There is no reason to preorder and with the history of EA/Bioware releases I better play it save and read a bunch of reviews.

haven't preordered and might stick to this, but will buy the game in a shop on releasedate nonetheless, just to be able to play asap.

It's wierd. Decided to play on PS4. I would have preordered, but the PS4 Shop keeps telling me the releasedate will be november 21,

while I'm pretty sure the correct date (for germany in my case) will be november 20th. Just one day, I know, but whats the matter of preorder, if

I can't get it as fast as possible. I'm much too hyped to wait that one day, while knowing I could play it instead.

I thought the U.S. (maybe North America?) release was 11/18 and UK/Euro was 11/21. I didn't know any were on Thurs. It is possible that smaller retailers release products early (I've seen it happen) though. They're not SUPPOSED to, of course.

I will never understand the hate for ME3. People complain about the ending, but the entire game was the conclusion to the trilogy and it was awesome. The very end was a little weak, but by no means diminished the rest of the game. DA2 on the other hand...

I don't know what's the big deal? Seriously, it's only $5 to preorder the thing at Gamestop, and whenever you decide to pick it up, you get the preorder items, or even if you don't pick it up, you can transfer the money to something else?

So yes, I've not only preordered the game, but put down the full $70 for the deluxe version.

I still remember the rush job that was DA2 and the ME3 debacle, and then there's the whole "no healing magic or potions" thing they're trying to do, and that EA is still pulling the strings sooo...

NO, I'll wait for reviews or the eventually fan backlash, whichever comes first.

I knew I would preorder this game. I did, months ago.

Recently however I cancelled that preorder and instead digitally preloaded the game on my Xbox One.

So really, it was just a preorder switch of sorts.

I preordered back in July if I recall correctly.  I have been keeping an eye on game play videos and I am fairly certain it will at least avoid many of the blunders DA:2 had for me.  DA:I for all intents and purposes looks to be a great blending of the few parts I did like about DA:2 and DA:O.

I did play ME3 and that game was absolutely wonderful, and actually it too had a perfect blending of customization and rpg elements from ME1 and the combat systems from ME2.  Its only downfall for me was the exceptionally lame ending so if anything ME3 played a reverse role for me preordering this game, because I remembered the amazing experience leading up to the last fifteen minutes of that game heh.

DA:I looks to be exceptionally massive in scale in comparison to its predecessors.  I am really excited for a true open world experience and so far from what I have observed in the gameplay videos I think I will be quite entertained with this game.

I also enjoyed ME3, but that poor game gets hatred just because it's "ending" (seriously, this is like hating Hercules TV-Series just because of the last season when they where screaming literally "WE HAVE NO MORE IDEAS" to the audience) Sadly i can't say the same about DA2:

- Useless protagonist: I have nothing against commoners, playing as weakling Lucas in earthbound was great, I've enjoyed MDickie's games where you start being a lame wrestling fan and make your way up to the Legends of ring. But Hawke was incredible useless, Hawke in dragon age universe is the equivalent of Yamcha: A character that COULD HAD potential but due lack of talents, willpower and so on is just good for nothing... If Bubsy the Bobcat didn't exist Hawke could be the most useless protagonist in game story

- Reused scenarios: Nuff Said, even RPG Maker "one man army independent" games have more maps than DA2, and better designed too

- BOOOOORING PINATA PARTY: IDK what the hell where they thinking in mimicing those lame Dinasty Warriors gameplay adding parachutting waves a la plant vs zombies... Even Final Fight in their bosses fights had enemies falling KO when the boss was dead, in DA2 i had to beat more 5 or 6 waves of enemies that had "hurt me plenty" and "kick me" signs on them all the time... Even spore space phase was more fun than this

- Linear story were decisions DOESN'T matters: I felt hawke's decisions didn't affect anything, unlike Shephard and Warden the resolution of Hawke's decisions always ended in the same place, either reality bended to continue the LAME WRITTEN story of Kirkwall or just had absolutely no point: kill arishok or send Isabella to him Qunaris leave Kirkwall, Support mages or support templars, it didn't matters, you have to kill them all in more BOOORING long battles that offer absolutely no strategy aside button mashing.

