Any special skills?: Knowledge has access to ancient and complex spells, enabling him to affect our sphere of reality beyond the common mage. A lot of his spells either control the raw power of gravity and physics or allow him to pry the minds of mortals, sap their memories, and make them see anything he wishes.

History: Knowledge embodies the virtue of its namesake and inhabits the body a once-respected scholar of Tevinter. Caught in the midst of a political struggle with another magister, the mage was assassinated in the middle of a ritual that was to further his station in Tevinter. Unrefined and unfinished, the spell instead summoned a spirit of the fade and anchored it to the body of the scholar – now left for dead. Uninterested with the petty conflicts of Tevinter, Knowledge set itself out in the world in search of new things to discover – unconcerned with the hubris of men. 

 

Was always interested in the Spirits since they remained largely unexplored, as opposed to demons bar Justice. Would be interesting to meet another - especially more so one that stands in another morally ambiguous sphere!

Home: Displaced after the mage rebellions, his new home would be Skyhold.

Possible Love interest?: Depends. I would say yes, but difficult to do so. Nope. Not romanceable.

Any special skills?: Master of lighting control and healing.

History: Was Dalish, but got taken by Tevinter slavers when he foolishly thought going there would be a good idea for him. He wanted more than the Dalish life. He was saved by a human mage who had been hunting down that particular group for days. After he was set free and encouraged to escape, he left for a human city, not wanting to go back to his clan. Now he is easily considered city elf, having left clan life behind. It was there, a few years later, that he found the one who saved him before. His gratitude grew into greater feelings and they eventually got together. The human mage is convinced of his death, due to him being struck during a rebellion. Reason he's not romanceable: he's looking for her.

History: In an attempt to save the life of his mabari, an ash warrior struck a deal with a demon that transfered the mabaris spirit into his own body.

History- A bard in the service of Empress Celene, Nyxtana was tasked to aid the Inquisition as an extension of Celene's graces, provided the Inquisitor support her in the Inquisition. That said, the Inquisitor can influence Nyxtana. Nyxtana is generally pro-Orlesian as a result of her privileged, if not indentured, status, and dislikes doing things the 'hard way' or overly forceful. She identifies more as Orlesian than elven, and is relatively indifferent about the status of city elves while being completely offput by the antics of the Dalish. Inquisitors who do not support Celene can almost guarantee a betrayal unless they prove themselves worthy of Nyxtana's loyalty.

Any special skills?: Shape Shifter- Can commune with the spirits of the land and animals to help her to hide herself and live easily in the wilds for months at a time.

History: Kalikor is the first of three daughters born to a Chasind Wilder Chief. Her father, Gorzari, is known for his wisdom throughout the tribes, as well as his strong spiritual beliefs. When Kalikor showed signs of magic, he immediately apprenticed her to the finest Tribal Shaman he knew, hoping that her skills would help to aid her tribe in the future. She is said to have an Old Soul, and possesses the wisdom of the ancestors, like her father.

 

 

I still really, really, really want to play a Chasind character at some point in the future... I think their culture just sounds so awesome and interesting.

History: While an infant, his parents arrived in Laysh from parts unknown, either from the northern jungles or from across the western seas. Shortly after, they were killed by a group of darkspawn which are a constant danger in the Anderfels, but he went unnoticed. Later found by a passerby and raised in the local Chantry as an orphan. Received training from a few of the friendlier local Templar which helped him become a capable warrior. A rather devout Andrastian due to being raised in the situation he was, which led to him flirting with the idea of becoming either a Templar or a Brother in the Chantry, but was unable to commit to either because he couldn't bring himself to ignore the hypocrisy and injustice that both organizations are privy to, and that led him to him spending most of his adulthood so far while waiting for a sign of what his purpose in life was. At some point, a particularly large ban of darkspawn attacked the Laysh Chantry. He fought to hold them off to the best of his abilities, but unfortunately he was only one of a few survivors and blames himself for failing to protect the others. Feeling he had nothing left to tie him to the Anderfels, he decided to travel south aimlessly in order to find a way to make Thedas a better place, which is when he met the protagonist.

History: A clan leader, her people joined part of the conflict, as does she. She is very brutal but also has her own rules, she would be the insight into Avaars and their culture. As an individual she has a wry sense of humor. She has many disputes with other clans and part of the issue of getting her to join would involve it. A mother and a grandmother. Someone insightful but can let their passions run away with them. Loyal and even kindly to her own, she is essentially amoral.

Look, I have a massive bias. I will admit it.

 

Also, I don't know if I'd prefer a female Qunari companion as a warrior or a mage. It's really a toss up there because I love both for the race. But since I like to play mages, I'm thinking I'd like to romance the warrior.

 

Nice - strange though (your thought about romancing companions who are another class)...I tend to play mages myself (so much wounderfull lore...and - It's magic, I wanted that forever (since I could read fantasy novels and watch TV)...why would I want to be a mundane? - To quote Bester (Telepath from Babylon 5): It takes centuries to breed a telepath - mundanes breed like rabbits!)) and I tend to go for other mages in the romance department (I like to be understood by my partners - and a non-mage will never get it...they can't...with maybe one exception: Templars...and those I don't really like all that much )

History: Her mother abandoned her after birth because she had no money to feed herself let alone a child, for a long time the child did not have a name until she met a gang of elven smugglers who she eventually joined. They named her Asha after calling her "woman" for months, after a couple of years of staying with these smugglers Asha eventually had began to disconnect with this gang because of their growing courage and ruthlessness. She had began to get worried for her safety especially being the only girl but she was more worried because she argued and did not partake in their activities anymore .

 

She ran away and eventually found and joined The Inquisition.

Oh, I totally get that. I can see where mages would find comfort with other mages. Kind of like Anders' romance in DA2. And, yeah, I wouldn't date a templar as a mage either. They'd butt-heads way too much and there's a chance for unhealthy power dynamics depending on the situation. But, anyway, I figured for my ideal companion, I'd consider a different dynamic with such opposite classes. I was thinking in terms of like warriors getting protective over mages with little armor and mages being exasperated by their warrior partners just charging into battle before they could cast barrier.

 

Considering you like to play mages and romance them as well, it'll be interesting to see some of your ideal companions tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out.

History: Greggior is the eldest son of a Merchant Prince of Rivain. Having been offered the best schooling he quickly master the art of diplomacy and using words to get what was needed to be done...done. Greggior was soon recruited by the Grey Wardens as a political player and was brought to the First Warden to be trained as  a leading member among the highest rankings of the Wardens. Travelling from court to court providing console to kings and queens and even helping Leliana during her own travels. Greggior is a man with only one obligation: his duty, and will do what is needed from the Inquisition in order to improve the social standings of the Wardens across Thedas.

History: When Elfquisitor went wandering in the forest, (s)he happened upon a small family of wolves. Recognizing them to be a "pup," the pack gently prodded them back towards their clan, though the smallest pup followed them, curious. When the two returned to the clan, Elfquisitor prevented Lavellan's hunters from firing on the pup. (S)he called him their "Shadow," and, remembering the old Dalish tales of the Emerald Knights, decided to keep him. Shadow has become a valuable ally to his new pack, often rivaling a Mabari for intelligence and mischief.

She regrets her life serving under Tevinter lords, but is not out for redemption so much as moving on. Part bitter over how things have turned out, and part lost, not knowing where to go with her life now that she has stopped taking orders.
