I posted this via the feedback feature on the Keep, but figure I should put it here, too:

I know there are not any current plans to have either the Warden or Hawke appear in DA:I but the Keep should still feature a way to import the players' likenesses of those characters into the world. There could be statutes, paintings, flashbacks or any other manner of way they might appear down the road. We use "Warden" and "Champion" and "Hawke" because we can't have characters voicing all the possible names that we choose, but there are other ways besides character choices to make our former protagonists live in the current game world.

Actually (and I'm sure I'll be shot down if this is wrong!) I believe it's been said that Hawke will appear in DA:I, and that it's been indicated that we will be given something like a Character Creator tool so that we can make his/her appearance the same as that in our DA2 games.

I may be wrong, but I'm fairly sure that's the current position.

No kidding? I hadn't heard that at all - kind of wish I hadn't! Considering they import the character's likeness to the Bioware Social page, I'm hoping there's some methodology for porting over the settings to Inquisition. It would be supremely stressful to try creating the character from scratch. There must be a way to get that information from DA:O and DA2 into DA:I in the same way the game can import your careers into the Keep.

Well, from my point of view, none of my characters seem to be showing anywhere on BSN and have never ported into the Keep. I'm not saying it's anyone's fault (and it may even be mine!) but for all those of us in that position, a Character Creator would be welcome news!

Anyway, I guess we'll know for certain soon - one way or the other!

The Keep does not have face maps, and even if it did the graphics engines have changed making such face maps worthless. There is no practical way to import faces from DAO or DA2 into DAI. You'll just have to recreate Hawke the best you can.

Besides that DA:O and DA2 have no face data code stuff anyway,

I am pretty sure the faces are generated in completely different ways then in past games so just having an import to recreate the faces could be an undertaking that would divert too many resources for the amount of gain.  The picture The Keep is using is just the profile picture the games themselves created when generating your character.  If that wasn't there I am pretty sure we wouldn't even have that.

There were a lot of problems importing a character between Mass Effect 2 and 3, where they were using the same game engine just upgraded with a few new features and for the PS3.

The one thing I'd like to have, though, would be some kind of import of the portrait of the Hawke we've selected for a given world state, not any kind of face scan, just the image of the custom Hawke we've attached to that particular world state, give us a reference when we're making Hawke.

I'd like to the option to change my wardens face a bit, if it's not possible then at least the ability to remove that warden from my options so I can make a new one.

Look at it in the keep while you create?

I'm guessing that's what I'll have to do. I hope the option is there at launch, otherwise I'm forced to wait until it's there. If Hawke does appear in DA:I, then I'm not playing it until that option is available. I'm not reliving the unhappiness that was the face import fiasco at ME3's launch.

The online profiles are back, so you can look at it there too

Well importing the face into DA:I would have been impossible under basically all circumstances - the game uses a new engine. Asking the new engine to recreate the old face would be equivalent to asking the developers to design a machine to reproduce your lego art using pictures cut out of magazines; it's not remotely feasible in any sort of 'quality reproduction' sense. However, if you find it to be a little off, take comfort in the fact that you've never actually seen the real Hawke before, only how he was described by Varric, who is a very unreliable narrator.

Did you look up the tutorial on how to sync? The Keep does NOT detect your characters and upload them, you must do certain things to make them appear in your Keep. Have this tutorial  http://forum.bioware...cial-faq-fails/