- Ridicoulus Retcons: good ridance, the returning characters were bastardized (if lucky): Flemmeth is now a qunari woman, Merill is childish and irresponsable, Sandal looked creepy, Anders was completely destroyed by LAME WRITTING SKILLS... comparing Harry Potter to Twilight is like comparing Assimov's sci-fi with Nietzche's "philosophy".

- Gets better with DLC: A game that is just (slightly) good because of it's dlc is not a game, is a demo made game. DLC is the worst thing ever in gaming industry

- TOO EXPENSIVE: Tried to mimic FFXIII? this thing should had cost LESS than MS-DOS games nowadays in origin. DA2 is not worthy more than 2 USD, it has absolutely no strenghts against other BW stuff, and no it's not a decent game, if it was a decent game i won't compare it with crap games like god of war.

Mike Laidlaw has said this many times, the 8 abilities slot was to make the game more challenging making you need to prepare before you rush off to combat. and PC DA:2/DA:O and console could use every ability they had unlocked not just 6. so they could have obviously done that in this one too but they chose to take it from all players for the exact reason i previously said.

With all due respect to Mr. Laidlaw (which I actually like after seeing dem videos. cool stuff), I don't wan't to change my "spell / skill loadout" before a fight, I simply don't consider something like this a fun activity.

People said it before me: Should my Warrior simply forget how to shield bash, my Rogue how to backstab, and my Mage how to throw a fireball between one fight to the next? That the sort of immersion breaking stuff really grates on my nerves, especially when "balance" is arbitrary really, and after taking out the supposedly biggest enemy of balancing - infinite healing, there shouldn't have been such a burning need to restrict and nerf even further.

also not sure what the deal is with people herp derping about the 8 abilities. as a rogue and warrior I rarely ever used more then 8. certainly not in one battle. many of the rogues abilities were redundant and could have been merged. mage I can possibly see as an annoyance, but again there was a fair amount of fluff that could be cut out.

Maybe there was fluff in DA:O's abilities, but part of the allure of RPG's, is the ability to branch out with skills and spells, and anyway, going from dozens of choices in DA:O to just eight, seems like a needlessly harsh change to me in order to "Streamline" things.

You might not be interested, but that does not mean that the option should not exist for those that are.

Normaly people do the same in real life.

you dont bring a canon to a knife fight.

if your a seal you use your wepaons of choice to prepare.

the design choice they went for allows a more tactical/strategical approach which I guess wont be for everyone.

However it make sense for Bioware since they do all these options to choose the story its in their thinking already to do such and have such options for combat also..

If the game is crap, we get our money back on Origin. So I guess no harm pre-ordering.

Hmm.... I want my money back for Destiny and Watch Dogs... =(

Yes and no to the OP. I've lost the vehement post-ME3 feelings, and for the most part I like what I've seen about this game so far.

On the other hand I never saw much I don't really see the point in pre-order. I don't really need to be playing it the very second it comes out, just going to the shops that weekend and picking it up is fine. And on this occasion I'd rather wait a bit to benefit from the early bug fixes, and user feedback on how the 360 version plays versus next gen...

Bioware is still a developer I trust enough to pre-order their games.   Just manage your expectations on your end.   Even DA2 wasn't a bad game in the grand scheme of the entire gaming industry, it just was a mediocre offering that left its flaws glaring in the shining brilliance that was DA:O.    Its major failing for me was my own expectations were far too high.    I don't ever put those kinds of expectations on a game anymore.

DA:I was never going to be a game that I would consider not buying or even waiting for 'reviews' first.

There are design decisions in DA:I that I don't think I will like, but they never discouraged me from buying the game.

totally agree. i had a lot of fun with DA II!!!! although where can you go after a game like DA Origins??? DAO quickly became my fave all time RPG!!! bumping games down on my top 5 like PSO and Baldur's Gate, many diff final fantasies, etc...

