I don't feel under attack but I don't find the female Li's attractive. As for going on personality I find Cassie very grating she is definitely not my cup of tea she will spend as much of the game back at camp as possible. Josie reminds me of a slightly younger Professor  Mcgonagall with the tight bun and the wart on her forehead, shudders. Sara has worzel gummidge hair but at least I like her personality so that is something that I can work with. Looks like I'll be playing a female on my first playthrough.

 

I also agree that Cassie looked a lot better in DA:2 than she does in DA:I and Morrigan looked better in DA:O than she does now. I think that most of it is down to the lighting and the hideous hair that is in this game, even the best looking character in the game, in my opinion, Scout Harding has horrible hair. 

 

There seems to be a great party of people to hang around with though. Iron Bull, Varric and Sara all look like they can handle themselves in a fight but be fun out of it, pity Varric and Sara play the same part in the party though. I might have to respec Sara so I can play them all together.

I just want to be clear here. I only touched on the OPs video in the sense of an opinion piece very briefly.. I'm touching on the prevailing attitude of 'white males are too privileged and therefore should not be allowed to have an opinion' which I'm seeing a lot of in this thread, with everything else.

I can't stop laughing that in a thread where over half my posts have been reassuring dudes that they are entitled to their opinion that certain women are ugly and that it's okay for them to feel upset that they don't have enough video game ladies to bang, that you're implying I'm part of the SJW Misandry Brigade. Bioware have been pretty clear that they create characters first and think about romance options after. Do they try and make sure that various groups all get a couple of options? Sure. Do they say 'we will make sure every sexuality has an equal number of options'? No, nor should they.

 

If you just don't happen to like either of the straight male LI options is absolutely reasonable to say so, and to suggest what sort of LI you would like to see in the future. Saying that only having Cass and Scribbles is part of some anti straight male agenda is just nuts. This is the first Bioware game that has ever given straight women more options than anyone else (though as others have pointed out it's actually only elf women who get all 4). 

 

As a finally thought just thought I'd add that actually everyone playing the game has access to all 8 romance stories. I'm a gay man but i fully intend to play through at least once with Sera a LI. But even if you only enjoy playing a character the same as you - everyone, whatever their gender or sexuality, has at least 2 options which are pretty varied. No one is being hard done by here.

They are allowed to work. Check.

 

They are provided the same protection provided all citizens in the United States. Check.

 

It is illegal to discriminate against them for work. Check.

 

All rights that are provided to every other citizen in the USA is provided to them.  Check.

 

The only thing I can think of that might possibly not fit that definition is not being allowed to go into a restroom of their choice dependent upon location. Which falls back under moving to a state that more adequately provides for a chosen lifestyle.

 

Anything else is personal discrimination/biases.

I actually would prefer equal number of romances not only for different genders but also for different sexualities. Alas, that didn't happen.

 

Still, I find argument straight female players or straight male players or gay male players etc. only have certain amount romances cause I'm here like: I'm straight female players but I have 4 romances: Cass, Cullen, Dorian and Iron Bull! XD Some might even have all 8!

Geez Louise guy. Ive stated numerous times that I think the guy in the vids an ass and I dont agree with his views. I find Cassandra unattractive personally. And I find Josephine to be pretty.

Laws still have inequalities like not being able to marry (non-hetero couples) etc. But the biggest problem is in practice: society still enforces gender roles and other roles which discriminate people. Women's euro is still not full euro, men are selected in higher job positions just cause their gender etc. There is still long way to equality and I believe it can be never be achieved since humans aren't perfect.
