I'm not a stock expert.  Are you?

I think you're panicking and stressing over nothing.  If you want to spend the rest of the autumn months nervous and worried over as something as a silly DLC coming out for the Xbox before any other platform (the horror!  and just in time for Halloween,) knock yourself out.   It'll be out for other platforms before too long, and I'm willing to bet stock holders know it as well.

Life's too short to stress about this, but if that's your way of passing the time, I'll leave you to it.  Me, I'm going to go get ready for Halloween.

LoL i got time on my hands to day and i just want to make a point that this isn't good for any one that wants DA to do well. Do i think this is going to make the game crash and burn of cores not i just want them to make as much money as they can. So we can can have a couple cool expansions like DA: Awakening.

I do read the LA times. Remember when Ben and Jerry got fired by the stock holders, When they wanted to put A+ ingredients instead of the cheap crap. Face Palm i did.

I mean people aren't making a living off doing (Lets Plays) with no body watching. Or People just watching twich for the story. A lot of people didn't buy injustice gods among us, Because they could just watch the story on twich and people doing lets plays on YouTube for the story.

Lets face it some people will wait like you and me. But a lot of people rather save the money when they can just get the jest of the game/story for free.

Which is why RPGs, even their DLC, should be designed for lots of story replay value. If you can see everything of note, barring some minor conversation tweaks or variations, in a small Let's Play, then all you have is gameplay. And if novel gameplay isn't something the game delivers, then you are right - why would people buy it?

This is especially true of DLC's like Omega, which had very linear plots, very few branching points in the experience and negligible effects on the rest of the game. Unless such a DLC offers radically different or new gameplay elements, then one can watch the linear plot on YouTube.

But that's true of all DLC, regardless of timed exclusives. I've not bought a single DLC (Bioware or otherwise) and still know what they all entail for that very reason. They don't add anything except a fairly linear story which easily (and cheaply) follows a movie format.

My point isn't no one will watch the Let's Play; my point is I don't think it hurts dlc sales as much as you suggest. I don't think most of the people who watch a LP instead of buy are not buying it because of timed DLC. I also think many people who watch LPs have played the game. I often watch LPs of things I've already played.

I think a lot of people didn't buy Injustice because it looked dull and uninspired, not because of Let's Play. I mean theoretically, people could just watch DA: Inquisition on Let's Play. And some people probably will instead of playing the game. But I don't think a month or two or even six delay in DLC will factor into that, really.

If you think that's unfair. Destiny players on the xbox won't get DLC until Fall 2015. While PS4 get it very soon

By getting a timed exclusive Msoft attracts more people to it's platform and EA get a slightly bigger cut of the revenue from sales on the Xbox due to the deal.

Well they are getting a DLC mission no one else is getting. And they are getting all Updates/DLC first. Which means every one else has no idea how long it will be. I hear Play Station is getting all Destiny DLC a year early which is BS. So who knows how long it will be.

PS4 Users and lover!

I have not heard how long the Xbox Exclussive deal with BioWare is but with Destiny, Sony has the exclussive content deal until Fall 2015.

so Hopefully Xbox's deal isnt that long.

1. There are no reasons to believe that Xbox one gets exclusive DLC that no one else will see

2. (like Kallen said) Microsoft probably helped fund the game and are getting this in return. It is Sony's fault for not trying to do the same

3. If you decide to buy a game purely on how fast you can get their DLC, I suspect you will be dissappointed on how slowly anything more than a weapon/armor pack or Multiplayer Pack will be released

4. Updates are not DLC. There is no reason to believe an update will come out later on other systems.

5. (off topic) Destiny is made by Bungie who hates Microsoft for kicking them off of the Halo franchise as well as taking some of their better employees to create 343 Studios. It is completely understandable why the would try to screw over  Xbox users (does not make it a good thing to do).

(EDIT) 6. It is also only premium DLC that is being delayed. That probably means the Mini Expansion types of DLC

First DLC is going to be free DAMP stuff, according to Mike Laidlaw:

So, again, we aren't missing much.

Ok lets take Watch Dogs updates PS4/PC got up dates before the Xbox one. This is a major suck for Xbox users. The up date had many graphical improvements that were shown at E3, Through out the years that never mad it to release. This is a shocker why didn't Xbox get the release at the same time as the Windows:PC/PS4. Will this Carrie over to Xbox one getting updates before the PS4/Windows:PC. I think so, I mean they talk about major/minor updates in their twich streams that might make it to Xbox one first and Windows:PC/PS4 users till later.

PC= Personal computer which is MAC/Windows/What ever operating system you use on your Personal Computer. Why i say Windows Microsoft gamer over just PC!

Your thread is lame!!!! we are all gamers no matter what system we play on. This is just crap that is not going to help any one. Have you noticed how Bioware is not talking about how Xbox Users are getting DLC first. I mean really think about how Destiny is talking a boat load about the PS4 first. And DA:I hasn't said a word about XBOX ONE first DLC, Makes me think Xbox one isn't selling well. When was the last time you heard about Xbox one being the system to have DA:I on.

Just think about that, And how they wont mention a thing about DLC first for XBOX ONE.

Xbox One DLC first: BioWare please make a video about how all other gamers come second to the Xbox One in terms of DLC. Or talk about Xbox one being choice one for DLC and Updates.

