That's what I assumed/secretly hoped for... But Mike Laidlaw made it seem as though no one working on DA:I had even begun to start thinking about single player DLC, let alone working on it already :/

Maybe they just don't want to reveal that they've started on it for some reason?

They probably did think of ideas for SP DLC, but they probably didn't start working on it yet

There's microtransactions in the multiplayer?

Yes. EA isn't giving you free DLC from the kindness of their hearts. Microtransactions are there for a reason.

Since the practice seemed to work for ME3, it makes total sense for DA to follow suit.

Yeah god forbid BioWare be KIND and not nickel and dime the consumer with microtransactions to begin with.

I think the whole team DESERVES a break! This game is going to take up quite some time from the looks of it.

I'm quite happy to wait until 2015 for any future DLC story content. I am just glad to hear that they are thinking of making some. The free DLC for multiplayer will make many happy I am sure, and I applaud them for doing it - I just don't play it, unless I have to for an achievement. (But I still download it so that I have it - just in case, lol.)

Considering you can get by quite easily without spending a penny on those loot bags(or whatever it was in Mass Effect 3), nickle and diming costumers, is the wrong phrase to use.  Because now, you don't have to spend anything on microtransactions and you get DLC content for free.

I hate to bring it up for the sheer whining it's going to cause, but CDPR? Does free DLC.

I suppose that's fair. BW's not CDPR though.

Evidently map and character packs will be free like ME3MP. What is monetized is speeding up the grind, which is the same business model that mobile games use, and which ME3MP used. I fail to see any controversy around that that's anything more than "how dare they make money!"

Meh I don't care about microtransactions in MP. I don't play it.

The day that comes to SP is the day I bounce.

They're a business, not a charity.

You aren't forced to spend any money in MP. If you don't, it's just free DLC to you.

Don't try and rationalize with this poster on this topic.  For the sake of your own mental health.

I am good with Bioware taking their time with the SP DLCs and in regards to the MP DLC's I couldn't really care not that I wont play the MP but its not my priority the SP is.

I do hope that we get a Black Emporium DLC/Patch I agree that its a feature that all RPGs with a CC should have or maybe patch in a Face Code system like ME3.

Unless I can play the campaign cooperatively, I don't care one bit about multiplayer :)

I thought they did that well with ME3, so I have no problem with them doing it this way, and absolutely---let them take a break.

Q1 2015 is a pretty early estimate for Story DLC. Most of the team would probably take a few weeks off, then you have the holidays. They'd start getting back into new content mid January and probably see a story DLC maybe middle of the year.

I agree! I actually would love a full blown expansion, like Awakening, so if I have to wait a year for that, I'll gladly do it.

I agree. I'd pick an old fashioned full-blown expansion before a DLC any day!

What I fear for people is the fact that after two or three months, there will be nobody in mp exactly like in me3.

What platform were you on? As of yesterday I am still able to easily find games on PC.

most likely they will just have two teams and it will probably just be the existing teams they have now for the two modes, so probably while they are making the new characters and map packs another team will just be working on the Story DLC.

We probably aren't going to see another awakening size dlc from Dragon age though. i believe it was Cameron Lee who said it was too time consuming.

It keeps people who play MP interested. Whether or not it keeps people who play SP interested is a different question, but presumably the economics favour MP.

In a way. The whole point of MP is to diminish the number of people reselling their copy of the game once they have finished the SP part. Since making SP DLC takes time, I wouldn't be surprised if they scattered faster to do MP DLC along the way to keep people interested in keeping their game.
