Hey guys, I've tried searching for an answer to this question on the forums but only came up with some feature suggestions from 2012, so here it goes:

Will we be able to tweak our Inquisitor's appearance midgame, similar to how we could change Hawke's appearance using the Mirror of Transformation in DA II?

I know there are many other people who, like me, after spending hours in the character creator and then even more hours playing, find out that they've made a mistake and to correct it they would have to start the game all over again! This is especially frustrating in RPGs of the caliber of DA:I, in which you can sink up to hundreds of hours of gameplay, so I do hope that BioWare has implemented an equivalent of the Mirror of Transformation into DA:I as well.

I would really appreciate if a member of the dev team or someone in contact with the dev team could provide a clear answer to this question, thanks!  :D

They have no current plans for something like this, but did not squash the possibility of some DLC in the future that would be similar.

I'd say they have more important things on their mind.  But given the complaints about hairstyles, they might give us something like the Black Emporium.

Yeah, I would rather have Mass Effect's face codes than having the option to rebuild my face in the middle of the game. Face codes are the best.

Right, thanks a lot for replying! Oh boy, I guess I'll have to spend even more time in the character creator now, just to be sure!  :(

If only they released the character creator prior to launch, so that people could create their characters while waiting for the game and then jump straight in! That would be really sweet and they did with Origins, so why not do it with Inquisition as well?  :P

So it's confirmed it's not in the game already?

I would've liked a feature like this as I always have second thoughts after creating my characters, but it's no biggie.

Personally i decide my character's appearance is what the character creator. So i have no issues with its absence.

You won't be seeing that at launch, I doubt it. It's something I see them adding as part of DLC later on.

This was touched on in the Twitch stream September 29th: http://www.twitch.tv/bioware/c/5285860 - 21m

It's not there for launch.

BioWare know about the interest in what they reference as the 'face melter'.

They say they would be interested in it for later (no promises)

The DAI CC is pretty complex, with more than just sliders, but 2D grids and colour wheels, so a change (or issuing face codes) is complex.

They have tried to have neutral lighting in the CC so that the character look is representative of the game.

Its strange that they didn't put something in like mirror that ships with the game....but then I guess they would lose out on the DLC sales if they did....

Honestly, it's somewhat of an odd feature that I'd assume most of the community never asks for. It's a feature that very few games even support. Period. I'd suggest spending a lot of time in the CC and making sure you absolutely love the way your Inquisitor looks before continuing onward.

Personally, I wish they had a limited version of it, just to change hair and makeup (not the whole appearance) so that you can realistically lengthen or cut hair over time. But it's no big deal. The CC does look amazing in this game.

I think their goal was to remove the need to change your character's appearance mid-game by reducing the chance of accidentally creating a less than ideal looking character. They also said that the area your character is in after creating him/her uses a lighting that is used in most areas throughout the game. If you were to create an ugly inquisitor, you should be able to see it at the beginning and you will be able to quickly restart.

Still, it's always good to have the option. Sometimes, I get bored of having the same hairstyle throughout the game. People change their hair all the time in real life. Also, maybe your Inquisitor has a beard and you want to shave it. We should at least have those options in my opinion.

I don't remember which dev it was but one of them tweeted i believe that at this time there is nothing like the black emporium in the game, but something like that may be added after release.
