I'm playing the PC version and right now my character is at a romantic crossroads. At camp I've been romancing both Morrigan and Leliana and they are about to force me to choose. Before doing so I want to know what the future holds with either. The wikia entry for Morrigan states that she will leave the Warden at the end regardless but the entry for Leliana doesn't say. Can anyone tell me what happens at the end if I choose Leliana?

Problem is not who you choose, but if you are too rude with Morigane, you'll loose her and then she will not help you for final fight.

I guess you are at your first run, then you are still learning the game, and loosing her can be dealy.

It depends on if you hardened Leliana or not, whether you had the discussion about what to do after this is all over and what you said during that discussion... also what you say to her after the final battle. In general, she stays with you if you want her to, sometimes it implies briefly, sometimes not. That's about the only real difference.

I've hardened Leliana. If I choose her, will Morrigan still help later like Anelace said?

What happens to Leliana depends on an entirely different choice you make as PC. And hardening her or not is really only one part of the equation. And whether Morrigan stays or leaves really doesn't have anything to do with hardening Leliana.

"Hardening" Leliana really has more to do with how she'll react to 'your' endgame choices. Hardened or not, Lel won't leave over Morrigan's 'suggestion.'

Yeah, their choices are basically independent of each other. Morrigan will always leave at the end of the game, if she is still there at all. But she'll leave before the final battle if you turn down the offer, regardless of your standings with anyone else.

There are lots of variations, as you can tell by others' answers, and exactly what ending you get will vary depending on many factors.

In short, though, Morrigan will leave either before the final battle (if you choose to say no to impregnating her) or immediately after it (if you agree).

Leliana will stay with you until the end - and basically permanently - as long as you don't drive her away or kill her at other points in the game *cough* Urn of Sacred Ashes *cough*. Or break up with her, of course, which you can do all along.

[Edited for typos.]

Nope. In the looks department Morrigan wins by a long shot(especially those nice green eyes). Leliana's nose is too big, I needed to download a mod to make her look good to me.

You don't really care about being spoiled about the ending?

Short answer - Pick Leliana if you want a happy ending with your romance..

Well if anything, Morrigan gives you ring that does 2+ will. Leliana gives you nothing.

Then, you've answered your own question.

Wait you don't romance people based on their looks? Whats wrong with you? And before you ask, I know something is wrong with me.

And here I thought Morrigan's eyes were yellow all this time.

Me too :P

I agree that it's impossible for a male player NOT to romance Morrigan. I mean, her hair, eyes and robes are all unique and exclusive to her which make her look more attrative than any other female in the game. Not to mention she is voiced by Claudia Black who is arguably the best female voice actor in the business There is something about that voice that makes you crazy. And all sorts of other things such as the ridiculous amounts of gifts you can give her to get her approval.

It's like Bioware intented to make male players drool over her and ignore everything else. They even said she symbolizes the game world of DAO iirc. And in the end she kicks you in the balls... nice one Bioware.

I faced the same choice on my first playthrough and I feel I can safely say - Follow your <3.  Don't metagame your choice depending on the ending.  It will make whatever one you choose less satisfying.  If it helps just think of it this way - I found that Morrigan's ending was the more emotional "tug on your heart strings" story line (I actually teared up going into the end game quest and reading the epilogue) while Leliana's is (more or less depending on choices) the soft and squishy happy ending.

For myself I ended up choosing Morrigan on the first playthrough.  I actually didn't even play the game for a couple days while I agonized over the decision.  My wife got a real good laugh at this and has refered to Morrigan as the "other woman" ever since.  I still consider it the better ending though even though it wasn't all that happy....

I just say, don't make a decision until you get to Redcliffe. I wanted to end with Morrigan the whole way. However, Leliana is ultimately sweeter and ginuine. I ended it with Morrigan, I didn't make them make me choose. I spoke to Morrigan about not going in my tent. She ask me to break up with her, so I obliged. I believe after I recieved "the offer", my final words to Morrigan were, "I should have killed you when I had a chance." The witch lied throughout the whole journey and I resented that tremendously.

Both are attractive and have their good points. As it will turn out Leliana is genuine and not a social retard. The swamp witch thinks "love is a weakness," lives her life to acquire power, and just when you think you are making a difference in this troglodyte's life, she'll kick you square in the ba!!s and make a chump of you.

The lack of any realistic option at the end with Morrigan (dialgoue or actions that would have been in character for my PC anyway) is the real reason to romance Leliana. Morrigan is allowed to have her way with you in the dialogue at the Dark Ritual and is allowed to get away scot free; no confrontation; no forcing her to come clean. You part is to play the fool. Leliana is well adjusted, sincere, comes clean about her past when she trusts you, and gives proper affect in her approval of your good actions (as any normal human would).

Hands down it's Leliana. Morrigan, for all her "charm" and her ability to make you believe she's changing (which she desperately needs to do BTW) is only there as a plot device. You can't kill her, send her packing (she always comes back to fulfill her "mission"), slap the s#it out of her, cuss her out, threaten her or kick her &$s. The writers were very good with her in luring just about every guy that's played this game into romancing her and making him believe he was her salvation. Most of us have been snookered, don't add yourself to that sad list.

Shale knows who Morrigan is. Listen to their banter when they're together in the party.

Peace.

Only if you do the ritual. The Leliana ending if you choose sacrifice is pure heartache, IMHO.

You can alter her personality a little by making certain dialogue choices. To be specific, I believe it's when she is discussing Marjolaine. You must tell her she is like her or something or another. At least that is how it was explained to me.

"Hardening" Leliana ultimately means convincing her to embrace the side of herself that loved being a Bard. You don't have to convince her she's like Marjolaine to do that, however.
