First off thanks for making DA:I and bring a lot of joy to people!!!! I bought the Deluxe Edition from the PS4 and not looking back!

Second way screw people over by making them wait!!

Next how can you make DLC exclusive to Xbox One first. I heard in your twitch stream all the things you want to add to DA:I. So I guess that means PC/MAC?/PS4 users have to wait for the update to come, For who knows how long. Not cool Not cool!!!! You do under stand that those three alone will make up more money and happy customers then Microsoft's Xbox money alone.

I mean your not making any friends by doing this. Plus I'm one of those people that think all games and DLC should come to all Platforms no matter what you play (Cough, Last of Us, PC/MAC/ Xbox users)!!! I mean look at Microsoft they aren't even making this deal for their PC users. What a .... you to them. What a shame what a shame. I mean I'm playing on the PS4 and think Windows users should at least get the same deal as Xbox users, Would make me feel a little better as a former Windows Gamer or PC Gamer as some would put it.

So please don't make this mistake in the future no matter what PS4/MAC/Microsoft tells you. It's about bringing the best gaming experience to the gamers not just one group of them.

You asked for feed back so I'm just giving it to you.

But really thank you for making a epic DA game I look for ward to spending tons of hours on it.

From past knowledge on the timed exclusive deals, the reason they happen is because the company that gets it first helped fund the game. So the timed exclusive is their end of the bargain for the increased budget. In that point of view, it is perfectly understandable and acceptable.

Actually, its was Sony that said no.  Not Bioware or EA offering just X1.

You're thinking of EA Access. Microsoft also gets a DLC that is a timed exclusive.

Sony was offered the content for PS4 as well and turned it down.

Yep, I know but also not hard to find, but that is alright. We got plenty of extra threads about other issues that crop up as well.  :)  No worries.  ;)

OK, can't find the previous thread about this. What exactly are xbox one users getting that other systems aren't?

Well they are getting a DLC mission no one else is getting. And they are getting all Updates/DLC first. Which means every one else has no idea how long it will be. I hear Play Station is getting all Destiny DLC a year early which is BS. So who knows how long it will be.

Incorrect. The exclusive DLC that Xbox is getting is a timed exclusive. All other platforms will also get it, just later. There is no fully exclusive DLC.

I'll take your word for it and thank the maker your right. Although how long is timed exclusive. This matters most to people that play online. Nothing like not having updates and armor upgrades for months on end for hard core players not on Xbox one!

I don't like exclusivity deals, but I'm not too fussed in this case. PS4 gamers like me get 1080p, XBox One gamers get DLC first and EA Access, PC gamers get to shell out more for better graphics and (possibly) mods, while PS3/X360 gamers get to save money. Seems fairly well balanced on the whole.

First off i under stand what your saying but DLC/Updates first for one system or another is uncalled for!

You can't blame PS4 user for 1080p on that system. Xbox one chose to make it hard to do on their system. You can't blame people for Windows allowing you to change the files so you can mod the game. I had no clue ps3/xbox360 plaid less.

But what would be fair to every one is that every one gets every Update/DLC at the same time.

PS: I owned a PS3 and know that the Xbox 360 had way more 1080p and better graphical games on it. But i chose to play on the PS3 knowing Xbox 360 had better graphics. So that's no excuse to me!

Well then I'd love to see you make a AAA game for free.

Yes, it  is all about money. People work in the gaming industry for love of gaming and....MONEY! Because, unless you are completely ignorant of life on planet earth, you will realize that in order to live, you will need money.

Now, your little rant is yours by right, but you are not in the industry. You do not know all the logistics and reasoning and collaborations between companies. You know far too little to offer an argument based on facts.

Unfortunately, this makes your rant a little more than hot air. An emotional response to not getting some arbitrary little pieces of content first.

Perhaps you do not realize that DAI is a huge game that CAN be enjoyed without exclusive content.

Also, you WILL get whatever content is available, eventually.

As mentioned by others, there are business reasons for exclusivity deals. Yes, Bioware is a BUSINESS. If they weren't, you would not have an awesome new Dragon Age game to play in a couple of weeks.

So try a little gratitude.

(Thank you for allowing me to also give you my feedback).

Hmm i see your point but....

If they offer DLC for Xbox one/PC/and PS4, Wouldn't they make more money from collecting $$ form three system.

And if what your saying is right i think BioWare has taken a major hit by this. PC/PS4 users in general will shell out money for RPG content then Xbox users. I would like to see the preorders for all the systems. Plus PS4 has been out selling XBox One for some time now. Which means more people are more likely to buy this game on PS4 then Xbox One. So if what your saying is true and I'm sure it is Microsoft paid $$ for every single person that would have bought DLC for PS3/PS4/PC. Which really sucks in my book.

When people on PS4/PC see the Witcher come out and get all DLC and up dates before DA:I. What do you think they are more likely to spend cash on first then get later if not at all.

Several people in the thread have said "updates" but I can find no evidence that XB1 users will get "updates" first. I imagine if they have to patch the game for some reason, they will do so on all systems. DLC and updates are not the same thing.

Hmm i see your point but....