I even kinda knew before the game came out what I fealt about the game it was really weird!!! I still remember the cold day i woke at 10am to go grab it from gamestop and came home to play it on 4 hours of sleep all the way through till 7am the next day, and i BARELY EVER play games like that anymore!!!

I have the same feeling about DAI... whne i see the videos of the gameplay where yo ucan traverse a big beautiful map, and all of a sudden just go into a cave and theres a whole new adventure every turn you make, i knew it was exactly what i wanted...

its also crazy that after DA2 i would tell my friends that i would love to play a DA game that had a world to character 1:1 ratio, and that the maps were like an open world and the feeling of walking through a desert or forest to finally make it to the gates of a big castle and walk in without load screens!!! i'm just remember this now and its so crazy to me that its basically what bioware did with DAI, or pretty damn close...

it's almost if not completely, exactly what i would want in a game, and NO ONE else makes games like this.

it has the gear and loot you can equip and see and great RPG  features of a D&D like experience-

and then it has character interactions that make you that much more invested in the game, it COMPLETELY enhances my motivation and i really feel like theres no better game than that!!!

sorry i sideswipped this quote/reply. but yes i agree DA2 had its merits. in fact i loved its skill trees and i'm happy to see them evolved and injected into DAI!!!!

man i cant wait for this game.....

PS- for those of you who are STILL droning on about "trusting" bioware, it shows your lack of time experience with bioware. because i have been following bioware since 1997. and i bought my first PC to play Baldur's Gate, i had previously only been a console gamer my whole life other than some great PC games i had played on family and freinds computers. the gold boxes//dark sun//ultima//ravenloft//starcraft//diablo.

anyways, i looke at the WHOLE of bioware games, not just one "i didnt like from 3 years ago" and see a great pattern of RPGs that many other companies can't compare to, units of, and quality of those units.

of the 11+ games developed, there are 3 i'm not IN LOVE with. and i still enjoy those games more than any average game developed by another company.

so thats a pretty good track record, i absolutely love 70%+ of ever game bioware makes. and like the other 30%. so if you are late to the party and are complaining about 1 game DA2, or at most two games DA2 and ME3 (which makes no sense, IMO ME3 is as good if not better than ME2) of the last 3 or 4 games, you just aren't seeing the whole picture.

and basing that opinion on such a small window of games, and trashing bioware//DA2 any time bioware is mentioned (which happens 100% of the time on every website i frequent), then it's a poor scientific method of reasoning. you don't have ALL the data to make such a judgement on a company that has made so many games over the last 15+ years.

The only time I have ever changed my mind on preordering it had nothing to do with the game it self. It was whether or not I would have the funds when November (at the time I originally ordered, October) rolled around. Money is very tight and I have tried to make sure the money is in the bank for whenever Origins decides to finally take my money. I wish they would already, I hate having that money just sitting there and hoping I don't accidentally dip into it.

So far I am loving everything im seeing about DA:I. And glad that I preordered. And hopefully I won't regret it. But I was apparently one of the minority that enjoyed DA2.

After DA: 2, SWTOR and Mass effect 3 (not the whole game itself but the dlc and ending), Bioware needs to earn my trust to pre order any game they make. While i've followed DA:I for a while and am fairly hyped it could still turn out to be disappointing. I will still buy the game unless the reviewers all hate it which i know won't happen but pre ordering is showing support/trust to a developer that i feel needs to earn it back first, for me personally.

Nope no pre orders since DA2 and ME3 don't care about hype or footage shown only way to really know if a game delivers is when other gamers get and play it critic reviews tend to be overly positive and build false hype in most cases.

I pre-ordered the collector's edition as soon as I could and I haven't changed my mind. ME3's ending may have been disappointing but it was only ten minutes of a game I otherwise loved (despite the horrible quest journal). DAII was fun despite it's flaws. So I have no reason not to pre-order really.
