Entitlement. It's the height of arrogance to assume that a design decision was intended to *punish* you, instead of it being...wow, not about you at all.

I think the claim of BW being against men for doing these characters is offensive. It's like: It's offensive for men to not have beatiful (objectively Idk what that is in practice) romance intrest in the games. All these women look so different, Cassandra is warrior woman with romantic side, Josephine is dark noble woman with style and Sera is easygoing and fun. They are different and they are women and they are subjectively beatiful. There shouldn't be just one model of woman who is beatiful and thus worth to romancing.

Cuz they feel entitled. They feel like cuz they are buying the game, they should be able to bung some blonde bimbo bombshell in the game. And theyre upset tht the devs gave all the straight male romance options short hair and strong jawlines. This is what I am gathering anyway. Regardless I am a male, and while I am disappointed with the look of the LI's, I will do as I always do in vgs where a romance is possible. I will get to know each and if one has a personality that id like to date irl, then ill romance her.

@Gothfather , Because your post is so big , i'm just going to reply this way..

I agree with what you said pretty much , And my opinion , that video was a waste of time and a giant QQ fest.

As another straight male , i don't feel under attack by Bioware either.  Cassandra/Josephine are both attractive and look to be interesting characters and i'm happy with our options.

And as for women getting a couple more LI's then everyone else my response to that is , *Oh well , let the ladies have a few more this time*

This again? Seriously? I swear, with this crap and the whole "gamergate" nonsense, I feel embarrassed to be a gamer.

The straight male demographic needs to get their act together. And I say this as a straight male gamer. It's pathetic. Gaming isn't a "boy's club" anymore where we can all revel in male power fantasies. The gaming medium has progressed. Grow up.

I agree with the statement above by lVl4RCU5, I'm not going to watch the video itself since you've summed a bit of it up. This doesn't deserve circulation. Some people just need to grow up. It isn't 1997 anymore.

I find it intresting that suddenly gamer men feel like they are under attack.

We are not under attack yet there are people convinced we are. Why? What is it about diversity that makes some men feel under attack? That to me is a worthy topic.

And I feel its important to provide sources. If i critique something people should be able to see the material and judge for themselves if what i am saying is accurate.

Stopped listening around 13 minutes in when he said characters in a fantasy game should not be depicted realistically and essentially should not look like warriors even if they are.

Being entitled to "beautiful NPC's" is not a worthy topic. A lack of logical brain function and proper education Is where I see this opinion stems from and it deserves to be forgotten.

Because heterosexual white male gamers are used to having the games industry pander exclusively to their demographic.  That's changing, and that has some of them terrified, and the response of those individuals is to spew vitriol like this in every direction.

Objectively speaking Cassandra, Josephine and Sera are ugly.

Yep.

If look at the women in DA:I who are romance options all are skinny, with near perct bodies, hardly falling to the pressure of being politically correct with regards to concerns of media pushing unrealistic body types on women. So that doesn't hold up.

To be fair, every woman, and man for that matter, in DAI has a 'perfect' body. On account of seemingly only having one body type per race [IB being the exception], so that's hardly a valid anything. You'll probably find 80 year olds with swimsuit ready 20 somethings' bodies.

Thats just crazy. Diversity does nothing to limit gaming experiences it does the opposite. It gives us more choice and it expands the experience we can have with games.

He represents all those who feel the same way he does. Which judging by general reactions I have seen to female LI's is a lot of people. Prob not millions though haha

Yeah I don't think most men are like that video guy. Even if they are offput by the inclusiveness of the games, they aren't going to dedicate hours of their free time to ranting online. When change happens, there's always a loud outcry from a group online that seems larger than it is. Hard to keep that in perspective when they are everywhere like they are lately though.

Oh god I listened the video for while and I just can't. Like why the talker is speaking like there is something wrong with short haircuts on women? Seriously do we live in middle ages where all women had long hair and long dresses? It's nice to know I'm automatically unattractive (objectively :P) cause I love my short hair. God sakes people like this. And he even had problem with Josephines birth mark?? Like real women do have birth marks wtf it's not just some men thing.

If it is objective then you can provide proof of the assertion that the three female romance options in DA:I are objectively ugly. Love to see the proof on this.

One angry ranter on the internet does not represent millions of people.

You'd have a point if it were one angry ranter.

It's not "millions" of people, but a lot of people do feel this way. It's certainly not a majority and probably not even a significant percentage, but it is enough people who continue to press the issue and attract enough attention to it that it is a topic of discussion weekly.

I'll just contend again that some people need to grow up. :\
