I've had mine pre-ordered for a long time.

No,  I haven't changed my mind about it at all.
If anything, I convinced more people that they need it, too.

If we fall, we fall together.

Do you still plan on buying the game?
Is auto attack in itself that important a feature for you, that solely because of it you will not buy an RPG?

For people with disabilities or injuries, yes. It is hugely insensitive for Bioware to change this feature just for the action junkies out there.

Well, assuming that said disability or injury prevents lots of clicking, you are going to have a problem even *with* auto attack, no?

Maybe it's easier in this case to play mostly on tactical mode.

But yeah, I didn't think on that angle. Good point.

I think pre-ordering is a bad thing if it's an impulse buy. or if you have pretty big misgivings about the game and hope that your fears won't come true. Because hope is often the first step on a road to dissapointment. If you pre-order in those situaions, you do yourself a disservice, and if you are not sure about a game, waiting even a couple days for reviews, youtube videos and fan feedback is always wiser. At worst you'll miss a few pre-order feelies and not playing a 100 hours long RPG for a few days. The horror!

Personally, I have neither of those. I never impulse buy anything (hell, my friends joke that I'm a cheapstake sometimes) and while I think some of Bioware's decisions are a bit questionable on the nitty gritty of the gameplay (8 abilities, no auto-attack, HP bloat of enemies primarily), damn near everything else I saw about the game has my approval, and I know my experience wouldn't be broken even if some features gameplay wise don't satisfy me. So I stand by my pre-order of the deluxe edition.

What's more, this isn't a Watch Dogs situation where all gameplay footage is heavily doctored, or worse, uses vertical slicing to make the game look better. Bioware has let the game speak for itself on numerous occasions, doing gameplay presentations, streams in several platforms and sending the game to a variety of Youtube personalities without having oversight over what they did, saw or said in their videos. Their marketing campaign has been up-front and pretty honest, and I respect that, especially after Dragon Age's fairly bad history in terms of marketing.

Now, whenever one likes what Bioware has shown, is completely up to them. But I think they have shown enough information that a discerning customer can make an informed decision about their purchase, and I don't think there's anything wrong with pre-ordering the game so long as you use what they have shown to inform yourself first.

I wasn't optimistic at all at first, then the combat videos came along and I lost even more hope. But recently, I'm starting to think it's going to be a great game. I've pre-ordered.

There is a huge difference between clicking once every five or ten seconds and clicking nonstop, roughly a click a second, for hours on end. People with arthritis, as an example, can still use a computer and keyboard fine, but have serious problems having to press keys rapidly for extended periods of time.

I understand not everyone can be happy wih every decision, but to change this just so players can feel more "pew-pew-pew" in a game is silly at best, offensive at worst.

On Easy (which is what I play on) you can beat large numbers of fights with just auto attack. I have a friend who'll be getting DAI at release who's agreed to tell me if he thinks it'll be hard on my hand.

Also bad for those of us who have poor reaction times and tire easily. Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to find the next enemy and sometimes I just need a break.

Well, since it's a party based game, you don't have to rely only on AA, you can also rely on your followers to use their abilities as well,

that's what we have tactics for... :)

I hope you will get to play and enjoy DA:I.

I've only ever played Bioware games by either borrowing my friends' copies or buying them second-hand. So pre-ordering Inquisition seemed like a good way to pay them back for the good times I have had with their products. I have my reservations about the game, mostly about combat, but I'm hoping it will be nothing that will make me ditch the game. I'm really kind of looking forward to it.

No, I haven't changed my mind since MP was announced. I don't like it, so I will wait and see. The game will still be there when I decide to get it. I can live without the Flaming gear.

I have a PS4 physical edition pre-ordered from Amazon (because you can cancel it), but I'm still really struggling over physical vs. digital and over the platform a little. (I could technically play it on any platform, but I'm 90% certain of the PS4, just because it's generally my preferred and you can't use a DS4 with the PC and hooking the PC up to the TV is something I do but not something I leave hooked up 100% of the time, and XB1 does have the DLC sooner, but lower graphics and a worse controller for my taste, etc.)

I really can't decide between digital vs. physical and keep going back and forth.

But in terms of pre-ordering some version, I'm definitely keeping my pre-order. The more I see, the more I like. But I would play this game immediately no matter what. There is no game I'm looking forward to more. Dragon Age is my very favorite game series, and Bioware is probably my favorite dev.

I have an Inquisitor's Edition pre-ordered, but I have been considering downgrading to Digital Deluxe.
I'm trying to put together a new PC and the money I'd save from that would help a lot.

