I like Hawke, and am genuinely curious about what happened to them at the end of DA2. But I really don't want to see too much of them ![]()
I'm guessing the breach might be partially Hawke's fault, anyway! Easier to blame everything on the champion.
Replaying DA2 recently, and I have to admit that both male and female Hawke have grown on me. It would be a pleasant surprise to play as Hawke in DAI as brief as that may be.
I tried replaying it as well, but didn't get far, I can't find a way to play Hawke that makes me care in the slightest tbh.
In the end, I just went through the Keep, and it made me realise just how uninteresting the whole story is.
Has anyone not considered the possibility that this might be a two pronged attack with the Inquisitor somewhere else and Hawke being assisted by some of the Inquisitor's followers ?
@pablosplinter: I am currently playing Hawke as a just a fairly unworldly commoner who isn't really familiar with dealing with "big players".
Loves her family and has no real aspirations for greatness and is kinda just being pulled around by the world.
And - I'm actually enjoying it.
I know what will happen now - so things like Anders totally usurping my storyline with his terrorist act won't bother me quite so much.
====
We have to remember - Morrigan plays a "significant role" too... and we won't play her.
So I really hope I'm not forced to play Hawke.

As I said in another thread, I think the only thing that would get me excited about Hawke being in the game, was if they could be some kind of antagonist, with the Inquisitor and Hawke facing off. You can fight Hawke, or not. It could have been very interesting, and I feel that 10 years ago Bioware may well have done this, but not now unfortunately.

Lol. What isn't Hawke's fault these days?
Hawke the El' Nino of Theadas.
I want to stab him alright.
^NOT HER!!!^
I want to shag her alright. ![]()
Seems rather obvious that the Inquisitor is pulled into or trapped in the fade - in part due to his mark. And that Hawke has to rescue us from the fade. Or something like that...
I much preferred my Wardens over my Hawkes, and frankly I was looking forward to DA:I was going to be my Quizzie's story rather then being gatecrashed by that rather overrated Hawke (whom Thedas seems to revolve around), so it's a double downer for me.
If it is a "two-pronged attack" like someone just suggested, then it's not as bad though - I can deal with that. Would be interesting if only one of the two parties could survive, so essentially you would need to choose between your Quizzie + their team and your Hawke + their team. ![]()

Oh no, we're all doomed!
OK...just kidding, I like my Hawkes, but they'd better not bring their luck along. ![]()
I have mixed feelings about Hawke being so deeply involved in the plot of the game. I did love my Hawke and enjoyed him/her, but I feel that their story is done at the end of DA:II. I want this new story to be about the Inquisitor. I don't mind Hawke appearing at some point, but I don't really like the idea of them being the center of a big plot.
Also, the quest where the Inquisitor is nowhere to be seen- I have a theory. It looks like they're in the Fade. I think the Inquisitor was probably sucked into the Fade by some demon wanting to use his/her power, and so the Inquisitor needs to be rescued by the companions and Hawke. I have to admit, I do kind of like that idea.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the height of dark fantasy.
In Dragon Age Inquisition you will hear THIS from fan favorite Hawke: "Ooppps."
DA:I has been rated M - for excessive use of Hawke's luck.
Mike Hawke will probably end up trying to save Assquisitor from his evil twin impersonator that we seen in trailers but will end up making bigger mess in his trademark fashion.
And you can't assume Hawke doesn't leave Lothering a couple months after the warden passes through? It doesn't get overrun till after the first treaty? It's not like he teleported to Kirkwall the day the warden wandered through Lothering!!
Nor did Anders just meet the Warden and decide the following week, "Hey, Justice, let's blow this popsicle stand."
Timeline in this game has always been a little hinkey to start with. The book doesn't clarify it much better.
Remember, there are periods where things can overlap. I will accept that argument, but saying Act 1 of DA2 happens before Awakenings is stretching it.
You can assume that allright. Then you can assume that each treaty took about 3 months (12 / 4 treaties).
3 months (1st treaty) + 2 weeks (that's how long it took them to get to Kirkwall, according to varric)
Still plenty of time left for the two two games to overlap.
You can believe this or not. This is your choice, snd I can't prove what I said with hard facts since, as you said, there are no official sources explaining this in details.
But this topic has been discussed to death, here and on other forums. The general consesus seems to be like how I desribed it.
I just hope that doesn't mean they die.

That's how I feel as well.
I like my Hawke's just fine, but this is about the Inquisitor.
Everyone dies.
Not everyone truly lives!
