and youtubers do it now a days. I have a very black and white view of the world, is probbly why I don't fit it into to well, lying is lying bottom line you can't just do half of the facts.

Does she every try to paint a full picture of things or just cherry picks facts here and there, kinda curious about this topic now and wa nt to see if a certian problem with society runs deeper then I first thought, well a few problems.

Edit: Most likely should head to bed soon, was a topic that caught my eye and needed to do something to tire my mind out slightly.

 

I recommend taking a gander at her videos. She constantly says that the games she uses as examples are still good games, it's just that they feature problematic elements. She never vilifies a game. Her point is not to tell people these games are bad, her point is to show that games tend to overuse features that shouldn't have a place in our modern lives

 

I don't always agree with how she presents her stuff or her examples but I enjoy that at least someone out there is addressing the elephant in the room.

How is this at all related to what we just discussed? I couldn't care less if she claimed she is a pro surfer and then can't swim, she doesn't deserve all the hate people at throwing at her. End of.

Taking  things out of context and withholding informationen to strenghten her arguments is basically the same as lying if she is doing it on purpose. In most of her "analyses" she is doing nothing else. i think she did it in a very smart way (with the help of the raging kids who threaten her) and succeeded to manipulate a lot of people who actually believe in what she is saying and support her.

Just kinda of tired of video games getting crap from all the different right and left wing groups out there, but you make it sound like she doesn't just try to rip them to sherds like most.

See, I don't think she's doing it on purpose at all. I see someone who has a limited amount of time with a huge amount of resources to work with and thus grabs what she thinks is most relevant. Everyone with a blog/youtube/etc does this all the time.

The city elf origin is my favourite, especially when played as a female elf.

 

Tropes aren't bad. There's nothing inherently wrong with having rape as a plot point in a story, nor with men acting vulgar towards women. It's all about how the story handles those subjects, and BioWare handled them fine in DA:O.

 

That's my problem some of these Anita type campaigners. Rather than advocating better handling of subjects, they're advocating getting rid of those subjects all together, which is wrong.

Awesome. I agree that videogames tend to get bad rep way too much (everytime shooting is blamed on games... > ) but it never hurts to hear criticism, even if we dismiss it afterwards.

So what we should remove all problematic elements it would be ridicules. If you remove racism all DA setting will fall apart, 99% of video games main gamplay is murdering people.
