Dragon Age Nexus has a popular mod specifically to Skip the Fade.
I can't post links yet, I guess, so google Dragon Age Nexus and from there search for "skip fade" or just search the top 25 or so mods.

Why don't people like Fade? Free stat boosts, different experience based on companions present, shapeshifting
I find it a very interesting and awesome mission!
It's the playing through it that gets old. The 'Skip the Fade' mod gives you all the benefits with none of the repetition. You also still get to see the different companion experiences. Morrigan never fails to amuse in that regard.

I love the Fade. I’d much rather skip the 10,000 darkspawn battles and the #$%&ing corrupted spider queen in the Deep Roads!
That and the werewolf quest, at least in the ruin. Why are werewolves guarded by hordes of undead, anyway? ![]()

I used to use that. I downloaded it recently and it doesn't work. I miss it. As a matter of fact, most of my old mods from there don't work anymore. I hate going through that again.

I thought the Fade was pretty neat the first time I played it. But I agree that it does feel like a grind on subsequent runs. I think it is probably the lack of any real dialogue or party interaction. And remembering if you picked up every essence and font seems a little like a chore.
That said, there are some other quests that seem a bit like a grind. Sometimes it can feel like the deep roads are never going to end.

Not sure about "Skip the Fade" Mod, but if it comes DAZip friendly uninstalling should be as simple as using DAModder ... also most mods can simply be "disabled" in the Game's Installed Content.

My friend talked about this a long time ago and made a great point. It is pretty much the Legend of Zelda section of the game with an ugly visual presentation. Make that section colorful and have an annoying faerie saying "LISTEN!" every 10 minutes and you are playing OoT.
Honestly, I completed the game many years ago on Nightmare on the 360 and I love the game, but I haven't played it since. I try once in a while, but threads like this are an example of why I stop myself. I've already done the story as a good character helping everyone. The only thing really left to do is a jerk play through and go achievement hunting. I though going through the fade was frustrating... until I had to do the deep roads. I saved the Dwarves for last by pure chance. I had completed every quest I could before visiting the Dwarves. I saw my play time up to that point was something like 42 hours. By the time had finished doing al; the side quests and the deep roads and all that, I had 86 hours played. It really got to the point I never wanted to do another full play through again. I hate that part of the game. It's such a long grind that isn't satisfying.
There is just so much that you are forced to do that you can't avoid. What's really frustrating is that when I got to the end fight, I didn't even need to use the reinforcements. I ended up replaying the ending off a save file and burning up all my reinforcements just because I could for the heck of it. Looking back I wish I could skip that part of the game all together. Let them solve their own problems.

I enjoy doing it if I'm not a mage because I get all the codex I miss by playing as a Cousland. As a mage I get those codex at the beginning, so it's pointless, but I do it anyways to gather points, and I feel sorry for Niall and like the small bond he forms with my Warden while they are trapped there.

I like the fade too and shape shifting was a blast. Escpecially playing as a rogue or warrior - a bit a magic.I am the only one here that found the fade quest funny and had great time using all the shapeshifting forms?? lol

I have always liked the Fade. Not only is it an atmospheric treat that gives us a first hand glimpse at one of the most interesting aspects of the DA lore (and for non-mages, a first glimpse period), it gives us a chance to see our Warden in action without relying on companions. I don't know exactly how many times I've played through it, but for me it never got old... then again, I also like the Deep Roads, so maybe I'm just weird. ![]()

Yes, and I could try out different skills or work on skills without my party that was fun.
Not weird - like the deep roads too.

I agree I think I find it one o0f my favourites o0f the game sneaked up behind an Ogre in mouse form then switched to Golem form and pummeled it into subhmission. Felt really satisfying

I was a bit surprised when my ranger rogue couldn't summon pets in the Fade, especially when shapeshifters can transform there. It makes sense though-pets come from the natural world, and shapeshifts come from within.

You can uninstall or disable skip-the-fade any time before that point (meeting the Sloth Demon and getting sleepy) if you wish to play it.
Now, the mod Zevran asap will still work even if you disable it after starting a new game. It must be uninstalled or disabled before starting a new game.

Lol whats wrong with the fade?. . its pretty impressive in itself and a "necessary" grind in itself. Fade Shapeshifting in itself is a fine concept to the game and c'mon its the part of the game where you actually use your "heads" if you have any.
