So I understand how the keep is to be our quick build up of how we make a "Previously on DA:O &DA2" story on DA:I. I understand how this is usefull to those that lost save data or are switching consoles/pc's to play DA:I. Finally I understand that we can't import saves into the keep. However I have this to say...

I played DA:O & DA2 (with all of their DLC's) on xbox 360 and have all my save files, and I'm getting DA:I on the xbox 360.

Can I directly import my DA2 savings (which should have the DA:O choices since I imported DA:O saves into DA2 saves) into my DA:I story?

Or do I have to depend on the keep for the imported choices instead?

Because if I can't import my personal saves and have to depend on the keep I'll be very sad :(

But if it's because of the different engines between DA2 & DA:I, then it's very understandable. :?

Just need to be clarified on that specific detail on importing stories.

Nope. Your old save files are worthless.

Pretty much this. They even spoke about how mistakes were made while importing choices from DAO into DA2. Bottom line is large amounts of data from Origins was lost when it was imported into DA2, and with the new engine, platforms etc they decided to make a tool that allowed you to "rebuild" your saves in a way that was readable in DA:I.

So yea, prior save games are useless at this point.

Except insofar as it can be useful to refer to the Completed Quest Log in your old saves to help you complete the Tapestry ...

So, although the new game won't import your old saves, you might not want to delete them!  (You know, just in case anyone was thinking of it!)  ;)

I dont know what else is wrong in the Origin one, but it always says you kill Isolde no matter what you do. So don't trust it :)

I believe the Keep is doing fine with rebuilding your saves, it's like playing the game real quick to make sure the choices you made are what you want them to be.  Also imagine you want to change something, without that Keep you would be forced to replay both games just so you don't kill or kill someone important...I would pull my hair until I was bald if I had to do that and the way I play games, I probably would too

The career portion does well to keep track of your achievements and dlc as well so no need to be sad about not being able to use your saves.

You can sync your save files into the Keep, as long as they were previously synced to the Legacy BSN, which you could do right now as long as you have the games with you. BUT, no story flags will be filled out for you or cross over. Syncing uploads your hero's class, first name, gender, (and origin when applicable), with a little portrait so you can recognize them, along with all your achievements, and will also store a record of all the DLC you have bought or otherwise been rewarded. That again, uploading and syncing will pull three things from your save file: your hero (with name, class, gender, origin and portrait), your accomplishments (aka trophies/achievements) and your DLC (both paid, and rewarded).

As syncing is a bit bugged, you may not see your Wardens, Champions, accomplishments or rewards immediately, but they are working on the problem, and it will likely be resolved soon.

So, why bother syncing? Well, for one, if you synced to the legacy BSN by adding your Origin account to DAO and DA2, when you played, it's already done for you. If you haven't, it is worthwhile to note that you cannot edit a Hero's name or portrait within the Keep right now (instead you choose between a number of defaults representing every class/gender/origin combo in the games). It is also a bit up in the air if default Heroes (read Hawke) will also be allowed the ability to change their appearance in DAI, or even their name in DAI or the Keep, so for a true record, you may want to sync.

I'd say always killing Isolde is a feature and not a bug.
