No mods. I am on Xbox.

You don't n need to be sure why it's important to me. But you can obviously see that it is. And, as I've said before, over the course of (I think) four playthoughs several years ago I pick every possible choice at some point. I just can't remember which choices I made on what I consider my main character.

Fine.  I still don't really get it, but I'm sorry for the passive-aggressive tone I took - I bristled at your suggestion in the OP that Bioware is somehow taking the lazy way out by going to the trouble of building this tool for you to use.  There was never going to be a perfect solution to cross-console, cross-engine save imports, especially when those saves contained numerous bugs anyway.  I tried to offer you the best advice I could.

None of my Wardens showed either (no custom heroes detected) but I don't really mind since I remember what they did anyway. My only issue would be, if some codex entries mention the Warden by name because then it would show default names instead of my custom ones. I'd like knowing that in advance so I can fix it. I know it's kind of a detail but I'd replay DAO over again just to get the right names in a codex entry in DAI

This is also a concern of mine... I really wish we could customize the default heroes a bit more (thus creating your own custom heroes through the Keep).

By that I mean edit their names, and change Hawke's appearance somehow.

Another one of these man, It was never said your choices would be imported into the Keep nowhere did Bioware say this. That is nothing but a misconception on the fans part. Your achievements and what DLCs you played do not matter at all, it has no effect on DAI at all. It was also never stated that there would be a CC in the Keep as that is not possible atm, Bioware confirmed there will be a CC in game where you can customize Hawke, The Warden however will not make a physical appearance. You need to realize this is a Beta its going to have bugs and the team is working on it around the clock as hard as they can so chill.  If your to lazy to make all your decisions manually or look up the decisions on the Dragon Age wiki then you might as well not bother with the Keep and just use the default states that are provided in DAI.

Complaining for the sake of complaining.

Like I said, load the game and read your quest log to see your choices. If you have time to spend on the forums, then you can spare 15min reading your journal.

I did hear that there was a character creator for Hawke in the game itself, which is of course, super awesome.

I know it's a little ungrateful to say things like "I wish the Hawke-character-creator was in the Keep instead so it doesn't break game immersion too much," or "I wish I could edit the default Wardens' first names in the Keep so my history is more accurate", but this is the game's forum, and it's a place where we can mention dumb complaints such as these.

Ultimately, I know Bioware never had to do this, and I'm very happy they are doing the best they can to preserve our playthroughs, cause no other company ever tried this.

At least I'm not the only one having problems. Keep still hasn't synced any of my Wardens yet.

I'm not complaining, I just would like to know if the Warden's 1st name is in any codex entries in advance so I can take steps to fix it, such as redoing playthroughs

This seems like the best bet for those of us having trouble with the syncing process - http://forum.bioware...after-24-hours/

It mentions the white screen I get for my DAO profile (and a work around) so apparently I'm not the only one. Thanks to Panda for pointing me in the right direction.

I just started the "Sync" on the Keep website. So far it has just ticked off any achievements I've unlocked for DAO then told me "custom heroes unavailable - please select a default hero." Any point going ahead with this? It also seems like I have to manually enter a bunch of decisions I made in a game I haven't played for years. And with multiple playthoughs needed to get all achievements I have actually picked every choice at some point. Is this BioWare saying "We can be f*cked. Do it yourself?" Pretty disappointing. Between this and no character creation for multiplayer I'm actually considering cancelling my pre order.

I think it would best be understood and confirmed that the Keep Syncs do not impact Dragon Age Inquisition at all.

The Dragon Age Keep does not ever load saves into the Keep from DAO or DA2.

The Dragon Age Keep is a World State Creator - not - a Save Game Uploader.

  • [Justin] The syncing for your heroes from DAO are not going to affect DAI. They will affect the little icon [2D avatar] on the Keep. They’ll affect some of the graphics, the names, but none of that will trickle into DAI so you’re still perfectly set for the DAI launch [whether you use custom heroes or default heroes].
  • [Renata] The syncing stuff is more just for your own personal use so you can see what you've accomplished in the games and be reminded of what your Wardens and your Hawkes looked like and what they did but it doesn’t actually impact anything in the Keep or in Dragon Age Inquisition.
  • [Justin] But the flags do. [the Tile decision choices] Don’t misunderstand that.

And to be honest, if entering a few choices in the Keep is an issue, then forget collecting Elfroot, customising hundreds of armour and weapon sets and playing a ten region world...

Is this BioWare saying "We can be f*cked. Do it yourself?" Pretty disappointing.

They could have easily said: ''it's not worth the trouble, we'll just use our own default world state and allow no importing. Deal with it''.

Be grateful that we got this much. Picking your decisions across the two game doesn't take more than 10 minutes. For a game that will take over 50 hours to complete.

Exactly. I really dont know what it is with some BW fans and unessecary tantrams:

'I have to input my own choices' - Sheer laziness, I did two worlds in half an hour...its really not that complex

'Lack of MP custom is a deal breaker' - Forgetting of course DA is a predominantly single player experience and the MP has no in game purpose like ME, in my veiw to put a mechanic like that in would be very bad.

People are working really hard to bring a bug free game that people will love and if people throw a wobbly because they cant be arsed to do a bit of leg work?

Thats pretty disrespectful to the developers I must say

I was impressed about how many decisions were incorporated into the Keep.   For example, the minor characters in Redcliffe that you can help.   Since I am currently replaying Origins they are pretty fresh in my mind but there is always the Wiki if I am not sure about who someone is.

The odd thing is that whilst it seems to recognise all my achievements from my original playthroughs, it only brings up my current two customised characters; recognisable by the names I gave them.    (I have changed computers since the first batch and so the reloaded game only has these two Wardens).  However, for DA2 all of my Hawkes are there.  (I must have been logged on more frequently for DA2 with the old computer).   If this means that if Hawke does appear he/she will have my customised appearance that will be great.

I feel the important thing is that thanks to the Keep hopefully all decisions will be carried over correctly.    I was always a bit worried if we had uploaded save games because I couldn't be sure how they would carry over.   For example, there was a bug in the codex in DAO that meant that it said I saved Connor by sacrificing Isolde even though I had used the Circle mages and my romance with Zevran didn't carry over correctly to DA2 so he cheated on me.   If this sort of thing will be avoided by the Keep then that is great.

I say thank you to the Devs for taking the time to implement this rather than saying it wasn't possible to import to the new platform and just giving us a basic default history.

This thread is probably more appropriate for posting in DA Keep portion of forum.  Regardless too many people are worrying over nothing with all this synching stuff.  If you get all your Warden's and Hawke's synched to the Keep you will get a custom portrait with a custom name (there has been discussion about adding a way to type your custom name directly into the Keep).  That is all.  It imports no saved game data.  No choices, no romances, nada.  All DAI relevant choices from DAO and DA2 have to be entered manually (if a choice from a previous game is missing that likely means it bears no relevance in Inquisition.)

Are there some kinks to work out? Yes.  I've encountered a number of minor conflicts, but nothing I couldn't work around to create my various world states (and I'm fairly inept when it comes to computers and tech.)  And if it's been so long you cannot remember you choices I highly recommend replaying the games (I'd forgotten a lot from Origins which made it fun to play again.)  In lieu of replaying there are host of Youtube vids and wiki to utilize as resources...or just play the game with one of Bioware's default worlds.

The only things the Keep imports from your synced BSN data is your character's name*possibly*,gender, race and class.

It does not directly import your saved game data.

Something we've known for months now.