I haven't heard you talk about this in awhile which makes me think your money offer to them is no longer valid. So does this mean every one gets the DLC on the same day as every one else.

Please Update us on this so we can get the facts right on this. Us gamers want to know whats going on so please tell me to ....., So we have a better under standing of whats going on with your game!!!

Witches blood and witches stew will enlighten you ever more!!!

I prefer to think of it this way..xbox owners get to be the test subjects for the dlc with any and all glitches or bugs which may or may not appear.

Having something first doesn't always mean it's better- I'd rather get my dlc post patch than pre-patch (or at least with the patch in the works).  But  YMMV.

First you do make a good point and i like the way you think. Well said good sir!

Second if you saw what i said about watch dogs you would see that deals could be more then just dlc for single play/online.I mean what if they make a update which gives you more hair/more player choice for how your character looks, The option to change that option in game. They aren't giving many details about who gets what and when.

You also blow online off like it doesn't matter and to some people it matters a lot.

Like i said i want DA:I to do well and we got COD:AW/Far Cry 4/ GTA 5 coming out this month which are heavy hitters. Remember though's are heavy hitters and I want people to buy DA:I not though's if they have to make a choice in the matter. I want sells to be high for DA:I so we get more updates and such online or single player. But acing out some consoles could be a little bad for sells.

PS: Look above about what happens to people that don't make their stock holders the most amount of money as possible.

You make VERY GOOD points and how i scanned or your post i have no idea. Thank you for your very very good post.

This adds a lot to my whole they need to make as much money upfront as they can. Stock holders only care about the money you make them. So if you don't make very much money on your investment up front, Why would they vote to give you more money to make DLC that you can just watch on youtube or twich and get for free. Especially. If you have a month plus to just sit around and wait for it to come out on your console of choice. You are going to just watch it on Lets Plays or Twich.

Also lets say they make killer DLC with tons of options. If you have a month to just watch it on Lets Plays or Twich you are more then likely going to see all the endings. Now if DA:I is as killer as i think it's going to be then this is going to be a big suck for them and us for single/online players. Even if you have the most killer DLC in the world, And people have to wait a month or who knows how long they are just going to watch all the ending on YouTube or Twich and pass on the DLC. Which isn't good for people like me that want more. If people can't make the buy at the time of release for the DLC/Expansion then more then likely they will pass on it and not buy it.

Major suckage!!!

Hmmm lets see i have over 700+ views and not a word from bioware on this. Yes I'm calling you out what are you going to do about it.

Far Cray 4/GTA5 come out on the same day as your game must hurt. But you would think with your Microsoft money you would be playing how much Xbox one is greater over every thing else. If i was Microsoft i would be pretty pissed at you for not playing up the deal you have with them. I mean you got money from them that just hurts your fans that aren't  XBox one users.

So you won't say a word about your sweat deal with Microsoft. I would really love to know why. I mean come on you talk more about PS4/windows:PC on your twich streams. Why is that. Or is it that you thought you got a good deal that turn out to be sour. Shame on you then for trying to put one gamer above another with content.

Money talks and BS walks, And you wont talk about Xbox one first on your twich or youtube streams. So i guess your deal sucks and don't want people to know about it.

Yes PlayStation4 is selling more units than the Xbox One;

Mainly because of the superior hardware Ps4 has and the fact it runs in 1080p over Xb1's 920p

Its more of a choice of which you prefer more, not "LoLzScrubz Ps4 betterz kthxbai"

With me I have an Xbox1, I have my Profile all set up, been with Live for 7 years; I like the Xb1 controller more; For me its just easier to stay with Xbox.

Now as far as Bioware's responce to what kind of deal they have with Microsoft and the Terms of this, "Getting DLC first" Business, needs to be cleared up for us, and the Terms layed out for us.

Is it a long exclussive deal like with Bungie's Ps4 Deal with Destiny?  Fall 2015? or is it something softer like Xbox1 gets DA:I DLC 2 weeks early.  This I would like an Offical answer on.

I have a PS4 but i do respect my fellow gamers know matter what they play on, And that PS4 Bungie deal is why i didn't buy Destiny!! For reallieos it's crap that puts one system above an other  or makes people fight. I love DA:I which is why I bought it over every thing else coming out. But this whole money grab is BS. It only hurts gamers and no one else. Which is major suckage in my book.

Money Makes the World go Round, unless a Dev has more money than the USA's Debt total, Money will always be a factor, thus Exclussive Content.

Destiny is a Great game, but unless you have friends to play with it gets Grindy.... Very Fast.

Anyways back on Topic.

DA:I Looks HUGE, Ive been watching all the streams, Vids, Etc, and I for one dont think the "First" DLC will even phase you.  So many things to do, to explore, unlock, subsequent playthroughts, different path Choices, trying out the game with different world states in the "Keep".  the in game Inquisitor's Keep; building it up all the Mini distractions, the War Table thing.

DA:I is going to keep me busy for Months, and I for one would not worry at all about the DLC First non-sense.

I'm betting BioWare has nothing to do with this Xbox exclusive.  If you're really curious about this, I'd start talking to EA.  $100 says that they are the ones calling the shots here, not BioWare.

Don't give BW too much credit in this case.  You need to remember who owns them.
