I imagine it will play well enough. Not as good as a high end PC or this generation of consoles. But the story will be intact, as well as game play mechanics, so don't worry to much about it. Just have fun what with you have. Many people are all hung up on graphics these days, but the important thing is how much fun the game will be.

umm the artstyle in this game is very cartoony? Maybe you need to get your eyes checked because facially the characters look anything but cartoony, they are very life like, this is the only one of biowares latest games that dont have cartoony graphics, with mass effect 2 being the last one. DAI has even more realistic looking characters and textures than ME2 did. It sounds like wishful thinking on your part. The game wont look horrible but it will not be pretty either.

Its the same thing with the armors tho tbh, i dont see the supposed cartoony art style

Cartoony? Are we looking at the same game? This isn't Borderlands. DAI is running on Frostbite 3, which is arguably one of the most powerful and sophisticated engines in the industry. This is the most realistic DA game to date. I don't know if you'd want to suggest whether it will look "good," but rather it will be severely lacking. It will be night and day between the visuals on ultra for a PC versus last gen consoles. New gen consoles will be somewhere in the middle.

Nope, the OP does not need to get eyes checked. Since DAO   DA series has taken a very cartoony route when it comes to the style and animations. DAO has the most realistic approach, even if graphically, it was  pretty low.  DA2 went a real 180 with it and gave us play-doh hair.   Now Granted, in DAI the scenary and atmosphere looks alot better, but the characters still give us a sense of a cartoony feel, certainly doesnt look realistic like the witcher.

say what?`DAI looks far more realistic and human like than dao. i played through DAO just recently so i should know, even with the high res textures im using it still doesnt look as realistic as DAI does,  We are not talking about style and animations "sweetie". We are talking about the fact that the characters look a lot like actual humans, looking at the faces in the DAI character creator, even on ps4 without max gfx that a high end pc would provide, are you seriously going to deny that? and claim that dao looked more realistic to boot? The way that the face is structured in a cartoony game is very different from what DAI is. DAO characters look like wax dolls in comparison. I dont give a rats a*ss what the witcher looks like, why even bring that up? This is our response to the ops wish that the game will look good on his sh''itty 10 yr old hardware, and is not a debate about whether the witcher has more realistic graphics or if DAI has the most realistic graphics in the entire universe. The characters bodies in DAO looked messed up aswell,  all the females had huge noodly arms, wide huge hands and shoulders and looked really off, from what ive seen in DAI is much better although far from perfect.

this is a perfect example of cartoonish graphics

how did dao animations look realistic? running in combat like a gorilla who needs to go the toilet is realistic? slowly and clumsily shuffling around one another in combat to attack is realistic? slowly swinging your weapon like a moron is realistic?

I have similar concerns about framerate issues, and that was actually the deciding factor in my choice to upgrade to the PS4 from the PS3.  Currently, my gaming TV is a 24-inch, 720p unit, so I initially planned to stick with my PS3 for DAI (why buy a console that can play games at 1080p if my TV can't reflect the upgrade?). But there was no way I wanted to risk having to suffer through severe framerate drops, which to me represent a dealbreaker that a slight loss of appreciable resolution does not.  I actually had the PS3 version pre-ordered, but I thought about my poor PS3 barely chugging through certain sections of Dragon's Dogma and DA II, and I decided to take the next-gen plunge, despite the fact that it will be at least another year before I can get a 1080p gaming TV.

If you game on a 24 inch tv at the moment just buy a BENQ 24 inch gaming monitor (w HDMI), monitors ussually have better picture and a faster response time. they sell between 120-160 euros ( about 200 USD),

To the above:

I don't think Inquisition looks cartoony.. at all.. look at the faces for one. Origins maybe but even that didn't come off as cartoony to me.

DAi graphics are much improved, but they still carry a cartoony.I have been playing DAO recently as well, in fact I have been playing right now as well, the look and feel is realistic because of the style. Of course graphic wise it isnt as good as DAI. They do not have to be like the ones you posted to be considered cartoony. That is the style. They still have yet to get beards and facial hair anywhere near good and the hairstyle still seems like playdoh. I saw witcher 3 because its just an example of realistic. The only reason I brought any of this up is cause you called out the OP saying he needs to get eyes checked because of his comment of DAI still looking a bit cartoony, which is true.

Thing is. I am capable of doing all those things in DAO, awkward though they might be. I am not capable of backflipping every time I launch an arrow or teleporting across the field in less than a second, or round housing a smoke grenade at an enemy. I dont generate a purple aura just by auto attacking.

im still not seeing the realism in the "style" of DAO, in comparison to DAI. DAI isnt as cartoony as the two of you are making it out to be.I get that combat is flashy and over the top, He said that DAI looked *very* cartoony, which is just silly and untrue. They seem to have for the most been aiming for a realistic artstyle with a few dashes of flair here and there, as for the hair, it looked like crap in ME 1 and ME 2, and neither of those games are "cartoony".

The point im trying to make is that the facial proportions and the skin of the chars are realistically human, take a look at Josephine here http://dragonage.wik...hinecropped.png

that looks like it could have been based on an actual person, unlike DAO and DA2. Morrigan and Leliana in DAO looked nothing like the two real life models that they were based upon, their facial proportions just werent human, Leliana even less so in DA2(which is unsurprising because its the most cartoony game theyve made)

At any rate this is a pointless discussion, i was merely responding to the fact that the artstyle. for the most part is not cartoony. Having a bit of flamboyance in your game doesnt make it cartoony. .
