Ok first of all I'm not really a solo person and the only time I attempt to do it is when I'm testing out new weapons or builds etc in which case it's a no gel,no equipment gold solo where I bleed out when I'm down to not waste gels.

Anyway I recently had this motivation to acttually try and pull off a gold solo mid way through one of my  test runs as a huntress.

My 1st attempt was a no equip(except commando package) lvl 20 huntress 66653 build with a Valiant lvl 1on reapers gold giant,I bled out on wave 1 when I realised that quickscoping all those husks was pretty darn tiresome.

​Next attempt was with a harrier 1,no equipment on the same map.It was tough but i made it till wave 9 where I bled out with no gels left after a stupid mistake on wave 8 made me waste 3 gels in a go.

  Attempt 3 was the real deal with me equipping all level 3 equips like incendiary ammo,power damage and assault rifle amp but unfortunately was the worst run of the lot with me dying twice on wave 1 and finally wiping on wave 6.

If you're still with me I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me some tips on your preferred weapons,equipments etc for the huntress and on general tactics on this class.I am also confused on  the whole warp ammo or the incendiary ammo combo deal

Warp or Incendiary ammo. 66653 is good, but keep in mind that the Huntress cloak does not benefit weapon damage at all; just powers and melee.

The biggest part of soloing is getting a feel for where the enemies spawn, and how to influence/control it. Once you have that figured out, the rest comes easily. Since you're just getting into soloing, try to save missiles for worst-case scenarios (enemies all over a hack circle, cornered by Banshees, etc). Remember that you have the entire clock on objective waves, so don't feel like you have to get on it immediately.

Also in reply to above yeah 66653 is good but it's  also unbelievably squishy,I've had some instances of cannibals insta killing me from full shields. I'm also kinda shaky with the spawn prediction so I guess I'll have to work on that!

Weapons I like on the Huntress:
Lancer
Harrier
Claymore

Basically ones that allow me to stay at mid-range. Cloak, DC/Warp, shoot.

Easy solo maps are White, Giant, maybe Glacier (probably not for Huntress though).

Also abuse Geth Scanner if you have it. By far the best Gear for solos.

66653 is what I use too. About gear, since it's your first gold solo, you may replace the power amp you equiped by a cyclonic 4. It will give you 750 additional shields, like that you will be no longer "instakilled" by cannibals.  

 

Giant / Reapers is a good choice for the Huntress. Given your manifest, Arc pistol 7 is one of your best option, providing that you're conmfortable enough with the charge mechanism. Harrier 1 lacks ammo, but it's still one of your best option. You can eventually take the Acolyte as a secondary to strip Banshees' barriers. I advice also to equip Geth scanner, that's the best possible gear for the Huntress.

Talon or Hurricane with Incendiary IV.  Use the Power Amplifier on your gun, and use Power Amp 4 gear.  For bosses, cloak and warp first, then cloak and Dark Channel, shooting in between.  You will DoT them to death super quick.  For smaller enemies, hit with Dark Channel first and then warp for Biotic Explosions.  As you know, after one guy dies the DC goes to the nearest enemy and you can chain BE's.   

This character has great DoT damage as I already stated, so if you need to retreat, cloak and cast a Dark Channel and run away.  You should be able to kill a full health Banshee on Gold without even shooting this way.  Just try to keep in mind, that causing a BE is not always the best option, as it will stop the DoT bonuses on stronger enemies.  After a few games, you'll feel like a pro.

This reminds me, I wanted to solo a Thunderdome with her but haven't gotten past wave 5.  It's time to try again.

You know I've never really used the Geth scanner all that much because I never thought the whole xray vision was worth it.I stuck to commando package here for the extra damage but is the Geth scanner really so good?

Also I did try the ark pistol but it seemed like a bit of a chore and I felt like I was having much better dps with the harrier but i have considered using the reegar carbine or maybe the claymore next time

Whenever I solo I almost always use Geth Scanner unless I'm using a grenade dependent character in which case it's Grenade Capacity V. Every now and then I'll use a level V weapon amp, but rarely. That extra vision when you're by yourself is a life saver. The way I have her built is no passives, incendiary ammo, and reegar for max cheese (I named her "Say Cheese" for a reason). If I were to solo though I'd rock the 6/6/6/5/3 build everyone else is saying with cyclonic IV, incendiary ammo, Arc Pistol with Power Magnifier and Heavy barrel and preset it to Reapers. If you're still not comfortable, preset a larger map like Reactor or White that you freely move around in and easily get behind soft cover with long sightlines. 

 

By the way, once you complete your first gold solo kiss your life goodbye, it's all you'll want to do.

Huntress versus Reapers is pretty easy. Learn which waves have the ranged units and play them particularily conservative. You can always dark channel something then leave the area and allow it to eat through enemies.

 

As far as the warp incendiary effect, it's warp first then shoot on the second shot the incendiary but will really start to work. You get better application per shot with lower ROF weapons but higher ROF weapons or pellet based weapons still end up applying more instances and win out in the end for the bug; Reegar is probably the most ridiculous, PPR is also good. You can generally stop shooting when almost anything reaches half an armor bar with incendiary rounds and be sure that the effect will melt them if the weapon used is high ROF.

 

Wave by wave I would try to focus on the higher point value targets to deplete the budget, Ravagers, Brutes, etc moreso than husks unless you want a very long game. Solos generally focus on eliminating smaller targets but the huntress can kill a banshee pretty quickly so I would also try to eat through the budget with them as well.

 

I think with Geth Scanner you will get this easier. Just dark channel if there are a lot of threats in the area and run away. Seperate the targets and take them down that way.

Also on the topic of dealing with bosses I was trying to kill off all the smaller enemies like the husks,marauders etc as these were a bigger problem to me than the bosses due to my low health but that led to a really long game where it took me 50 mins+ to reach wave 9 but I'll focus on the bosses next time.

If you don't need grenades and already have hunter mode, nothing else comes close. Especially while soloing (unless you want to cheat and use AC)

 

Brutes and ravagers should probably be the priority, but take care of the mooks as soon as you come across them.

The geth scanner is good for solos, but it's potential lies in shooting the enemies through walls, that needs drill or AP ammo. If you know the map and spawns you can do without. I'd rather take more power gear - the one that gives biotic damage and pistol bonus +12% is quite nice with her if you want to run with a pistol (which can take another power amp).

I add Responder loadout to Techno's list, having 9 medi-gels is pretty OP. Survivor loadout is decent on the Juggy.

Geth Scanner will keep you from getting flanked, Dark Channel+Warp+Warp Rounds will explode/kill stuff fairly fast. As a bonus, your heavy melee will destroy husks and stun most everything else.

 

Stick to cover, Dark Channel and warp, shoot, cloak and reposition if you're getting overrun.

Once you have played more, you will become addicted to Geth Scanner .. it's like space crack on steriods

 

There are only 3 kits in the game that I don't use either Geth Scanner or Grenade Capacity with (although i'm starting to think that with the right spec, the Talon may be best with Assault Loadout?)

Scanner is a crutch and makes you a worse player. Don't use it. Use the medigel transmitter instead. Oh, and switch to a quarian.

A high level PPR is also very good on her, you can use TC frequently and inflict a lot of damage from a safe distance.