Thing is, once I cancel that Inquisitor's Edition there's no going back...

I do feel badly for people who have legitimate health problems or disabilities that are impacted by the no-auto attack. That is the only feature change I am concerned with (it's fine for me, but I really think considering physical limitations of gamers is important). I hope your friend reports it's not as bad as you're worried it is and you're able to play the game you want or that there is some workaround.

I was pretty turned off by the game for a while and was planning on not pre-ordering (or even buying the game TBH), but that was until BioWare toned down the super bright color scheme and I saw Mr. Laidlaw play the PC version of the game. I was somewhat worried that the tactical nature of combat would be practically non-existant and basically just super crappy button mashing like in Skyrim. But that isn't the case, so I pre-ordered.  :D

There are still a few things about the game that I dislike or am on the fence about. Stuff like the limitation of eight offensive abilities per character, which is not enough for high-level mages IMO; the lack of a healer class and limited healing, which makes combat less tactical; and the completely overdone super sexy f**ky f**ky long time drivel - I am seriously starting to get annoyed by BioWare romance, which really hasn't been any good since Baldur's Gate 2... but at least the game won't have a blue lesbian alien sex doll race that will f**k anything (I hope not at least).

I have not changed my mind on the matter, because I don't preorder games.

It has nothing to do with the quality of the game in question.

I recently canceled my pre-orderon Amazon. I am going to purchase it digitally to ensure I will not have to wait a single minute to play.

Well, does not knowing if it would be available for digital pre-order on my Xbox One until MS announced digital pre-ordering and preloading count? Because I always planned on buying Inquisition digitally, even if it meant waiting until release day for the option to purchase and download it. But now it sits on my external hard drive, teasing me with the fact that I must wait a few more weeks before I can play it.

nope, got my digital deluxe awaiting download on 11/14.  Wish i could play it then, but have to wait like everyone else in the US for 11/17

Be glad you get it earlier than we Europeans do...sorry, but I really hate this - there are no valid reasons anymore to have different release-dates (the industry should exert it's considerable power and pressure retailers to put that practice to rest - it's a freakin' dinosaur left over from the non-internet world and should be treated as such!)

I will pre-order (not sure which edition...digital-delux has some pretty nice pre-order goodies...but I would like to have a physical copy as well...yes, I am a dinosaur in that respect, as is probably seems rather old-fashioned) it shortly (the footage on YT and Twitch changed my mind...I was going to wait after DA2 and ME3 which were both unsatisfying (ME3 was the worse game of the two though - It still enrages me when I think about it...while DA2 doesn't get me enraged - on the whole that game was more satisfying than ME3 and DA2 didn't have marketing lies (many different endings - when it really was just the colour of that explosion that was different -.-))...

I hope I am not getting burned again as well - A lot of gameplay changes, ranging from no-health-regeneration, to no healing-spells, to weapon-restrictions, to 8-ability-slots (come on if I want that, I will play League of Legends or Diablo III), to auto-dialogue, not fully writen PC-Statements (don't like the paraphrasing the dialogue-wheel presents us with...) and voiced (and many others I can't remember ATM...should probably write a list ^^) are not to my liking either (note: my biggest problem is, that they don't seem to listen to us fans...they even defend choices we think are total crap (no-regen and no healing for example!), but they don't change it back...) - but I will wait and see (if the game doesn't snare me - like KOTOR, DA:O, ME1 and 2 did, then it will probably be my last Bioware pre-order though!)

greetings LAX

I've pre-ordered every BioWare game since the first Mass Effect, and there's certainly no reason to stop now.  ;)

I waited forever (it felt like) for retailers to start taking pre-orders, so when the Inquisitor's Edition finally became available, I immediately snapped one up for my PS4. When I thought about it though, I worried that even though I paid for fast shipping my Quizzie's Edition might still get delayed. So....I also ordered a DE for my Xbox One at my local Gamestop so I can pick it up at midnight and play right away. I feel secure now that I'm covered either way.

Only 17 more days and the precious shall be mine!

im gonna play DA:I regardless.. because its.. well.. DA..

as for pre-ordering specifically.. i waited on the DLC that is coming on the deluxe edition.. once i found it was all fluff, soundtrack, etc.. i went ahead and pre-ordered..

if their would have been day one story DLC in the deluxe edition, i would have waited for a sale.  day 1 story DLC (even if its minor (which is subjective)) is the bane of the industry IMO.

I'll pre-order the digital deluxe on Origin closer to release. There is no hurry or benefit to doing it now versus then. This, as well as ACU and FC4 will be on my list of must haves.