And they will. There is NO EXCLUSIVE DLC. There is timed-exclusive DLC - likely a short duration, based on previous deals, but we don't know for sure - that comes first to XB1 because Microsoft paid for the privilege. This allows the game at a better chance of being profitable and provides the devs with more money upfront/larger budget perhaps (I'm not sure if it provides the main game with a larger budget or just the DLC or whatever). This is not a new idea. It happens all the time. Real exclusivity from 3rd party devs is fairly rare now - sometimes deals are made - but timed exclusivity is still reasonably common. It can be a bummer as a consumer, but it is perfectly understandable. Unless the games we love remain profitable, they will not continue to be made.

I have all systems, but I'm not buying this game for XB1 (I could, but there are a myriad of reasons I prefer the PS4 over my PC or XB1 for this game). I'm personally not that worried about DLC. We haven't even played the game yet!

Anyway, I don't get this notion that it's unacceptable for Sony or Microsoft to pay for exclusives or timed exclusives. This has been a part of the business for a long time now. Timed-exclusive DLC is about as minor an exclusive as it gets.

Ok so how long is timed exclusive. One week a month a year its not clear. Lots of games are coming out these coming months. Are people willing to wait for DLC that they can just watch on YouTube or a Wiki site when they can be playing another game.

I mean are most people going to just wait around with tons of other games to play for DLC. If another RPG like the witcher comes around and they are in joying that are they going to stop playing that, when they can watch/read a wiki on the new DA:I DLC from the Xbox users.

I want to see DA:I do well. But this whole timed exclusive isn't going to help them in the long run. Sure maybe sort term it pays the bills but it's going to hurt them in the long run when people do as above.

Sorry it's very early for me.

...Or it'll help them in the long run.  Folks might not be rushing to buy the game on the first day, or the first week.  There will be some that will wait for awhile.  Wait for the DLC to come out on all platforms, as well as for reviews and bug fix patches.   This isn't going to hurt their long term sales at all.  Personally, I play on PC and I don't give a crap.

I figure it like this: Let the Xbox users find the bugs that have inevitably crept into the DLC.  I'm not knocking on the DA tech team, but bugs will probably find a way to pop up.  The Xbox users will probably find them first, some of which could end up affecting cross platform.  By the time I get it, there should be less patches to worry about.

Besides, I know I'll get the DLC in time.  I'm not going to waste my time fretting because one set of console users got something I won't yet.   I'm going to be too busy actually playing the game to care if an Xbox user got a DLC before I did.  I really doubt it's a story-based DLC, so I don't give a flying leap.

Stock holders from EA might care. When DLC isn't selling as well as it should. And that is what really matters when you need major funding for an expansion or other works.

We have no idea. Likely a month, according to sources I've read, but they are speculation based on past deals.

Lots of games are coming out these coming months. Are people willing to wait for DLC that they can just watch on YouTune or a Wiki site when they can be playing another game.

I mean, lots of games coming out is basically why DLC timing doesn't bother me - I'll play the other stuff I want to play and be plenty busy until DLC comes out. Since DA:I is replayable, no matter when the DLC comes out (as long as it's not Day 1, which none of this is), I'm going to play it after I finish the main game and likely roll a new Inquisitor. I always play DA games more than once. Unless this one sucks (doubtful and then why would I want the DLC anyway?), I will replay this again later. Maybe when the DLC comes out, maybe before.

I mean are most people going to just wait around with tons of other games to play for DLC. If another RPG like the witcher comes around and they are in joying that are they going to stop playing that, when they can watch/read a wiki on the new DA:I DLC from the Xbox users.

If it is story based DLC (which we don't know) Maybe a few people will watch a LP instead of playing. Some people likely *will* get spoiled online if they read about DA (the amount of people who rabidly read about games is far less than the amount of people who buy them though). To me, that stuff doesn't really matter and won't deter me from buying. I don't imagine the opportunity costs outweigh the benefits from the deal, for Bioware, if that's what you mean.

I want to see DA:I do well. But this whole timed exclusive isn't going to help them in the long run. Sure maybe sort term it pays the bills but it's going to hurt them in the long run when people do as above.

There's no evidence that timed exclusive DLCs make less money in the long run. And plenty of evidence to the contrary, that they don't hurt sales but do provide additional income. I guess maybe vote with your wallet, if that's a big issue for you, but unless a lot of people do, timed exclusives will continue to be a thing.

I'm not a stock expert.  Are you?

I think you're panicking and stressing over nothing.  If you want to spend the rest of the autumn months nervous and worried over as something as a silly DLC coming out for the Xbox before any other platform (the horror!  and just in time for Halloween,) knock yourself out.   It'll be out for other platforms before too long, and I'm willing to bet stock holders know it as well.

Life's too short to stress about this, but if that's your way of passing the time, I'll leave you to it.  Me, I'm going to go get ready for Halloween.

I mean people aren't making a living off doing (Lets Plays) with no body watching. Or People just watching twich for the story. A lot of people didn't buy injustice gods among us, Because they could just watch the story on twich and people doing lets plays on YouTube for the story.

Lets face it some people will wait like you and me. But a lot of people rather save the money when they can just get the jest of the game/story for free.
