In origins I was unable to do the quest "Jowan's Intention" due to a bug in the console version that wasn't fixed. Will this option be available to decide Jowans fate fate in the keep.
Why isn't there an option to decide jowans fate in the keep.

A mix between the developers not adding his fate and demand. New plot tiles can be added if more people request it. As for the bugged quest because it wasn't avilaible to everyone it's hard to say whether it will be treated as canon if added to the Keep. At best I can see a tile added representing to choice you made during the Arl of redcliffe quest but not his chantry board quest.

First of all we need at least an option to set "Jowan is alive or Jowan is dead". We dont even have that choice yet ![]()

I agree. Jowan is as important as Fergus Cousland.
Hey now, Fergus Cousland is very important. He's just in a coma or something during DAO so there are no choices for him. ![]()

I'd completely forgot about him! lol There wouldn't need to be a tile for him, since the Warden Noble didn't have to make any choices in the game concerning him.

Send a plot request through the beta feedback... That's what it's there for, afterall. ![]()

The scenario involving Jowan was so bugged some people may not have any idea they were supposed to meet up with him again if he is allowed to go free. I think the developers will be staying away from any tiles where horrible bugs prevented a given scenario or quest from working correctly, or at all, unless it is really important.

Jowan had a bigger role when you played as a mage. Also, he was an option to help save Connor, since he was in the prison cell in Redcliffe.

It's not just Jowan. There are plenty of other characters who are absent from this.

I definitely think Samson and Orana are worth adding actually. I've sent feedback on both.

1) It was not *horribly* bugged. Just the chance of meeting him was too small.
I thought the chance was zero without using the developer console. It's not a random encounter, it's a quest area.

I really don't understand what you're talking about, and I've played DA:O multiple times. I have always found Jowan in the cell downstairs, where he belongs. On occasion, I decided to let him help eventually not doing the ritual, let him help eventually doing the ritual with Isolde, let him go free and kill him. I agree he should have a tile, but if you think about it most of the temporary companions in the origin story don't have one... Anyway, what was the bug about?

If you tell Jowan to 'leave and never come back' (paraphrasing) in the dungeons of Redcliffe you'll meet him later protecting some refugees from blight wolves. But you can't complete this encounter without using the developer console.

Now I understand: thank you. And now that I understand, I have to agree that it really seems to be a minor detail in the great picture of things.

The funny part about Jowan is that he was supposed to be a recruit-able companion but was scraped off when the game was launched. He is a minor character but is a good friend with the mage origin Warden. Aside from his gullible and naive nature that lead him to bringing Redcliff on the verge of annihilation he is a good man and all he wants is to do things right or set them straight.
You can decide his fate where you can release him, execute him or turn him over to the Circle. In the end Jowan either dies, disappears or becomes tranquil though there is a chance you might bump into him under a new name if you release him.
Other than this Jowan is a little more than a simple character and could have had a better role in the story. The verdict is that I agree to the idea of asking about his fate.

You think? As a mage warden I was always majorly annoyed by him: he is the one that gets you into that mess in the first place and he consistently makes wrong decisions to cover up wrong decisions. My mage warden always kills him. ![]()

On the sidenote: Originally Jowan wasn't just a minor character. He was supposed to be a party member.

Wasn't one of the main things of the Keep to fix bugs from the games and not just ignore the quests that were bugged?

They're not ignoring Jowan's fate because his quest is bugged, they're ignoring him because he's not that important. He's either dead or Tranquil in what I guess is the vast majority of playthroughs, and even for those who let him go I it's been more than a decade since Origins and he might have been killed already (solo blood mages don't have such a great life expectancy).
