I personally believe they will considering the events of DA: Awakening. It's possible that they will be a recruitable faction closer  to the end-game. What do you all think? (Feel free to mention spoilers from the previous games).

Also I would love to see more talking Darkspawn.

I hope they feature in some regard, I quite like the Darkspawn, and would like to get closer to knowing what they actually are.

Though, perhaps some DLC with the Warden actually appearing would be pretty hype. Even if s/he helps in combat at some point, acknowledges the Inquisitor with a nod, then continues on ahead, so we don't have to hear him/her talk.

I don't think they'll play a major role in the main game, but they could get a prominent role in a later story DLC. Though if the Warden spared the Architect in Awakening and he kept his word and worked towards liberating darkspawn from the call of the Old Gods, they might render some help against the demons. We'll see.

How do you know they won't play a major or at least significant part in the game?

Treat the Keep as an idea of what will be in the game. Whether The Architect is alive or not is a choice in the Keep so that will play some roll in DA:I. Maybe, the Chosen (I think that's what they were called - The Architects group) could become a part of the Inquisition if you play your cards right. Who knows? Or maybe you find them in the Deep Roads fighting alongside The Legion of the Dead? The possibilities are endless. -

- Well not endless, there is a limit somewhere...

And yes, in a recent Twitch stream, I heard that you could go hunting Darkspawn and that would in turn, make you better at killing them. So there are Darkspawn enemies so there is a possibility that you come across groups that communicate with you. Or end up in cutscenes or whatnot.

Ah, the old enemy. It will be like finally facing the Collectors in ME3.

It's hard to imagine that the Uruk-Hai won't be back. They've been a pretty big part of the series.

Because the devs said so.

I don't think they will play a major part in DA:I 'cause the Inquisition is not ment to deal with the darkspawn it is ment to put a stop to all the infighting going on in Thedas at the moment. Ofcourse you'll encounter darkspawn who've mostly retreated deep into the deep roads at the end of Awakening so going underground will likely have you face them. Also unless all red lyrium suddenly started to grow on the surface there are reasons for going deep underground so yeah I think we'll see them, just not as a major enemy.

How much the Architect plot has an influence in DA:I... who knows? Personally I hope we'll see some effect in this game... perhaps having them be a more neutral enemy while you travel the deeproads if you let him live. Working with them? I doubt that honestly...but perhaps a sort of peace accord?

Who knows? I can't wait to find out though :)

They'll be present as wandering monsters, but that's it.

Plenty of them in the deep roads. With the red lirium playing a bigger part in the game, deep roads sounds really important.

Plus the fact that we have Fereldan and Orlais on the map. Would be nice if one quest have us sneak through the deep roads and surprise attack the Orlaisians (some factions in their civil war). Kind of like in The Stolen Throne. Then the Orlaisians will really hate the deep roads.

Maybe instead of Legion of the Dead this time we surface with a bunch of talking darkspawn.

Nah, my inquisitor could never work with a race as ugly as the darkspawn.......... He pretends to be all diplomatic and stuff but is in fact quite a shallow person.

What I really want to see in connection with the dark spawn is a further explanation on the original taint thing, the 'golden city' and it was already black............
