I noticed that you could:
Be a male warden & Make alistair have the god baby with morrigan.. that was not an option in game unless you were a female warden.
Save both the keep and amaranthine.. that was not an option in the game or is this the option where the keep was at full readiness, you chose to save amaranthine and all but the 3 companions you took with you to amaranthine died?
I noticed you could not have alistair have the god baby & kill the arch demon.. why.. the god baby was conceived a warden killed the arch demon..
Plot choices that were not in game.

If a male Warden turns Morrigan down for the ritual, they do get an option to convince the other male warden to go through with it instead.
The option to save both the Keep and Amaranthine is for if you fully upgraded Vigil's Keep and chose to defend Amaranthine. Choosing just to save Amaranthine suggests, I believe, that the Keep was not upgraded and fell in the battle.
If Morrigan's ritual is completed, it will always be the PC Warden who kills the Archdemon. It's only if the ritual is not completed that there's a choice of who can kill the Archdemon, except in cases where Alistair is romanced and accompanies a female Warden, in which case he will always land the killing blow.

hmm.. IIRC, even with the keep at full readiness, if you go save amaranthine, the only companions that survive are those who you took with you.. which is why, after searching through various forum threads, everyone states it is impossible to save both. Which is where I am confused.
I never got any alistair god baby option even when I turned her down.. maybe I just picked the wrong options.

There's been some argument among fans as to whether or not the Keep actually is saved, or if it isn't. The official word appears to be that it is saved - or at very least whatever damage is done to it is very quickly repaired after the battle.
As for Alistair - I was under the impression the only way telling Morrigan you weren't going to sleep with her prevents you from talking someone else into doing the ritual was if you were in a romance with her... which makes sense.

Amaranthine & Keep protected
To save both the Keep and Amaranthine you need to fully upgrade Vigil's Keep (silverite armor for your soldiers, granite for your walls etc.) and then choose to protect Amaranthine. The epilogue slide will then tell you that the Keep resisted the darkspawn assault for several weeks, and eventually the horde broke upon its walls.

At least in my case, they didn't all die if the Keep was fully upgraded. Half could survive it. So I'd take the half that would die with me and leave the survivors to.. survive.
Velanna goes off later and becomes a hero in her own right in her slide, for instance. I still want to see that happen in a future game. ![]()

hmm. I need to play through awakenings again I think.. I always have the keep at full readiness but It has been a while since I actually bothered to save amaranthine.. I generally just let them burn.

I only played through DAA 4 times though, because of the character limit on 360. Had to delete two of them. Right after it released.

If i remember correctly anyone can survive, but you have to make their side quests and earn full respect with everyone, the only one that "dies" is nathaniel unless you take him with you... but that´s a bug XD

That may be it, I tended to always ignore their approval and just do my own thing.

Ahhh cool. Yeah, I never got the full group to max approval. That's probably it.
